Update March 2026: Still no attempt by Cline’s to make this invoice right. Our insurance passed a significant amount of it on to us. Cline's feel free to reach out if any expenses were invoiced by mistake and I'll be happy to update my review. As it stands, these charges seem outrageous for the services provided.

Towing charges for accident scenes and roads seem unregulated in Virginia. $4020 bill after a Mini Cooper accident on I-81. Initial $3420 are related to towing after the accident. Remaining $450 & $150 are for storage and second tow.

They were fast to respond and had an accurate eta. They worked hard getting our vehicles out of the snow and still gave us a reasonable price.

Where do I even start. Truly the best auto services & towing company I have ever seen and experienced. I couldn’t be more thankful and greatful that I came across clines auto services & towing llc. As you can see we had an incident in I-81 when our tire popped due to an object that wasn’t visibly seen on the road, which caused us to loose control of the wheel and crash into the guardrail. Thankfully we weren’t injured. Thanks to God. And when the sheriff arrived we had told him that our insurance company was sending a tow truck in about an hour or two. He then told us to cancel cause he knew a guy that would come in about half an hour. Billy the owner arrived in 20 minutes.
When we originally got in contact with our insurance company we were told to have a uber or Lyft on standby due to them not taking us. Billy the owner went out of his way to take us to a hotel that was nearby , not only did he take us but he made sure we got a room as we were a bit shaken up. And proceeded to tell us our next steps and how we should proceed. He then told us that he would be picking us up tomorrow noon after church. He did just that. He arrived with his lovely wife right after Sundays church to take us to his auto shop to get our stuff incase we weren’t able to see our truck again. (I forgot to mention we were heading to Texas with our belongings due to my dad having a brain stroke ) nonetheless we needed a rental to get to Texas due to family crisis. Which is where his lovely wife came in to help us get a U-haul rental. Not only did she help us but she gave us a significant amount of a discount!!!! I have no words to express my gratitude for what Billy & Tammy (his wife) did for me and my boyfriend . They were Angels sent!! They helped us out in out time of need/desperation. We even kept in contact with them to inform them when we had arrived. I will forever be thankful to Clines auto service & towing llc!! I don’t know how to ever repay them back I hope and wish that God continues to bless them and continues to allow their business to flourish for all that they’ve done!! I will forever be greatful to Billy & Tammy . Truly the most humble, professional, thoughtful people we have ever came across with !! May God continue to bless and flourish your business . I am so thankful for the team/family at Cline’s for their exceptional service. We broke down 2 days before Christmas in the middle of an 9-hr drive and had our car towed to their shop which was nearby. Our tow truck driver (different company from Cline’s) had nothing but great things to say about their service. The shop was clearly busy when we arrived but they took the time to do some preliminary tests to give us some answers before the holidays. They were honest, friendly, and upfront about everything. The repair was done quicker than expected and at an honest price. Highly recommend this business; everyone made it obvious that they care for their customers!

Just traveling through…an RV tire lost half its air pressure just as we pulled off I-81 Rural Retreat exit for refreshment….we had a spare but could not get the lug nuts loose! Clines said they’d send someone over, but once we realized they were only a mile and half away we took our chances and drove there…quick & friendly, he found the leak …fixed it …$20 and we are back on the road in well under an hour!! Wow, what a great place to find! What could have been a nightmare, a nice experience! Thanks!

I called for a quote for uhaul in the end we discussed it and went with enterprise instead. Left for a one day trip we had saved for after losing everything in a flood. The wife of this company who runs the uhaul services called my references because she made us fill out an entire application, social security number and all just to get a quote that we didn't even really need or use. We were just price checking. She called my 78 year old aunt and told my entire family we had stolen a van in New Jersey. That my family needed to pay her. As soon as I got back to Virginia from North Carolina it made my trip hell. All the lies and rumors and multiple phone calls to my family. To go along with numerous harassing calls she tried to defraud a 78 years old woman. Don't rent from them if you can help it they tried to charge me almost 500 dollars for a uhaul van I never rented then told my entire family in many many calls we stole from uhaul. We did not even rent from them or uhaul but she wanted that money and I told her call the police she was threatening me with and let her have a few choice words of my own. Thanks for ruining my vacation. It was only one day and was really special to us. Be careful or she will call your family and friends and try to make them pay her. These people Are Scammers liars who try defrauding people who even think of being customers.

When our RV broke down on a Friday afternoon, we thought we were in town for the weekend. Cline's towed our motor home and trailer to their shop and had us back on the road within a couple of hours. Friendly and competent, they diagnosed the issue and resolved it quickly for a fair price. I'm grateful to Billy and his team, and if I have another unfortunate breakdown in the future, I hope it's near Rural Retreat so I can call Cline's again.

I can’t speak highly enough about Cline and this business. My car broke down in the middle of a 12 hr drive and I found myself “in the middle of nowhere” with no brakes and a blown tire and on a Sunday when everything was closed. Cline came and got me towed off the road, Made sure I had a ride to a local hotel (with my two dogs and a cat) and made me a priority first thing the next morning to get me back on the road. He also sent his wife to come pick me up from the hotel and had me back on the road as early as possible the next morning. He even followed up with me on my road trip to make sure I was set and made it to where I was going. Superb service and small town vibes who will treat you like family!!!

Cline’s Auto Service & Towing has been by far the best shop I’ve ever come across. During my 2,600 mile trip to my new job location my engine fans let go on a Friday afternoon near their location. They picked me up in no time and towed me to their shop. They were able to order the part for the next day and the mechanic went above and beyond to come in on their day off to fix it so I could be to work by Monday. They even gave me a ride to a hotel near by and let me keep my truck at the garage. I come from a small town in Maine and it felt just like home. Best customer service you could ask for and so much more than you would get anywhere else. Very patriotic and I cannot thank them enough for what they did for me. Highly recommended

Mr. Billy Cline literally saved our lives. We ladies were left stranded on I-81-S, mile marker 64.1, by a State Trooper with a flat tire in a rental without a spare. Thank God for him! When everyone else said they couldn't help, he came ready. As promised, Mr. Cline, we will never forget your generosity and kind heart. If we could give you a million stars, we would. We would recommend his services over anyone else's in that area!

Cline's saved our stranded family. We hit a deer in our rental car and needed to be towed off the highway. They brought two trucks so they could haul our minivan and our 5 passengers. When our rental company failed to get us into a new vehicle, they helped us secure transportation to go pick up a new rental car. They went above and beyond and helped keep our small kids safe and cool in their airconditioned waiting room while we were able to sort everything out. I cannot say enough good things about the kind employees doing everything they could to make our bad day better. If you live in Southwest Va or frequent 81, don't even bother with AAA. Just save Cline's number in your phone and give them a call. They will take great care of you!

Cline's towing is the BEST!! I cannot say enough about how helpful, kind and caring they are. They went out of their way to help our family. They towed our van, took us to their shop, got us a uhaul to transfer all our belongings and made sure we were ok. We were 600 miles from home and they were like family.

Billy and everyone at Cline Towing went above and beyond to help me. My trucks transmission went out. Billy came by on his way to his shop and picked my truck up. Called and got parts ordered the same day. He got the parts on Wednesday and I am picking it up today. Thank you so much Billy for everything. You have a permanent custo.er and I recommend Clune Towing to everyone. Great communication, great pricing and really good work on my truck. Took time to explain everything to me. Our car was making a loud clanky noise, and we didn't know what was going on for hours until we had to stop and get our car towed by Billy. He was very polite and made sure the car was secure while on our way to his auto shop. He tested the car to see and let us know what was wrong, and it turned out our front left tire had lost two bolts and had the rest loose. Compared to the auto shop we went to prior for the same reason, Cline's auto made sure we got the problem fixed safely. He was very smart, lovely, and did an excellent job. We are very thankful.

We had a major drivetrain failure with the whole circus on board during winter weather (Dog and baby), this gentleman arrived for a tow in minutes and was able to help us get to a rental to carry on with our trip. He found uncommon parts and had the vehicle repaired in unbelievable time. As a professional diesel technician, I can assure you this is the only shop that will work on my vehicles going forward. Trustworthy and reliable service is hard to find these days.

Billy was very kind and helpful towing us and changing our tire after we got in an accident in the middle of the highway. He got to us very fast and even recommended where to fix our tire as we are from out of town. Would definitely recommend him!

On the way to a critical job, my 2017 Ram lost a front wheel bearing, leaving me stranded just outside Rural Retreat VA. I called Cline’s and they had a tow truck to me within 20 minutes! Amazingly fast and responsive service. Billy explained that there was some collateral damage due to the bearing failure and he could get me back on the road pending parts delivery. Parts came in quickly and I was back on the road in a very short timeframe. Can’t say enough about how well I was treated and the superior quality of the work. Billy and his team at Cline’s have earned my highest endorsement!

Cline's towed our vehicle from when it was broke down on the Interstate and fixed a difficult problem. We were able to finish our trip to Florida and return to Virginia with no problems. They were so friendly and went out of their way to help us. I highly recommend this business.

It is hard to put in words how truly wonderful Billy and his crew is. We broke down on the interstate and was able to make it the exit with the help of the sheriff department who then made a call to see who was best in the area and @Clines was the name given to us. Our car had to be towed to a dealership 80 miles away and without a single hesitation Billy said he can take us. Not only did he take us he dropped us off at a hotel near the dealership. Southern hospitality at its best. Thank you @Clines and Billy you made a terrible situation so much better than it could have been.

Last fall our RV's engine seized and we were stranded in VA and we live in the Myrtle Beach area. The only mechanic in the area that was willing to replace our engine was Billy at Clines. In addition, while replacing the engine he noticed that the our tires had dry rot and gave us the option to have him replace all or some of them. The prices were reasonable, and the service was exceptional. He kept us informed every step of the way and even called after we picked it up to make sure we made home ok. Great business....

We purchased a van through a private sale in Virginia. Unfortunately we didn’t get very far and it broke down. Cline’s auto service safely got the vehicle off the highway. Cline’s Auto service quickly assessed the van and reported that the engine was indeed seized. We weren’t sure if we would put a new engine in the vehicle. They were so incredibly professional and kind yet politely said they didn’t think it made sense to replace the engine. But without any pressure he allowed us the time to come to the realization we were not sold a vehicle that was worth the $3000 we paid. He kept that van on his lot for greater than two weeks while we thought about what to do. I called today to say we would scrap the van. He called me right up to be sure I gave permission to scrap the van. He said I didn’t want you to feel bad about the purchase but said if he was at the sale he would have said it wasn’t worth $300! He eased my mind that we made the right decision and cut our losses and took the van away for us. I’m in Maine but felt the hospitality from Cline’s Auto Service & Towing.

I managed to get into a rough situation on my way from Philly to Birmingham, AL the other day - middle of the night, flat tire on a pitch black highway, and a dead battery. Cline's quickly responded, sending a driver to my only tow my car back to their shop, but he also gave me a ride to a hotel at 3:30am so I wasn't stuck without a place to stay. The next morning, they quickly diagnosed and fixed the issues, and one employee cut his lunch short so he could get me checked out and back on the road. Highly recommend these guys, super friendly and did a great job!

I just moved to Rural Retreat and just happened to move across from Cline's Auto Service. I called Billy to ask about scheduling an oil change for both my car and my daughter's car and he walked across the road to my house and got both cars and changed the oil the same day that I called. He brought the cars back to the house when he was done. I work from home so this type of EXCELLENT customer service is so valuable to me. I will be using him from here on out for any services that I may need for both cars. I recommend him to anyone that is looking for excellent customer service from a company that goes the extra mile to ensure that their customers are well taken care of. My husband and I were moving cross-country and had multiple blown-out tires on our cargo trailer. The Cline's came to our rescue and had us back on the road as fast as humanly possible. They went WAY above and beyond our expectations in service, price and kindness. These folks genuinely cared! Five stars is not enough to express our gratitude for how well they treated us!

My family of six was travelling across the state when we were in a bad collision on the interstate. Everyone was ok, but we were hundreds of miles from home and the car was wrecked. Cline's was called to tow the vehicle, but they did so much more! Some family members were transported to the hospital and the kind owners of Cline's went out of their way to make sure we all got reunited, got into our hotel, and even got our personal belongings from the car. Well above and beyond any expected service; this is the service you get from truly kind-hearted people in southwest Virginia! We were all truly blessed to be unharmed and to encounter such generous people that helped us back on our feet and on our way. Bless you all, and your big hearts!

After struggling with my Roadside Assistance service through my insurance, who left us waiting on an exit ramp outside Rural Retreat, VA with a burned out clutch for over 3 hours, I called Cline's after a passing motorist who stopped to see if we were okay suggested we call them. Bill, the owner of Cline's, told me the roadside assistance service had called him for a quote, but never followed up to have them tow my car. Bill said he could get my car towed in 15 minutes and they would drive me, my wife, and our dog to the shop to get our luggage from the car. They got there in exactly 15 minutes. They even drove us with our luggage to a motel nearby. This was on a Sunday evening and we were still 9 hours from our destination, so all we could do was get a room and figure out the car trouble the next day. The mechanic at Cline's checked out my car first thing Monday morning and confirmed I needed a new clutch. They ordered the part and had my car running a day later. I was very happy to have found the wonderful people at Cline's. I would recommend their service to anyone having car trouble in the Wytheville, VA area.
