I had driven in loads of prepared iron, bins full of alternators, barrels of brass water meters, 10's of thousands of rain birds, etc. while working for a gentleman by the name of Langford. Well, Langford passed away and since I had never had any real issues with Yakima office, I brought in a smaller load of scrap. First and foremost, the heavy set guy with glasses was rude and could use a lesson in how to treat the customer. Perhaps it was my rugged appearance. I showed up after I had worked six hours cutting aluminum irrigation pipe with the Stihl 420 and was looking rough. Perhaps it was cause I didn't show up with the boss? He usually waited at the gate though and had me drive the loads in due to an altercation with a worker who punched a hole in the flatbed of his truck. Regardless, I checked my receipt and was disappointed to see that there was no mention of the brass radiator I had cleaned and brought in nor was there any mention of the six electric copper bearing motors . I am glad I didn't bring in the Gaylord bin of motherboards. At five cents a pound you may as well throw them away. I took mine to calbag in Tacoma and was paid two bucks a pound. So, sorry fellas. Since mayflower closed this place seems to think they have a monopoly on the market. Binfords will get my business if I have small loads to take in locally. Tri cities Pacific has always been good to me. And I've gotten much better prices. Sadly this place doesn't meet expectations.

Well, I hate to be a complainer but if you are going to pay $2.00 when the going rate is $3.40… at least be pleasant about it. You weren’t doing me a favor paying almost half price. After such a diplomatic response… how could I not change my review. It’s on me I suppose, no one made me take my copper and brass there. I could have asked more questions and taken it somewhere else if I didn’t like the price offered. Ultimately buyer beware right!

Picking up scrap metal for nampa have to go on the scale its tight, check in with scale person

I wanted to give them a good rating to offset some others, but I couldn't. I had 34 lb of aluminum cans that somehow weighed 26 on their scale. They had numerous demands for masks but none of their employees had them. They kept my cans and didn't pay me because my driver's license was expired 4 days (and had 12 other cards in my wallet with ID's). This was after they wrote down my license plate number. Do you think this should be higher than a 1?

Once again Tony came through. With the steel market the way it is these days and long lead times, Tony came up with options that are only 4 days out! Great service! Tony A. gave me a quote for a large amount aluminum tubing and got it done with good follow up and short lead time.

When I showed up to buy some metal they had to get a different person to help. It took him about 7 minutes to come back with a price for the single piece of metal I was after. Then when I gave him my card for payment he took it away from the front counter back to a desk in the corner, and I waited 8 more minutes before he brought it back. I was then instructed to go to the east bay to pick up my metal, but there was a semi truck unloading. After waiting 20 minutes I was finally told to go around to the back side of the building and go to a different bay. I continued my journey for a single hunk of metal and went to the designated area. There was an employee there who was working on cutting a large steel beam, and after 5 minutes he came over to see what I was doing there. I gave him my picking ticket, and he went to get my metal, and put it in the truck. He didn't say a word during the entire encounter. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to get your order. I was unimpressed by the speed, the customer service and the price. Next time I will just go to Mortons.

I've been taking metal scraps here for over 2 years. While I was unloading 800lbs of mixed aluminum, I lost my $120 Knife from Cold Steel in the mix of metal. I quickly came back to search for it and it was GONE. A little over a month later, I return with a load and the gentleman asked if I lost a knife awhile back. I quickly stated yes, and he said he found it in the pile and held onto it for the 6 weeks untill I returned. WHO DOES THAT?! I personally would of taken it after a few days of no return. But these guys are honest and genuine and you will have a hard time finding anyone else that would do that in this town. I was shocked and VERY grateful because the knife was a gift to me

I have come here twice so far and will return again. I like getting paid for stuff that I would normally take to the dump. The staff can be a little salty at times (my first time) but if you come knowing what you need to get done they provide a fine service. My first trip (last year) I had no clue what to do, the office staff kinda give you the "darn rookie" treatment when explaining they way things work...its pretty straightforward. This was not pleasant. On top of that I had several different type of graded metals and the employee at the time just graded it as one, this did not feel right. To make me feel worse you need to provide valid driver license and license plate number which does not give you the greatest feeling of trust. Yet, that was my first time. Today I came in with three grades and though I was prepared to point this out the attendant promptly helped me sort/weigh without any direction from myself, this was pleasant. I came into the office, they aren't much for small chat. I can get behind that. But I was prepared with my ID as this is a process the state demands, or at least that is what I could find out. Just the way she goes and it doesn't bug me now. I was promptly paid with no fuss and a receipt was provided at my request. So, all in all Pacific Steel is pretty straightforward in my opinion though be prepared to demand sorting for a proper accounting of you metals and thicken your skin if your new. If you are curious about their prices of specific grades you can view them in their office, they vary with the metal markets. Whether they are fair is beyond my research/care. As I said before the stuff I have is trash to me, getting compensated for it is pretty cool.

I called a couple months ago asking for pricing on expanded steel. The employee wouldn't even give me a quote if I didn't know what thickness of material I wanted and if it was raised or flat. He wasn't thrilled to explain the differences to me, then was completely disinterested in guessing which thickness would be best for my application. I was refused a quote. Today I called asking about square steel pipe. I literally just asked him to quote me what he thought would be thick enough to hold my weight. He refused and told me to hire a structural engineer. Structural engineer? Are you serious!?! This company doesn't care about non-business customers

Band-saw was down and told i won't be able to have metal cut to size. Talk to the Manager WOW what professionalism and respect he cut it to size and loaded it ,He took care of everything with AWESOME customer service skills, It seems to be very rare to be treated that well these days. Will continue to buy threw them.A++

These people are rude and act like we are all thief’s, maybe just maybe we are people trying to do some good and recycle instead of just throwing items away at the landfill. How you are treated there I would rather go against my morals than to deal with their attitudes. To bad could be a good business if it was not for the employees.

I reminded the attendant twice to add in my 60#s of cast aluminum and until I saw my receipt, I didn't know he had not. I believe it was an attempt to rip me off.

Don't do business with these crooks! Got paid $0.05 per lb on motherboards and $0.01 on power supplies. Did not even pay for the gas. Felt ripped off and cheated big time.
