Great place! every employee was happy to help. My car's genie lamp light came on and having a potentially hangry genie tearing through my engine freaked me out! Came here they smiled and even laughed at my story. They told me my oil was low, it was, and I got the genie fat and back silently to sleep... for now😶
This was January 10th around 12pm. The older woman with short blk/white hair up front made it seem impossible for her to check for longer cables in the back. She was very condescending and made my (black) husband and I feel very uncomfortable with her terrible customer service. She also made it seem like we couldn’t afford longer cables so that’s why she didn’t want to check - hence my reasoning for a possible racist encounter. My aunt then walked in to ask to use the restroom and decided not to because the woman “helping” us made HER feel uncomfortable. After thinking about it all weekend, I called to let management know and Kelly never returned my call. I’ll be going to their district manager next - do NOT walk into this store if you are a person of color. I will add that there was one young gentlemen who was accommodating in the beginning - wish he was the person who finished our transaction.
They have pretty much everything that you need for maintaining service of your car. The staff are very kind and polite. Returns are easy if the part is not used. Prices are very reasonable I am a loyal customer
This review is coming a couple of years late but here it is.
I was passing through Fernwood two years ago on my way to Montana when I foolishly locked the keys in the car.
I knew I would be able to get in with a slim-jim and thought of calling a tow truck (all tow truck drivers carry slim-jims). A local pointed out O'Reilly's and suggested I talk to them.
I went in and asked "Do you know if you carry slim-jims?" The two young guys gave me blank looks (these tools are likely before their time) but a middle aged woman said "They're over here".
I bought it and was back into the car within minutes and on my way.
I wish I knew that woman's name so I could thank her personally but perhaps someone who works there will read this and pass on my thanks to her...
Very pleased with the staff member who double checked the in store inventory to find a battery they had as out of stock / on order. It was critical to have the battery for starting a 3 day trip the next morning.
Just got a big Group 4D 4D3 bus battery from them. Had it in stock and loaded it into my vehicle.. Always happy with their staff!
Best O’Reillys in Whatcom county hands-down. Store is always nice and well put together. They have lots of stuff in stock here counter sales people are darn good here too.
Super awesome. Definitely had some issues with other staff but brie and jess are my heroes. Came in with a busted headlight and they helped me through the whole setup with a new assembly lights, and fuses. Those two wonderful people made my day today and possibly week. I also learned lots from them while they brought a sense of comfort and friendliness. 10/10 forgot to buy turtle wax and will gladly take the excuse to come back.
Avoid Tysen at all cost!

They were great! Jess helped me out. Got my battery figured out. Tested my alternator. All the things. Let me use their tools to change the battery. Check them out for you car needs.
I stopped by here on December 8th because I had a couple dashboard lights come on. The battery light and the ABS light. So I thought I'd stop and ask for a diagnostic test. I was told that since it was the battery light, he wasn't going to do a diagnostic but he would check the battery. He checks the battery, says it's good, and asks me to start the car to see if the lights still come on which of course they did not. He said everything was all good and sent me on my way. Yesterday, my car broke down right near a busy intersection, in the pouring rain. Long story shorter, I just paid $200+ to have someone come look at my car to find out the battery's no good. Only good thing is that the price of the battery is included in that $200+. I DO NOT recommend stopping at this store.
Jess is very friendly and professional. He ensures you get the right parts and supplies or orders them if necessary. He'll go through everything with you after assisting with an OBD-II check.
I went in just around closing time and the assistant manager Dom was so amazing. I told him I had some concerns with my suv that I had given it a tune up along with changing the valve cover gasket and that it was running hot. He asked me a bunch of questions and asked me if he could look under my hood. He tested my temp sensor and it checked out good. In the end he told me I did a great job and he was sure my jeep would go great going across country and back. Wow Dom, I was blown away! This by far "THE BEST" customer experience for me ever!. He was very knowledgeable and effectively met all my needs! Thank you Dom at Ferndale Oreilys👍
I just need to say....how grateful I am to this awesome crew....Jess, Asher and Tysen. What a blessing they were for this old lady who was needing some help. Their kind customer service was beyond helpful and they were professional.

Ferndale, WA 7/19/23. Excellent customer service. Asher was working the counter. I asked about the alternator testing. Helped with testing the alternator promptly. Found out battery was bad and got me squared away with a new one, installed it and got me back on the road in less than 30 minutes. Well done!
Amazing crew every time I go in decorate for a vehicle fix they know right what to do. Everyone there has helped me at least more then once. They all know what I need when I ask for help, when I don't know what I need. A+ these employees all really seem to love there job! Thank you everyone here.
Came in a few weeks ago with my engine light flashing and my car shaking like a kid being prescribed Adderall after not being able to focus on his math homework. Service was incredibly helpful, kind, and informative. Crew finds pride in helping people without much knowledge on cars solve their problems. Would highly recommend!
Hands down best service I have ever received at an auto parts store! I've been here numerous times but this last week I was assisted by Jess. Jess was the kindest and most thorough I have ever experienced. I've had continued battery issues and Jess took the time to explain WHY my battery kept failing. He offered additional testing to ensure I was getting the proper battery for my vehicle needs. Who knew there was a difference! He never once made me feel inferior for not knowing this information but instead offered the education so if i ever need to, i can confidently come back. If you want answers to your questions, I strongly recommend seeking Jess. And if he doesn't know the information, he's honest and will tell you! I hope all of your experiences were as good as mine!
Super helpful staff. The access to next day or even same day delivery for parts is fantastic and has saved me several times from being without my car for any period of time. Very nice how purchases can be tied to a phone number for very easy returns. Always my first stop for any of my automotive needs.
Good prices and knowledgeable staff make this the store in Washington I go to when needing things for the car. Since they are close to the border Canadians like me do come in so they should know more about any differences our cars have like the metric system. Have a conversion chart for front-line staff to refer to if needed.
I've been working on a project adding fog lights to my car. There were a number of installation accessories that were needed to finish the project; heatshrink, terminal connectors, wirestripper, etc... The staff were very helpful in showing me where I could find what I was looking for. With what was needed in hand to secure and protect the lights' wiring harness I've been able to complete my project. I've always appreciated the knowledgeable and helpful staff at the Ferndale location for years. I plan on returning when I work on the same project for my wife's vehicle.
I've always had great service there and get all the help I need. Prices are good and they always have what I need in stock. Every person who has helped me has been friendly and willing to help. I'll keep going back because of it.
I went to this store last night to buy a spark plug. I was completely ignored by the desk staff, who instead helped a phone caller who called in after I was standing at the counter waiting for service. The clerk was completely oblivious, as if I wasn't even standing at the counter. It was clear to me that customer service and courtesy are not emphasized at this location. I walked out and will never set foot in this store again. If a manager/owner is reading this, I think some training is warranted.
The staff at this parts store are so kind and Knowledgeable : I don’t live in this area and I was up here taking care of my daughters place while she was vacationing . my car broke down and they got me the right parts first time I had a few questions I got the serpentine belt on myself and the car is running again: I don’t know the young mans name that helped me at the counter either day I was there twice / I had to ask more questions :) : The guys that helped me at the counter need raises. If they didn’t know the answe they found someone ! It’s great to see such great customer service ! Nice respectful young men ! I think it’s the town also :) Thank you Ferndale and Orielys !
