Place is easy to find ... easy to access ... clean and friendly atmosphere .... quick and hassle free with no lines that I have ever seen ... prices are not as competitive as I would prefer buy reasonable given all the other conveniences ... that is, besides one strange inconvenience to anybody not driving a vehicle .... that's right .. you MUST arrive in a licensed motor vehicle from which they require the plate number ... I guess everybody else is burnt ... don't have a vehicle because let's say someone stole it? ... forget cashing in that copper stashpile so you can buy a new one ... besides this minor obsurdity (I'll call it, for lack of somthing less abrasive) this place is legit .... oh and I think it the only scrapyard in the northern hemisphere that has a restroom (honeybucket) available for customers.
I’ve been trying to get a hold of this place for more than a week to try and get info on a junk car tow and scrap. Filled out the web form from their website twice and have called and left messages with no response. Save your time and call someone else.
Easy as can be to unload ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Drive up to scale , unload and get paid cash for trash.
Next week will be an 14 foot aluminum boat and trailer.
Not worth it. It is worth it to search around a bit and pick ANY other place over this one. They are not honest and you will leave feeling/wondering if you've been ripped off because you most likely have.
I'd give it no stars. I brought in 570 pounds of copper wire and they gave me $991 I took 289 pounds of the same wire the day before to the yard in Kent and got $762 for it. I strongly STRONGLY recommend anyone to avoid this place at all cost. They'll take my wife make 3k on it and I get my $900 this place straight RIPS PEOPLE OFF!!!!!!!!
Prices have dropped a bit and almost make it not worth it, especially considering how much they make off it. Employees are friendly and that's why I gave them only 3 stars.
We were completing a construction project in Tacoma and Diana was extremely helpful! She provided a bin for steel disposal and was a pleasure to work with. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be using again!
The hours of operation posted says that they're open until 4:30pm. They actually shut down earlier than that. 4:10-4:15pm. I got there at 4:18 to drop a couple things off, and they were already done for the day.
I asked one of the employees if they've maybe thought about posting the hours that they're actually open for business, so people don't waste a trip there (which I'm sure happens nearly every day) and she acted like I was being absolutely absurd or something.
I was told "well that's why we suggest you get here early" like I was at fault for believing their business hours are correct.
Great service and great employees it was my first time going to a place like this and they answered my questions and helped me out. The only problem I had was they will not take anything if your under 18. I was lucky enough that a gentleman there offered to put my scrap in his name and gave my the money and recipient. I will be going back when I have another load with someone who's 18+
Diana has been great to work with. I've used her services with two different companies now from Chehalis to Spanaway, and I'll use her again when we're ready to do another scrap cleanup.
The personal is very gently, this place doesn't make you feel you're lost when you're just trying to dump your scrap.

My point of contact at Sutter Metals is Diana M. She is one of my favorite vendors and is 100% on point with communication and execution. Do you need a bin for scrap? No problem, she will get you one delivered. Scrap too big to move yourself? No problem, she will move it for you. She great and so is the company.
This was an easy process. Their dispatcher Diane asked questions to get us the right bin for our needs and worked with Lemay. She was extremely helpful answering all of our questions. I don’t know why more people don’t go this route when cleaning up their properties. Highly recommend them!
Anytime I have anything to recycle there's one person that I think of to help me out, Diana, at Sutter metals! This woman restores my faith in customer service... from beginning to end her concern is her clientele. I always feel like I'm treated fairly and taken care of. Thanks again Diana.
I have an automotive parts company, and I have had the pleasure of having Sutter Metals scrap over 100 cars for me. Jonas Victor, a driver at sutter metals has been extremely kind and accommodating. I would give them a 10 star if I could. I will be using sutter metals as long as I continue business! 10/10!
I've used five or six different scrap yards in Pierce county and these guys are hands down the best paying. I've went through my old receipts from the other places to compare prices and these guys pay 20% or better more than any of the other ones I've been to. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

The best customer service! They were all smiles, professional, helpful, and didn't make you feel stupid, and did not create barriers. They welcomed you as well as encouraged you to come back and see them, from arrival to pay out to departure, they continued to be so friendly. Great experience for a change. Normally the scrap yards are inpatient and grumpy and you feel like your a bother even being there, no questions, they are too busy for a small time recyclers. Thanks guys and gals, you made an unpleasant day a lot better. Hopefully, the negative don't ultimately make you change as times goes on....thanks again!
Only been there a couple times as this location is new. I don't know much about the company itself but I am extremely satisfied and somewhat impressed with them and the interactions I've had. They employee's who've taken my metal were not only polite and respectful but honest and knew their sh*t ( assisting me with the separation of my metals without any of the humbug I've learned to expect when scraping ) and helped me get the most out of what I'd brought. I say honest because let's face it compared to other scrap yards off of S. Tac. Way they were rightcgess with my weights and had very competitive prices to boot!
I sincerely recommend this company and hope they flourish at this location. They have a new loyal customer in me.
