Recycle cardboard and box are easy and free , I went in the morning so no car at all . I was able to recycle peacefully as there no parking spot for u to park .
I had to dispose a broken mirror, batteries and a blender blade. Louis was extremely helpful and gave me the right guidance.
Went on a Sunday morning and there was only one other person there. I was out of the facility in 10 mins.
Well maintained, clear signs and helpful staff.

The staff was so nice! I'd never needed to dump trash before, but both the layout of the facility and the friendly staff made it a very simple process. Very glad I had the experience I did.
Polite and courteous staff. Fairly clean, considering this is solid waste. Could have a few more options in recycling, such as Styrofoam and a metals bin. Overall pretty good transfer station.
Very kind customer service. Easy to get to and back in. It was unfortunate someone lost their life due to falling in. The new gates are great but as a smaller person I have trouble with lifting stuff over. Thankfully the people working are kind enough to help if needed.
It was very busy the day I was there. The line moved at good pace. Got there early on a Saturday and there was no line.
They are now charging $30 for any kind of mattress.
Someone else commented on the new curbs that have been installed to keep me safe. Oh my thank heaven the suits at WM were so thoughtful. I would have backed my Prius right into that hole.
Now that the curbs are there, my pickup pulling my 5x8 utility trailer is too long to fit. Ridiculous! 25' max rig length.
I had very bad experience with one staff today. I asked this (blond guy with mustache) to help me to throw a mattress in the pit, he wouldn't he told me I was pretending to be disabled and the station is self service (he wouldn't tell me his name (6/8/22 at 11:30 AM
Used to be the nicest dump and the easiest to use. Somebody was stupid and now they put tire blocks in every spot an additional 5+ feet away. I would gladly sign a waiver to use a "non-road block" spot and pull up to the dump area for ease.
This is a very organized dump, and more expensive, compared to what I'm used to in a small town in the South. I saw that recycling is free for the most part. I came with two old vacuum cleaners that were both not very good at suction anymore, so I felt bad giving them to the thrift store. They took it at this center, but I didn't realize the line was about 3 cars long in the back, after you drive up to where you actually unload your waste. I really appreciated that they were clear I had a $25 minimum. I liked this because I know I had so little to dump compared to truckloads people had all around me. At the actual unload, I didn't like that you have to back-in park. I am not very good at that, but because I had so little to dump I think I was able to get away with such bad parking for the time I was parked.
Social distancing protocols and everything worked great. Lots of people over the weekend but if you have a couple minutes to wait the dump is open and ready to go. Lots of area for recycling stuff too
Nice staff and they are open till right at 5:30. I showed up with minutes to spare. But on my way out I realized how expensive it is at $160 a ton. Ouch
They have implemented social distancing at Houghton, which means every other offloading slot is blocked off to keep ample space between patrons ...
It only took me 30 minutes to get from the scale to actually start offloading my truck, so it still went pretty smoothly.
I am grateful the facility was open, and I also appreciate the personnel who were there working with the public, providing an essential service.
I’ve been using this station for last few years and today I drove all the way to the station and they didn’t let me to dump !!!!! They are saying new supervisor said no trailer over 30feet which is mine is 31feet long! I think if supervisor wants to do it right need to higher one more person for guiding The cars like Lynwood location, I’m so disappointed with this supervisor
A little pricy but it feels great to get rid of junk. I love that the recycling area is free but they started a new policy (January 2018, I think) where corrugated cardboard must be separated out from other recyclables. No big deal. Just a heads up. Very easy to use place. I have been going there for years, now. Very friendly staff. Services have always been available and speedy for me. Pretty clean facility, considering it's a garbage center. They make "dump-runs" an easy experience!
The employees here are the best! I think they told me they are on B shift! I will only come here on that b shift those guys are the best!!! Love watching them crush garbage with their machines!
Easy to use dump just get weighed before and after your load and you are charged accordingly. This specific transfer station doesn't let you dispose of appliances and home televisions. Also starting in January 2018 you need to separate and recycle all cardboard so you cant mix it in with garbage that your dumping. Other than these 2 specific rules the only thing that I dont like about this dump is the 3 yellow cables that are at the edge of the compactor if you have large items to dump its definitely a little bit complicated to get those items over or in between the chains and into the compactor definitely bring a second person with you if that is the case. Other then that the dump is pretty straight forward you pay when you get re weighed and then your done and on your way.
Easy access... Efficient & well run... They also take mattresses - cost is whatever the minimum (approx $25); therefore, load up your car with things to dispose of at the same time to make use of that $25.
Fast and easy garbage and large item drop off.
Note there is a $25 minimum under 150lbs.
You pull in and get on the scale. Get a ticket. Drop your items off/unload.
Exit to the scale which weighs the difference to calculate what you dropped off.
Fairly efficient and clean for a dump. The people that work there are friendly and helpful. Inexpensive way to clean out you house, etc. The only negative is they won't take certain items, but that's an issue with the county, not the facility.
