Too exclusive and not friendly. If you do not live there beware of even stopping. I have a client on the island and after leaving their home I pulled my car in to the parking lot near the bridge to make a few notes regarding my visit. Knocking on my window and told to leave. Many signs posted to let you know you are being watched and not welcome.
OMG best place in the world nice people very nice beach and always a little surprise I recommend this island as a tourist place every day like I say I LOVE the beach in the summer
It's become more unfriendly to non-residents over the last several years. It may be entirely private property, or just 99% so. If you like the Olympic Peninsula, and would like to live on an island, but don't mind doing that in a suburban neighborhood, this would be a good one. I don't think any of these places get sold very often though.
Access to a huge intertidal beach can be had here at low tides, but there's very, very few places you can park your car for long and get away with it. Washington landowners own clear out to the low-tide line, so visitors can be seen as trespassers on that low tide area. Actually, because of the low tides, you'd be trespassing anywhere in that area where the bridge crosses from the mainland.
