You know I came here after getting some really bad customer service at O'Reilly's which sucks because I have an account there and I've spent thousands of dollars on car parts there since I've been doing my own vehicle repairs and I just had such bad service there it made me feel really unwelcome and so I ended up at advance Auto and they were so kind and so helpful I got what I needed and I'll appreciate them for being alive thank you guys so much

The nicest woman I've ever encountered behind the desk at the Patterson location, very helpful , very kind, fast and smart, not too mention very pretty lol , but seriously all qlrund good store
I went to this one looking for a part. Guy with a fanny pack around his shoulder with a phone said they couldn't even order it from the factory. Went to another advance and they had the part. Get people in this store that knows about cars
Had car trouble today and ended up broke down and waiting for help in this parking. The store manager was kind enough to come out and offer help without me even asking. She was super kind and very knowledgeable. I was fixed up and going in under an hour. I couldn't have asked for a better place to break down! Thank you so much for the amazing service in a stressful situation!
They are always very friendly and helpful there. Was watching interaction between customers and sales personnel today. They were treating each other like family. Made me smile.
Customer service at this particular location was horrible. Stood at the counter for every bit of 10 mins and no one ever asked if I had been helped or if I needed to be helped. After 15 mins I ended up leaving and going to another Advance Auto location where I was assisted quickly and correctly by a very knowledgeable gentleman that made my visit worth the wait I had experienced at the prior location. Way to save the day employee #2!!! Lol....I'll definitely come back to this store again!
Went to the Orange Ave N.W. location and picked up a serpentine belt for my brothers 96 Ranger. I gave them the part number that I needed and the employee( I'll call her that because I'm not sure what her actual function was supposed to be) took the piece of paper from my hand look down at it, then back up at me, then turned and walked away down the aisle without saying a single word.
Went in two days in a row clearly asked for a 15/16 deep socket from the wall behind them, was told they didn't have it even though it was right behind them, went in the other day they asked if I needed help, explained to them I'm looking for a socket to remove a castle nut I was against told by the man with the 70's haircut that they didn't have the part I was looking for but here's the funny part I went in a third day in a row and as told they didn't have what I was looking for while it was directly behind the person telling me this. If you aren't a person they can't take advantage of they don't want you in their store, the incompetence is thus more proof that God is dead and we have killed him
I was driving from my small town in Virginia to Roanoke for a medical appointment. While I was driving my oil light came on. After the appointment I spotted a mailman and asked where the nearest Advance Auto Parts was located. The mailman gave me perfect directions to the store on 1020 Orange Ave in Roanoke. There I encountered the kindest, most helpful employee I have ever met! I had stopped at a few gas stations prior to going to Advance where the service was useless. Comparatively the service I received from employee at Advance was OUTSTANDING! Quietly this man added oil to my car and noticed my battery was corroded and cleaned the battery to boot! My car had been at the Subaru Dealer in Staunton less than ten days earler. The service I received from Advance Auto on Orange Ave was a hundred times better than the Subaru dealer!!! I was able to return home feeling safe and exceptionally pleased with service from Advance. I only wish is this particularly employee's store was in my town!!! Thank you for great service!!!
There staff are friendly and knowledgeable, as well as being able to keep pace with a high flow of customers at all hours of the day . I have made many purchases at this specific store by various methods, (online orders to pick up there, in-store transactions for same day parts and special order and next day pick up) I have yet to be disappointed by an experience here. Nor have I gotten home to realize I was sold the wrong part that was not of my own doing and still then returns and exchanges I have had to make have never been less complicated anywhere.
Was picking up ordered pat. Got the new guy. He was kind but didn't have the immediate support/trainer available. More training/testing needed before flying solo. Was the trainer provided appropriate training? She was very nice.
Just so you know, if you buy online then pick up your parts, they charge your card extra until they feel like taking the extra charge off. Unless it's a far better price, I will just call and put order in over phone.
Im am currently taking over this store as the general manager as of 10/14/18. sorry for anything less than great service from the staff at this location in the past. i will work vigorously to get this store back to it prime and one the leading location in your area. This place has declined since Junior Word and Walt left. Half of the staff know nothing about cars and service. Just a bunch of hippies with jobs. I remember when Walt, Anthony, Jr, and a bunch of other guys were there the service was excellent.
Bought a battery for the car.T
hey gave me the wrong one.
Had to return it and they said they didn't have return $$$ on batteries.
Finally agreed to to trade the new one for the right one....for an additional cost
Total time spent was well over 2 hours.
Wheeler and dealers...its always the customers fault.

Decent selection of inventory items and a very helping staff. The return policy is lacking, they only will give you your money back within 45 days. After 45 they give you a store credit. Nowhere on the receipt doesn't talk about this policy, only posted in a few areas inside the store. Unfortunately you do not have the store at your house with the item to read the policy. It would be nice to have that printed on the receipt.
By far THE BEST advance store I have EVER been in, the manager you have there now is someone who should be a lot higher up the food chain than a store manager
Store was spotless, got greeted as soon as I walked through the door can't ask for much more and you owe it TO THE CURRENT MANAGER !
Attn: Mr. Darren Jackson - This review is regarding Store 09443 Employee: Kevin J. - This outstanding Sales Rep. was so pleasant, so efficient, it was a pleasure to shop there. We have shopped at this location before for car batteries, windshield wipers, car wash products. Kevin came out to the car and explained the process for installing our air filter. Kevin was a delight. He was not just polite, he was so helpful, and diplomatic. He made sure our vehicle started just fine before he went back into his store and my husband and i were both so impressed with the care we received. We definitely will be back to see him; not just because he laughed at my jokes, he listened to everything and commented because he is totally interested in his customers. Thank you.
