I had a not so pleasant experience with a battery.When I tried to get reimbursement I was put through a hard process with showing documentation of receipts for the battery I had to replace.My documentation I provided was still not sufficient enough.I was asked to have my mechanic send in a picture of the machine they use to test battery’s. I think that was asking for alot and came to the conclusion triple A will do anything not to reimburse customers.I highly don’t recommend the road side assistance program or buying battery’s from them. They do not put the customers first.

Let me preface this by saying that my father and brother owned a towing company in md, DC, VA for 30 years, and were AAA contractors for most of that. I was their receptionist from the age of 8, so I am pretty familiar with AAA and some other auto clubs. When I moved from Fredericksburg to Northumberland county, I got an AAA membership. You can't get anywhere out here in less than 30 minutes. I was surprised to see that the Plus membership was not offered on the Tidewater brochure, but I just assumed that they had done cost/benefit analysis and realized it would lose them money to offer 100 miles of free towing in my area. Sucks, but companies do that. I was recently towed, and even with the aaa discount, it still cost me $120. No real savings. The aaa csr was 'unaware' that Tidewater didn't offer plus. Turns out, that's because they do offer it. They just don't go out of their way to let you know that they offer it. (I looked it up online after the big tow bill.) I changed my membership to Good Sam. They are rated higher, and I'm just really done with AAA. Hopefully Good Sam will be better. Also...my mother and other people I know of retirement age have told me that AAA has a well known habit of soliciting memberships and renewals from people who already have memberships, and who have already renewed. My mom, at one point, realized she had 2 separate AAA memberships she had been paying on, because they appear to be preying on the tendency of people to forget things. ( They send " join now" promotions to current customers, and they are spaced about 6 months away from the first account 's renewal date....) If this is true, that's pretty awful.

I went in for new brakes and pads all around and specifically told the manager Mike and the representative at the front desk that I wanted OEM parts. They assured me that I would have OEM parts. As the whistling continued I went back and was told it would eventually stop. I then took my car to the dealership and they showed me that I had been given after market parts. I called the manager Mike from the dealership and he said he didn’t know this and also said “how was he supposed to know that they were aftermarket parts?” I was charged for OEM parts and given aftermarket. AAA is scamming people!!! This was at the AAA car care center on Virginia Beach Blvd in Norfolk, VA AAA is a scam

Impossible to contact. I’ve had a membership auto renewal annually forever. Card didn’t update one time I needed it and they charged a new membership fee and 125 tow charge on-top of membership for towing for a gold member since 08. Tow would’ve been 100. Do yourself a favor they don’t offer anything special. After this won’t renew ever again. “Members delete after 95 days” and no way of seeing my membership status since 08. The tidewater section is a joke.

Waited (6) hours for a tow truck to arrive. I was livid when I did get someone on the phone. I never got an answer to why they kept me waiting for such a long time. I asked how would they make it right, they sent me a ($5) Starbucks gift card. I do not encourage anyone to sign up for AAA services.

On February the 6th, I attended a senior driving class, and I left my sunglasses on the floor. I received a call on my cell the next day and since It was late in the day, I said I would pick it up the next day. I was pleasantly surprised because my glasses were cleaned and placed inside of an envelope with my name on it. Now that is.what I called service!!!!! I also enjoyed the class also, the teacher was great. Keep up the good work!!!

10/23/2023 Pulled up and sat in his truck for 30 minutes while I changed the tire. Never got out, never introduced himself, never made ANY effort to assist. Operator tried to tell me there was some confusion. No, we are in a tiny parking lot @ Camelot tobacco food mart, the only vehicles were my truck and and the red Dodge, that had 2 service calls reported that we were changing the tire on. He just didn’t give a damn. Save your $$$

Went to AAA to get an EZpass. The wait for very short, the service was good and the employees were professional and kind. It was a quick process and relaxing environment. The only thing I would recommend is that the employees were a little more interactive with customers while they were sitting in front of them. It was the lady's first time doing any EZpass herself (guessing she is a newer employer), but she was kind and apologized for the wait while the surpvisor assisted.

Haven't used aaa in awhile. Didn't realize you can't get your car towed if the tags are bad. I've had them tow things in the past for less . Why do I have this service if I can't use it. So now I have to spend more money or drive illegally to get my car home. Thanks for nothing aaa.

After submitting a request online for auto insurance on 09/23/22 I got a call from Kandis on 09/24/2022, giving additional information that was needed and I'm still waiting a call back. So, if you're wanting for a call back don't wait for Kandis to be a woman of her word, because I still haven't gotten a call back yet. I just went with someone else.

Your car care center in Chesapeake is horrible. I spent hundreds of dollars and the check engine light is still on. My wife loved AAA and she was a member. Based on her experience I went to the AAA car care center expecting honest good work. I got the opposite. Your car care center is horrible and you are too. No management team would allow this to go on unless they agreed and approved that poor performance was desired. At best they are totally incompetent most likely they are cheating the customer. If you can't fix this then the entire executive management team and the immediate manager of that shop should be removed. You should be ashamed. Don't you audit the shops performance? Do you care about AAA's reputation? SHAME SHAME SHAME!

Battery replaced twice in four months.. I wish I could provide five stars with this review, but I couldn't because of the corporate response to my problem. First, I want to send a BIG SHOUT OUT to our technician, Nasheun Akridge!! He was fantastic! He arrived within 10 minutes of my call. He was so polite and explained everything he was doing while checking the battery for a proper charge. If I was in this business, I would do my best to steal him away and work with my company. The AAA corporate response to my battery failing after four months was very poor. AAA said they would not honor the warranty because my wife didn't drive the car very much since the last replacement four months ago! She drove it about 5,000 miles. I have never heard of this logic. They also asked me how long I have been a member... Should that matter? If I was a member of 25 years instead of 12, would they have honored the warranty? I think their batteries may be defective or old and they are losing too much money, justifying their internal corporate reason for not honoring the warranty. I am considering canceling my service because of this incident. PLEASE shop around for roadside services and read reviews before choosing a provider.

Have Premier Tow Service. Broke down outside of Williamsburg. Was bounced between 3 tow companies for 2.25 hours before being told they would not be able to give me an estimate of when I could get towed because none of their contract tow companies wanted to leave the south side for a pick up. The best the guy on the phone could recommend was that I call a local tow company, pay for a tow home and HOPE I could get my tow reimbursed by AAA. We've used AAA for 45 years but this might be the end of that run. What good is paying for a service when you're told you need to find your own tow truck?

Fleet technician came out to jump our car and cracked our battery. He tried to cover it up and then said I can't do anything for you and left. I called in a complaint to customer service and got the run around for a week as to who i was supposed to be talking to about this. Finally talked to Amber the fleet supervisor who was sweet and apologized for the run around and had me a new battery within hours of taking to her.

I recently went to the office to get passport photos. With the premiere service, a set of photos is free. The woman who helped me also gave a recommendation on which post office was best to register for the passport so that I wouldn't have to wait months for an appointment. I went to the office on a Saturday. Even though the hours posted on the door indicated they were open, I wasn't sure because there were no cars in the lot. I guess they must have employee parking in the back.

Yesterday we called AAA needing to have a tow. We did wait a good amount of time BUT we were not stuck on the side of the road nor were we in danger. The driver we got was absolutely amazing! My father had a tow truck business for over 50 years in the last 20 years he was in business he was a triple a tow truck driver. Avion, if I spelled it right, was knowledgeable, patient, and extremely thorough. He knew he was doing and was extremely professional and I would highly recommend the service especially if you can have him be the one who responds to your call. He definitely is a gem.

So I requested tow service on May 2, 2021 and the app stated that that the drive would be there in 30 minutes. Since they did not show up in 30 minutes, I called and no one answer in the call center. I tried to call for about a hour. When someone pick up they hung up on me. So I email on May 3, 2021 and have not got response from AAA. I got charged for service that I did not receive. I have been a member off and on for years. I am not planning renewing my membership.

I don't recommend buying from from groupon. I received poor service from AAA 800 number when trying to redeem it and get roadside service. Once I spoke to tidewater associate I was able to resolve issues and she had great customer service.

I applied for 2 International Drivers' Permits by mail. I called to determine how to make out my check and was very pleased with the service I received. The permits were processed faster than anticipated and I received the documents in 10 days. When I called I was also advised that if you apply by mail, the fee is $20 per permit plus tax.

Just an FYI as well as a bit of venting... I've been a member of AAA roadside off & on for years. I just renewed after letting the membership lapse for a month as I was upset with 2 of the road-service visits this past year. Main reason I renewed - my son drives an older car w/ high mileage. On both occasions this past summer, we needed battery service. On both occasions, the roadside tech told me the battery was testing with OK limits. He said that he could replace it, but since it tested OK, they could not honor the warranty or replacement guarantee. Both batteries were less than 3 years old. Fast forward to a few days later & both batteries died. I did NOT get the new batteries thru AAA. Ending up spending the $$$'s someplace else. I get that no one wants honor the warranty..... Everybody wants maximum profits with little expenses. But....not only did the roadside techs not really help, AAA lost the sale of 2 batteries. Starting to guess if I really need the coverage... Just stating my experience....

My SUV gave out Thursday night at the corner of S. Military Highway & Corporate Blvd. I managed to coast to a parking lot. When I finally got in touch with AAA, they were quick to get a tow truck flat bed to me. The AAA person I talked to told me that due to covid-19, I was not allowed to ride with the tow truck driver so I called a friend ahead of time to meet me before the tow truck got there. The AAA person also let me know the name of the Tow truck company and the driver's name. The tow truck driver called me to let me know he was close. I was very pleased with the AAA service.

Disappointed is an understatement. AAA is not what it used to be. Misrepresenting roadside services is just unacceptable. Called membership services to report the incident, more bad customer service. They rip off people when they are in a vulnerable state. Buyer beware. I'll be using my auto insurance towing service option. So much for over decades of loyalty!

I have been a AAA member for 24 years, and sadly this will be my LAST. I have paid thousands of dollars over the years to provide myself and my children with AAA emergency services. A little over a week ago, my 17 year old son needed a tow on a Sunday evening. He called AAA and after a long wait, a tow truck driver from Burke's Towing responded. He roughly handled my son's car, attaching it to the bed of the tow truck incorrectly, causing $700 in damage to the tie rods and thus the alignment. The driver was unprofessional and never provided any paperwork or obtained signatures from us. After he literally "dropped" the car off of the bed of the tow truck, he split with no words. A few days later, after bringing the car to an auto shop and realizing the damage that occurred, I reached out to AAA, incorrectly thinking that since they have taken care of my family in many emergency situations before, they would back me up by holding this tow truck company responsible for the damages. NOPE. I WAS WRONG. I filed a damage complaint with Teresa in Member Relations. She then referred it to Kinesha Sutton with AAA Tidewater. I provided documentation from the auto shop about the damages as well as pictures of damage. When the car was in the shop, I even attempted to invite someone from AAA to see the car on the lift so that they could see the damage. Ms. Sutton with her boss at AAA denied the claim saying they do not believe the tow caused the damage. Sight unseen. UNBELIEVABLE. And the sad thing is, AAA will continue to do business with Burke's Towing, putting more members at risk. I am BEYOND angry and disappointed that after the THOUSANDS of dollars that I have paid to AAA over the years, they refuse to take responsibility in the smallest way for the damage that their contract tow truck driver did to my vehicle. The WORST customer service experience EVER.

AAA is great. Had it since I was young adult. Helped me out odd more jams then I would like to admit. Towed my truck when it broke down, jump started my truck and helped me get in when my son locked my keys in the truck. Changed a flat tire and even help when planning a trip. The corporate office is huge. Great staff.

We broke down and immediately called Triple A. It was 630 they texted saying they would be there at 702. It is now1003. Still no tow they now say 1030. This is the worst service ever. Thank god my cousin came and picked up my elderly mother who is on oxygen. We have never had issues like this. Absolutely horrible. We were on rte 13 headed to the bridge and told we are in an inconvenient ares. Really....really so we sit here for over 4 hrs. Totally unacceptable.

I called since Saturday and they said they're only responding to emergencies. I'm not sure why my car flooded out up to my knees wasn't an emergency and with no where to go in the storm wasn't an emergency but no one came to help me. It is now Monday and no one still can come tow my car. Last night they had told me someone was on the way so I got a ride there to my car and waited over two hours, then they called me back to say never mind. I don't know what the point of having this service is at all. My whole family of 7 pays to have it every month and I am wondering what the point of it is if they can't help you in a true emergency. Extremely disappointed in their service. And I do not ever go driving in bad weather, but it was my family's wedding and the meteorologist gave a terrible forecast this weekend also and it was way worse than they had predicted. Very upset with their service. Car is still in the road. Totaled.
