Shady place. I went in for what I believed was a bearing issue, which caused noises —I was about 85% sure that was the problem and told them so. Initially, they told me the noise was coming from the transmission and that it was a transmission issue. I was really shocked, and they said they would run transmission diagnostics to rule out other problems. The next day, they changed their diagnosis and said it was actually a bearing issue. When I asked for any records or documentation supporting the transmission diagnosis, they had none. The only record they provided showed that they used a chassis ear to detect the noise, which actually indicated the noise was coming from the bearing. In the end, I paid $850 to replace the bearing assembly.

Took my car in for an oil change to see the difference between the dealership. Keith was great at educating and talking me through the items I needed to address. He also was kind enough to bring my attention to coupons and deals they have going on at the moment. I will be back!

They were able to get my car fixed in a timely manner, efficient and respectful. A little expensive, but most car repair shops are these days. I like that they have warranty on parts and labor!

Greg's Japanese Auto is my new go to shop. I brought in my MINI Cooper to have the serpentine belt checked but initially I wasn't specific about the inside of the belt had possibly bad cracks. I came back the next day to have them check on work another Auto shop had done and they confirmed my oil gasket was improperly installed. They double checked my belt and found it was cracked. I had them replace it and was very happy with the outcome and I will definitely be using them for future maintenance and work on my car. Thanks Keith and Mike!

Went there for a second opinion on very expensive work recommended by dealership. They determined that none of the conditions noted by the dealership months ago existed, such as cracked belts or drive shaft seepage.

Greg's fixed my brakes fast and fabulous. I couldn't ask for better service and rates. Also, they could have profited by doing unnecessary work but they refused and saved me a ton of money. I really appreciated their honesty and fair dealings.

My CEL started flashing a few days ago and my 2001 Acura TL started running very rough. It has 160,000 and change miles on it but still runs fantastic. It's my daily to get me back and forth from work so I needed it to keep running. I immediately booked an appointment with Greg's Japanese Auto (Southcenter location). They had an opening the next day. They did the diagnostics and emailed me the quotes I requested so I could set up financing. They replaced spark plugs, coil packs and cleaned my injectors. I will save up for the valve adjustment in a few months. The staff was amazing as usual and got the car done the next day. Thank you Greg's for putting me back on the road!!!

I will not return here again. The store manager mike made it difficult to use a coupon on a previous visit so I paid full price. I let that go. This week they emailed me a 29.99 oil change cyber monday offer. My dad just passed, and he left me this old car so I thought I could take care of it. I was told 45 min. on the phone. When I arrived again, I showed Mike the email with the offer and he said theres "no code". I pointed out the code in the fine print which he clearly already knew because he finished reading it out loud as I said it. Then he told me the oil change would be 2 hours. When I asked if he could honor the original 45 minutes because I had to work he replied everyone wants a 29.99 oil change and "we are double booked" even though it was 10 am no customers in the lobby, and there and two bays were open. If you do not want to honor the coupon then stop sending it. I I was involuntarily added to the mailing list when I got my first oil change. I did not ask to be solicited nonstop and then be treated so POORLY. So rude, unbelievable. It is disappointing because this was for my dad and he always changed the oil himself.

After the dealership quoted just under 12,000.00 for repairs (cam cover gasket leak, broken drivers side wheel axel) and several other service items we decided to get a second opinion at Greg’s. Greg’s reinspected and did a ultraviolet engine diagnostic and all recommended repairs were quoted at 4400.00, then we discussed every detail of the job they recommended and once we had a chance to discuss the service history in more detail we added spark plug replacement, serpentine belt replacement, a new starter and coolant flush because the dealership didn’t even include these important items that should be done or just made sense at 100,000 miles. They not only provided necessary repairs they made sure our vehicle was not going to break down or fail from other possible wear and tear conditions that are typical for the current miles and estimated next 6 months. We were in shock that many items had not been included in the recent quote or any previous ‘recent’ maintenance visits to dealer. Greg’s truly cares about the overall safety and operation of your car in the long term. Greg’s also recommended a engine and under carriage steam cleaning to remove oil that leaked everywhere when the cam cover gasket leaked ( the auto detailer they sent us to was reasonable price and they did a fantastic job!) . We plan to bring our car to Greg’s every 6-8 months for a check up, or as needed for shocks or other maintenance. With regular maintenance Greg’s is confident we will be able to keep our Subaru running it top shape for another 7, 8, even many more +++ years, and we are thrilled! Greg’s not only does great work, they have great connections to other services you may need that they don’t provide. You’ll get the best service and fair prices at Greg’s.

I took my RAV4 to Greg’s in late October because my mom dropped her wallet down the side of the back seat. Since the hybrid battery is underneath the seat, I didn’t feel safe trying to remove anything myself. The manager (Michael) assured us they could handle it, and when we picked up the car he told us they had “earned every penny” retrieving it. My mom’s wallet came back scratched, but we let that go. About a week later, the cover for the hybrid battery compartment fell out. It no longer stayed in place at all, clearly something had been damaged during their attempt to get the wallet. I hadn’t touched that area before or after the visit, especially after being told not to mess with the battery. I finally had time to return today. The same manager looked at it, popped the cover back in (still loose), then went inside. When he came back, he told me it would be around $50 to replace the cover. I explained that the issue didn’t exist before their work and must have occurred while the technician was accessing the seat. His response? “Well, I didn’t break it.” Obviously he didn’t, he works the front desk. When I pointed that out, he shifted to questioning why I hadn’t come back sooner, with a tone that made it clear he was implying this was somehow my fault. I asked if this was really how they conduct business and he simply repeated, “I didn’t break it.” When I said I would be writing a review, he mockingly replied, “Fine, go write a review.” The complete lack of accountability and professionalism was shocking. Rather than stand behind their work, they tried to charge me for a part they broke, denied any responsibility, and spoke to me condescendingly throughout the interaction. I’m not poking around the hybrid battery compartment for fun, this damage happened during their service, and being blamed for it was incredibly frustrating.

Came in for a new clutch and transmission seal and the work performed was excellent. Mike and Keith both helped me out and they treated my truck like it was their own. Keith insured my truck was stored in a locked garage each night so it was safe from theft. Mike was able to warranty my clutch kit and saved me 800$ in parts! I appreciated their professionalism and how they catered to my needs (late pickup / late drop off). Would recommend getting your car worked on here.

This place saved my life!! Literally!!! I used to go to a dealership service center. However, that service center failed to inspect a cracked brake pad in my car. Greg's was able to inspect and fixed the issue. Had I not taken my car to Greg's, my car's brakes would have failed and I could have been killed in an accident. You guys are true life savers!!

After a mess of an experience at a nearby dealership, the folks at Greg's helped properly diagnose the issues with my 2017 Subaru Outback and get it back on the road in a couple business days. IFYKYK that Outbacks in certain year ranges can have some sealant and gasket issues, and the analysis by the mechanics at Greg's made the difference of thousands of dollars worth of maintenance. They were responsive, professional, and honored their quote for the work done. Will definitely be returning for bi-annual maintenance!

Friendly staff, and it seems the quality of the work is there. They listen to your concerns and do the best they can to work with you. Great shop and I do recommend, just expensive! Overall, I'm a very satisfied customer and they do a digital vehicle inspection with every service which is great but they tend to find more work to do.

I went in cause I was having car troubles, and I agreed to a price for work to be done and I get there and they have doubled it. After that he said he would lower it to a different price and after I pay I realized he didn’t change the price to what we agreed to again. And then a week later my car started having the same problems and I asked for a refund and he said he wouldn’t and then lied to me when I asked for the supervisors number.

Cisco worked with me to get my car done quickly and all repairs needed were done. The coupons also helped lower the repair costs. Greg's did a great job diagnosing and fixing my Leaf based on warning lights that had turned off. I appreciate all they did for my car. I recommend Greg's for anyone else's car needs. Thanks Greg's.

Just had my minivan aligned at Greg's in Tukwila after DIYing the strut assemblies. Had coupon in hand, but they gave me an even better price! Answered all of my questions & concerns and had my car back within a couple hours (walked to Southcenter for lunch + shopping). Also had a pre-purchase inspection and a coolant leak diagnosis on other cars previously so this makes 3 positive experiences with them. I’d give 10 stars if Google would let me. I came in for an oil change and got an honest inspection with two recommendations of service. Was able to take care of both recommendations without breaking the bank. Service was fast, courteous, and above all trustworthy. Highly recommend.

My truck battery and starter failed at the same time. I had it towed to a major car dealership service department that I had faithfully used for 13 years. They quoted me for replacement starter and additional work they insisted was necessary. I got a second opinion at Greg's...we called, towed my truck over, spoke with me briefly after hours and had my car done the next businesses day before 5pm for less than a THIRD of the dealership quote. I will be using Greg's in the future.

I have been going to Greg's Japanese auto in Tukwila WA. for over 3 years now. Their customer service, excellent. They take pride in what they do. They understand each customer's situation is different. So they take time to work with the customers directly. To understand your budget and what needs to be fixed first, and what can wait. I have a 2011 Lexus . I am hanging on to for sentimental reasons. Where if it's not one problem with it. It's another had an slow oil leak and a few other engine problems they told me what they would do to slow the oil leak, they cleaned my engine. So clean I thought it was brand new. when you call, they try to get you in as soon as they can. No hidden fees. Honest, reliable. What else is left to say?

Greg’s Japanese Auto performed unauthorized work on my car and continues to dodge accountability. I’ve had to return twice for repairs due to issues with the keys they provided. On top of that, I was treated with complete disregard and laughed at after telling Michael Tyler, the manager, that I felt taken advantage of because I was charged $1,266 for work I never approved.There was zero empathy or professionalism. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone expecting transparency or quality.

I recently had my car serviced for an oil change, and the team was incredibly efficient and helpful. The service was completed quickly, and the store manager MIKE went above and beyond to provide an excellent discount. While I did notice the odometer wasn't reset, I appreciated the manager's responsiveness and willingness to compensate for this oversight. Overall, I had a positive experience.
