We drove up to the scale shack and were greeted by Jenny with the biggest, cheeriest smile. She answered all of our questions, never made us feel dumb, showed us exactly where to go, and helped us get the best price for what we had.
Jenny has some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. You can tell she’s passionate about her job and truly puts customers first. She deserves major kudos, and I hope they keep her around for a long time.
We’ll honestly keep coming back just to see her smiling face. She even gave our dog treats and the kids suckers — such a thoughtful touch. All-around amazing experience!
I come here often and there is a young man named joe out at the garbage pile. He is always super helpful and kind. Employees like this make a business great!
This place is the cats ass. Cheap price compared to other options in the county. Never had an issue with anyone. And it’s super fun watching the homeowners try and back up their trailers into the new building to dump. That alone is worth the cost of the dump fees.
A couple problems that I’ve had which were self-inflicted was I got a load stuck in the dump Truck which they were more than happy to help me dig out with the machine and my dump trailer battery was dead and they had a jump box on site to help fantastic people fantastic service good place to dump your shit thanks for all the years of awesomeness
It is be expensive to discard refugee here. With this type of pricing you can see why there is litter left on the rural areas of Whatcom County. This does not promote properly disposing of waste.
We had to haul our own garbage and recycling for years. We always went to Recycle & Disposal Management. The staff is always friendly, the prices reasonable, and not sure how they do it, it's pretty clean.
I came in to unload 5 bags at 4:45 on monday afternnon -(well under the minimum weight but still charged the min. $). The Scale attendant was extremely nice and efficient friendly as was the exit attendant.
the PROBLEM- I accidently took the truck lane by my mistake instead of the passenger car lane. I realized after I did it. I waited and waited and waited for the warehouse assistants to guide me to the next slot- finally got tired of waiting. I slowly wrnt forward and two guys appear from way in the far corner- I rolled down my window and waived and tried to make an apology (there were NO TRAFFIC WAITING in either lane!!). as i tried to make an apology the older short grey beard lighter build guy in his late 50's -early 60's doesnt wait for my apology but BARKS at me! that I need to get in the right lane ( again- no one waiting- and I have to pull in to find a spkt before he shows up. 1. I trued to say hey i'm sorry i normally do but didnt do it on purpose. 2 YOU DON'T BARK at customers. Your Job is I repeat- customer service based. if you cant handle the company's mamtra "Our staff is dedicated to helping you make your visit efficient and pleasant" --,Then you buddy- are in the WRONG jOB !!!
the supervisor was extreme Great! because of him and the scale attendants- I will keep paying my "minimum due" even though i probably didnt reach it. I see that person again-- I will not tolerate him and leave.
While disposing of my garbage today I threw my cellphone into the dumpster! 😱
I can’t say enough good things about Nathan and Joshua (sorry if the names are wrong) who climbed in and recovered my phone 📱🥳 with no complaints at all .
Whoever is the manager and trainer of the personnel at RDS deserves to be commended for a job well done. I mistakenly discarded a couple of boxes containing important documents when depositing trash yesterday, creating a riff within the family. Desparate to recover the items, I immediately notified the ladies at the office and they all responded in a very professional, compassionate and timely fashion. Upon opening this morning, Dustin and Shane obligingly sifted through an immense collection of disgusting garbage and miraculously found the items I needed to retrieve. Everyone involved deserve not only grateful praise for being exceptional people but even salary raises for their determined efforts to help relieve an anguished customer in resolving a crucial blunder. You are all my heroes! Thank you once again!!!

I showed up about 10-15 min before closing on a Friday with a pickup bed packed to the gills with old grass sod, dirt and yard debris. It was hot out, and I had just begun unloading and I was already dripping sweat. One of the workers offered to give me a hand, and together we worked to pull and push all of it out. It was a few minutes past closing now, on a Friday. That extra help really meant a lot to me, and the effort and friendliness of that guy was great. Thanks again. Also the gals at the checkout are super cool, they always give the biggest milk bones to my dog. You people are awesome!

I used this facility while working on a property in Bellingham. I had a great experience, the staff was very friendly and didn’t mind explaining the process. They have a $10 minimum fee, which is cheaper than the $20 minimum fee I’m used to at my local facility.
The Lady that would normally work the scale was very pleasant to talk with. Not sure if she is still employed there, however, my Son and I had taken a truck load of garbage there twice and the young girl working should get a lesson on customer service. She was very rude and demanding. I will no longer give them my business .
I always go to RDS. I know there may be other places and some may even be a bit cheaper, but I love this place. So friendly and helpful. At a dump! Who knew!! Makes going to the dump an enjoyable event!
I've visited Recycling Centers elsewhere before so I have a basis for comparison. The yellow vest folks (everyone of them) who helped me on my first visit on a very cold dark day at closing time were the nicest you'd find. They are very helpful and do a great job! [Owner - pl let them know]. My experience was slightly set back on the way out, but I wont hold it against anyone - more job experience will sort that out. During winter make sure you arrive there before it gets dark, because the recycling area is not well-lit and outdoors, and have your recycling stuff sorted out.
I only have a half acre yard but I feel like I'm at RDS every weekend what with blackberries, bindweed, and English ivy.
And I'm okay with that.
We like to play a game of guess how much it will be and we are always surprised when it's just the minimum charge.
The staff is always pleasant and laughing and seen to enjoy working at a dump. Always willing to answer questions about where to go and appreciate it when you tell them when you've got a mixed load.
It's a dirty place! The workers look like trailer park trash and treat's my stuff like garbage! Dirty women work here! That's why I love coming to this place regularly!
All jokes aside, the staff is super friendly and it's easy to navigate to offload household garbage, yard waste and appliances!
As usual they are great people to be doing business with, the ladies at the start and finish are so attentive and friendly every time I go there. I go there 2 or 3 times a month now that I'm retired it's more often doing clean up 30 yrs worth.
Staff are great people, very helpful. However, at 70 years old and very independent, it would be great to climb the metal stairs to empty recyclable material. Too slippery.the stair
Competitive pricing, easy in & out process with multiple scales so you won't wait long. Nice people. They take household garbage, large items (old furniture, construction waste etc.), common recycling (cardboard, paper, metals, glass, plastics #1-7), concrete/brick, brush/grass/leaves (yard waste), appliances, refrigerators/freezers (hazardous waste fee, just like all places that take them), tires, and other electronics.
I will never go to Republic recycling ♻️ again. OMG Republic charged us $40 for a trailer of yard waste. Took another load to RDS they charged us $15 bucks. There was 80lbs difference in load weight. I definitely won't make that mistake again.
Omg so impressed. I had my husband’s car with a dumpster and a trash can full of garbage and a bunch of recycling. Being 7 months pregnant I was not sure how I’d get the garbage out. They were so kind and patient, guided me to the bay and unloaded my car for me. The cost was reasonable and the way the attendant chatted with me while waiting for a spot to open for me really made my day. Thank you!
