They are great! Their mechanics do excellent work and Jay kept in touch with me on the status of my repair of my 2008 Ford Escape oil leaks. They replaced my valve cover gaskets, pcv valve and did an oil change.

Always super nice folks. I've had several inspections done there and not once did they fail it or tell me the wipers need to be replaced to pass... I have found that very common at places wanting to nickel and dime you. I plan on taking my vehicles up there for any maintenance in the future.
This place is always beyond awesome. I've been bringing car there for several years. I am willing to drive 30 minutes, or even get my car towed there from the next city, just because I know the service will always be honest, timely, and fairly priced. The service has been 110% of my expectations every time so far, as in they usually blow me away by how stellar they are. I almost don't want to write this review just because I don't want them to be too busy to look at my car the next time I need work done. It's that good.

McPherson’s Garage provides excellent, personal service that you absolutely cannot get at a chain auto shop. The front desk attendant was absolutely wonderful, huge shout out to her for making a stressful car problem easier! My vehicle had been to 4 other shops including the dealership service department where we purchased it without any resolution or guidance, but McPherson’s garage went the extra mile and found and resolved the mystery issue in quite literally an hour! I cannot recommend this shop enough and I hope they know how helpful they were! Give them your business!

I brought in my work van for inspection Wednesday at lunchtime, it needed upper and lower ball joints on the front and both sides and brake pads now here is the kicker:” all the work was done by Thursday” Totally great work and very expedient!!!!! We've been using McPherson's Garage the past 6 years that we have lived here and we have always been very happy with their work. Everything is always done in a timely manner and at a price that is reasonable. We have zero complaints and would recommend them to anyone in the area needing State Inspections or work on their vehicles.

Went there 2 weeks ago when the construction on Wythe Creek caused me to get a flat tire. Thankfully, McPhersons was right down the road , and I rolled in, and they were beyond helpful. They immediately put my spare on for me and helped me get an appointment later that day to order and replace the tire so I could get to work that morning.
Got my inspection done all at the same time. I highly recommend this garage for not only their kindness and knowledge but honest work as well.
Dropped my 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD on a Monday 7:30AM to assess a loud rasping sound under the hood upon start up that decreased as the engine got to operating temperature. No push by McPherson's garage on the status of the vehicle all day. I called 30 minutes prior to closing just to be informed that they couldn't get to it until the next day. I had to make arrangements to utilize another vehicle for work for another day. Not good, business practice. To compound the issue, I get a text the next morning at 9AM to say the vehicle was ready for pickup. No call on the assessment on what was wrong with the vehicle, just a tech narrative stating the following: "The bearings don't have play wear or noise. I think its tire noise. I used wax on the belts, no difference in sound". 1st, the sound absolutely was there, because I witnessed it the next morning I had the vehicle back in my possession. 2nd, "...I think its tire noise...", really? The sound is under the hood, not from the tires with the vehicle in motion! I ended up loosening the belt and discovered the tension pulley was completely shot (rough and loud grinding when spun by hand). Easy fix by myself inside 30 minutes...my 1st time ever performing this work. Bill was $50 for essentially a "lack of effort" IMO by the technician to properly assess the problem. You should expect better.
I was in a hurry to get a state inspection on a friends car and they worked me in. Very nice professional people, would definitely go back. Glad we have a business like this in Poquoson. Kudos.
I heard about this shop by word-of-mouth referral. This morning I got news of an unanticipated day off work so I called McPherson’s and reached DJ. I asked if they had time to squeeze in my vehicle inspection and they did! They got me in within half an hour and took care of it quickly.
They were very warm and welcoming which is lovely. There’s a warm place to wait while I stay with my vehicle and I’m really enjoying the wait.
I’d definitely recommend them and I’ll be back for future car needs.

I've brought my car here a few times over the past month getting it fixed up to then get inspected. Very satisfied with the work done, how quick they are, and the price was always at or below what they quoted. Any problems I have in the future I'd be happy to bring my car back here!

For a tiny fee of $10 they diagnosed my exhaust system problem and referred me to a specialist. Super busy but it only took 2 hours. Bought a lot of peace of mind. Highly recommended.
This has to be one of the best auto service and repair shops around!! I had an appointment for balance and rotation. I was friendly greeted and they even made sure that the service I was booked for was really needed. It was quick and very affordable! I will be coming back!!
I took my car in recently to have the A/C repaired. The people there were friendly and knowledgable. The results were awesome. Fair prices , nice work and top customer service. This was my first experience at McPherson's and I will go there in the future. This is what I would call a 5 star business.
