I found myself in a pickle driving home on I-64 when my engine died the evening of 5.29.26 (alternator failed). I was lucky enough to find Russel’s towing and the owner, Zachary Russell, picked me up and got my car to the shop.
He was professional, quick, and I hope that I never have to see him again., However, I know if I need a tow for myself, my family, or my friends that I will be recommending Zach and his team. I live in the greater Williamsburg, VA area and I’d recommend that anyone from the Richmond metro, through the Williamsburg, and Hampton Roads area reach out to Zachary Russell if you’re in need.
I had a great experience with Russell's towing. After hitting a hitch on the interstate I had two flat tires and two busted rims on the passenger side of my car. Tae, the tow operator, was extremely professional, very competent, and some how managed to take a bad day and make it okay.
Thought we had to get the car towed ,but when the gentleman arrived he suggested using his jump box and the car started. Instead of just towing it. Great customer service!
I highly recommend this company. The driver was there in 30 minutes and got my truck right out! With this ice coating everything my truck was just spinning wheels. The driver was very polite , courteous, and very helpful!! The cost was a lot less than I thought it would be too. Thank you!!!
Fast and professional. Good people. Hauled in my wife's car that wasn't drivable and kindly grabbed a few things out of the car for us and held them after the insurance company picked up the car. Kind caring people, highly recommended.
Wonderful Quick Service with a wonderful staff always willing to give you wonderful experience. Tow truck operator, Mr. Jhonson really knew what he was doing and got the job done right and fast even taking the time to answer my questions and talk with me a little bit after the job was done. That's What I Call good old-fashioned service from an outstanding company. I hope I never in a bad dituation Sunny like that again but if I am I know I'm in good hands with this company.
After a year of using their services, I have had had nothing but great work from Zach and his drivers. From rollbacks to lowboys, he’ll make it happen every time.
We had a car towed from our driveway in Farmington to Wilton Maine. The driver John was very experienced and professional. I would highly recommend this tow company.
Absolutely terrible experience. In my opinion, this is a predatory towing company. They charged $80 per day to store a vehicle in an overgrown lot, which I find outrageous. From my understanding, they did not clearly post their prices, which may violate Virginia towing laws requiring transparency. I will be filing complaints with Consumer Affairs and the BBB. For context, the average daily storage fee in Virginia is about $46, based on publicly available data.
It was a bad day… they showed up quickly fixed the issue. That’s three star service. Five stars is because they made me feel better and in the short time they were there I could tell they are just good people who take pride in what they do. That is not common - that is above and beyond expectations.
In the early morning of a Sunday, my vehicle broke down on me off interstate 64. Zach answered my phone immediately. I needed a tow but he fixed my truck instead. . I was back on the road in no time. I can’t thank him enough.
When our vehicle was towed by Russell's Towing, they charged us a 24 hour overnight storage fee when it was not left overnight and it was picked up within 3 hours of being towed. Then they agreed on a set price, but after they got my credit card and sent us the receipt, they went back in and took off another $50.00 from our credit card that we did not authorize and refused to return it. When I read many other google reviews and complaints we saw that they have done this to others. We also checked many other towing services that said there is a cap on what a towing company can charge and how they don't charge a storage fee for any vehicle that isn't left overnight. So we looked into even further and found out that it is illegal by Virginia code 46.2-1233 to charge a storage fee for a vehicle left under 24 hours and also includes not charging fees in excess of $150.00 for any passenger car. They charged us triple that fee.
I got stuck off the highway with a flat tire, AAA couldn’t anyone out for hours, called Russel’s towing and he was there within the hour and was able to get me all taken care of and on my way. Highly recommend!
Saved our night. It was dark and raining on the side of the interstate, and we had been there for hours trying to go through all the hoops of Triple AAA's system to no avail. Russell came out in 45 minutes and got us all squared away. Very professional, quick, and kind. Highly recommend. I bet we'd still be waiting if we hadn't gone through him.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, I did have the pleasure of meeting some of the team at Russell's Towing. Spoke to the owner by phone, numerous times and met others at their storage lot. Everyone was extremely easy to work with and I'd highly recommend them for all your towing and hauling needs.
Russells Towing helped me with my car and was professional and efficient. He replaced my blown out tire within minutes for a reasonable price and I was on my way. They were recommended to me when a well known roadside assistance was a no show. I highly recommend Russell's Towing.
I have to say this is one of the best towing companies I have had experience with. No job too small or too little. They took care of bringing my ford f600 dump truck home and it was a unbeatable price after calling about 10 other companies. Tae Johnson was a fantastic truck driver to deal with. He has alot of skills when it comes to towing especially big. Thank you Russels towing for taking care of me!
Waited on a tow from AAA for 4 hours. Called Russell’s Towing and he was there in 30 min. Very professional and super helpful. Hopefully I’m not having to get a tow again soon—if I am—Russell’s has set the standard.
I don't know the name of the driver but he pulled us out of a ditch on July 16th by Angel View Baptist church. He was very friendly. My husband said, he had confidence in him as soon as he said, "I'll get you out."
Wish I could post pictures of our car in the rising water ditch. We had water on the right side of our car.
