Great people to work with. Even when it's super busy they have that place flowing like a well-oiled machine. Recycled a literal ton of cable today and they had us in and out of there in no time with check in hand.
You will not find a scrap yard in Pierce county or King county that is as good as benford metal in Tacoma not only are they hard workers but the level of customer service is as good as it can get they don't stand around waiting for you to bring your stuff up they go out there and help you sort your scrap with a great attitude everyday looking forward for everybody that comes in there to help them. this is a great team Bedford metals has in Tacoma
Never had any problems and they always pay the best. I've been recycling long time and no place better in area. All metal recycling places have attitudes. So don't get in your emotions. Only in washington state every one complains or think they getting screwed. They do not screw you there they pay top dollar in Tacoma. It's only place I take my copper coils and copper #1
First off the guy on the forklift was rude as hell about asking me to back my vehicle up and the direction for the line or where to park is crap than the guys were having a attitude about having to help seperate the metals like that's not what they are getting paid for than the car wiring harnesses that I brougt in called them Xmas lights than explained it's 35% copper and at 3.50 cents a pound only paid me .30 a pound and when umi went back to talk to them the guy was saying he's not going to change the check it's gonna cost me 30 bucks to do it. I've done business with binford for years in Kent and have always been treated well and got reasonable price for my scrap but this one in Tacoma is a complete rip off and will never do business with these crooks I will pay the dump fee to get rid of my metal before bringing anything back to this crap hole place. I thought Sutter metals was a light on the check but they are ten times better. If I could rate this place a negative 10 I would the only thing I liked was the cool stuff they had on display of things people scrapped
I've been coming to the parkland location for two years now and the reception i receive is very helpful and accommodating from Garrett and Matt that I've know personally for awhile now. There very hardworking men that take there job seriously along with VETERAN helpful. The gentleman run a tight, safe and clean workplace.

Brought in about 30 pounds of car wiring harnesses and when I checked the receipt it said 16 pounds of CHRISTMAS LIGHTS and the other 14 the correct type of wire.. .30 cents per pound for 16 pounds that should have been iirc 1.30ish per pound. I find it hard to believe this was not done intentionally.
My name is Krista Spurlock and I’m really disappointed and disrespected by the way I was treated at your parkland location today. I arrived at the scrap yard today at440pm. The gate was wide open another customer was just leaving. My vehicle is broken down so I had to pull a cart from my home about a mile away. Upon arrival one employees said “wow you barely made it” the other employee said you have to ask him and pointed to another gentleman I believe to be the assistant manager. A black gentleman. He came out at this time it’s 441 and said “what do you have?” I said I have some steel and some wire. He said “sorry we are closed” looked at his phone and said we close at 445. I got there at 440. I feel he judged me because I was pulling cart and what I had to recycle wasn’t good enough or why would he ask what I had??!

I do not know a lot about scrap metal. I was just cleaning up my yard and someone recommended bringing the metal to this yard. The staff was very friendly. The workers Matt and Garrett helped me sort through what was what and answered all my questions. They were very busy and effectient. I would definitely go back!!
I don't have a problem w someone wearing a sidearm 80% of the time I wear one but when a employee has to wear one tucked in his pants w no holster you have to ask what's up with the law abiding scrap new management that allows employees to work around customers w unholstered firearms I wonder what or who trouble there waiting for but I'm not catching one bcuz I went to scrap some copper at the local yard ...if you feel you need a gun to sort thru aluminum cans that your deal but...be responsible firearm owner and get a holster new management dropped the ball on that one for sure and I'm made to look the fool when I asked " are you packing " cuz that what it was he was packing in his pants like it's boyz in da hood he wasn't armed w a firearm responsibly MD
I originally went to pungent sound recycling cause it was the closest place to me. After the first cpl visits I kept going back because the staff is great. They get you in and out. If you’re square dealing with them they’re square dealing with you. Great place for all your recycling needs.
I simply love the crew! They are friendly and helpful. They are organized and quick to get you in and out. It's a small yard that is not intimidating like the bigger yards. Prices are decent. Family owned and operated, and it shows!!! Thanks crew for all you do to help me when I come in!!! My personal favorite yard Pierce County.
Amazing scrap yard! I have tried almost every yard in the area and they are by far the best. They are not the biggest but everyone who works there is so helpful and they all have integrity. They always give me the best prices and don't try to low ball me because I forgot to remover something. Plus if they are not busy they always help me unload.
great place, first time dealing with these guys and am happy i tried them out. the guy helped me sort all my wire so i could get the best price for what i brought. walked away with more than i expected. ill be seeing them again in the future for sure.
Opened almost hour late, employees standing outside waiting to go to work, no signs notifying change of hours. Then didn't pay as well as other locations around area. Not a bust just not impressed.
Helpful and friendly staff. I visited this place for the first time because I had cleaned up around the house and had mix of whole bunch of metals. I found it easy to deal with them. I had asked how they operated since I did not know where to park or what to do. They asked me to park and they brought Bins to my truck. They even told me how to separate items to get most out of my recycling. All in all, a very good experience. It is nice that you don't have to pay to dump your metal items but rather get paid and knowing that it will be recycled into something else rather than going into landfill.

Highly recommended! I've been recycling metal for the last 6-7 years as a supplemental income. I started using Puget sound 2 years ago and now prefer to take my metal here. The prices are always fair, if not the highest. The staff is honest and kind and they pay cash. Great place to recycle metal!
We are happy we found Puget Sound Recycling. 2 truck loads of misc metal. We would have had to pay to rid of at the local dump. We happily emptied our truck, And came back a few days later with more. Friendly and assisted with the unload. Thank you!
The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I've been scrapping copper here for a couple years now and they offer fair and competitive prices. People need to realize that market prices fluctuate so plan ahead!
Only had a chance to use them a couple of times, but was very pleased by the friendly staff and speed of service. I'd use them more often if they were just a little closer because they pay more, but for the amount I take (mainly cans) just doesn't offset the cost of the drive.
