My first time to a junk yard was here. I was not thrilled to have to tell them I needed new seats but that I had no idea what to look for. As a young female I am always scared to ask men for help with cars because I have consistently been treated like a dumb young child however it made my day to pull up here and get the help I needed without anything out of the ordinary. I got the info I needed and even though I didn’t leave with what I came for I left feeling happy I was respected and well helped. Good people! Thanks again.
Cars and trucks stacked everywhere. You will find what you need but surprised the owner wasn't easier to negotiate with. Bought tailgate cables and side mirror for bronco.
Absolute playground for old fords. Three Broncos and like 10 rangers, f150s absolutely everywhere. A bunch of s10s also and Nissan trucks. Old busses and project cars but they are straight up stacked like jenga. Bring tools and be careful. Not much glass, mostly broken or cracked but could find something complete.
I went here to get a new bed for my truck. I negotiated with the owner and we agreed on a price. It was a good price, though lart of the deal was i had to take the bed off myself. No problem I thought. Hours say 9-5, I got there the next day about 4:15 and no one was there. Strike one.
The day after I arrived with my friend to help me take the bed off at about 8:55, hoping maybe since they close early they would show up early. We waited around for about 40 minutes, with 5 other potential customers coming and going, until the owner finally arrived. Strike two.
The owner came, unlocked the gate, and tore off, leaving his son in charge, that's where the real problems start. I go down there, take the bolts off the old bed, and come back to the entrance to tell the son I'm ready to take the bed off. He tells me they need to change the price.... To almost double what I paid, claiming I told them the bed had more dents than it did. I should have left there, but I had already invested so much time I really wanted the bed, so I offered to meet them in the middle and pay about 1/3 more than we originally agreed on. Strike three.
Son told me he didn't have the power to negotiate, only the dad can do that. We tried calling the dad about 10 times over 30 minutes and he never picked up. I wasn't gonna pay nearly double what we agreed on so I left. Seems the dad doesn't trust the son. He might have good reasons for that, but if so he should find someone competent to leave in charge.
If the above was way tol much to read, here it is short: owner is either a jackass who doesn't trust his son, or his son is an idiot and neither of them understand how to run a business. If you go here be prepared to have them change prices on you and make you wait on them. Go anywhere else.
Been getting my parts here for a lot of years. Crawford's is fair and quick. They always have what I need, when I need it, and the owner is always willing to honor his word. I have gotten a quote on the phone, found that what I actually needed was a more expensive part than what was quoted, and gotten that part at the quoted price anyhow. If you have the option to do business here, do it. You won't be sorry.
