Everyone at Ed's Automotive is friendly, kind and helpful. I originally set up an appointment to have my state inspection completed. They were so efficient and conscientious that I then scheduled to have my oil changed and tires rotated. Again, the service was 5 star. The technician found that my rear wiper was torn and Ed's Automotive replaced the wiper during my visit. The strong work ethic maintained by the employees and owners is evident. I will not go any where else in Lynchburg for auto service. Ed's Automotive feels like family already. Thank you for the warm welcome and fantastic service.
Michelle and Logan are the best. I thought I had a serious electrical problem that would require another car. My 23-year old QX4 failed to start often. Michelle's mechanic too one look and diagnosed the problem and a simple fix. Instead of thousands, the fix was less than $75. Thanks Michelle and Logan.
We were caught in a time bind with two cars needing state inspections. Ed's automotive made it possible for us to get this done before we went out of town the next day. They listened to our problem and made it happen!

Yesterday, my car battery died suddenly and completely. I called Ed’s at 11 am and by 1:30 I was fixed and back on the road. No muss, no fuss, and no delay. While waiting, I was treated as one of the family like usual, got to meet the new grand-baby who is just a few days old, sit in a lovely gazebo and work outside, and say hello to the cute office doggy named Bella. An all-around pleasant experience in every way. Thanks as always to Ed’s Automotive for keeping me rolling safely down the road.

Jamie and Michelle and the team at ED's always do a fantastic job. They communicate exceptionally about options such as tire options in today's case. They have also communicated very well with me in the past about options when there are unexpected repairs needed. They give a great balance of technical information and real-world advice that helps me feel as the consumer that I can make the best decision for my family to keep my car going without breaking the bank. They are also super honest. One time I went in thinking I needed my brakes changed and they told me I had some more mileage on them. Most other places would have just changed the brakes to get the business, so I really appreciate the integrity they have. They are also just super friendly. Once, in the winter, Jamie drove me back around the corner to my home after I dropped off my vehicle to be fixed. Lastly, they have been able to handle literally anything our cars have needed over the last 3.5 years. They've done lots of routine maintenance including brakes, oil changes, lights, wipers, transmission fluid and inspections, but have also replaced an oil pan, replaced a broken mirror and worked on on our AC when a rodent found its way into the blower motor, and a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting. Keep up the good work!

I needed an oil change and state inspection (and possibly a few other services) and my best friend recommended Ed’s Automotive. From the outside it is unassuming but the customer service might be the best I’ve ever had at any mechanic. I was welcomed as soon as I came in by Logan and told to make myself at home. Michelle also greeted me while my car was being worked on and advised about what services would be recommended for my car, which I really appreciated. Everyone was very warm and genuine. I was also given estimates for future services which I appreciated. Also, I got my oil change done, state inspection, and 3 new windshield wipers for less than I would have paid for just an oil change at a Take 5 or Jiffy Lube. Was pleasantly surprised. I will be back again!
Logan, Michelle, and Jamie are great to work with and provide great communication on status and progress. They do good work, charge a fair price and never try to get us to do work that doesn't need to be done. Work is always done fast yet efficiently. Ed's Automotive has provided excellent auto service to me and my family. We highly recommend!
We were on vacation driving down the Blue Ridge Parkway in early November 2024. We got a flat near the James River Visitor Center. We switched to our spare tire and found Ed's Automotive as one of the closest automotive shops with good reviews.
Wife called them and spoke with Michelle while the boys and I were changing out the tire. She said they didn't have our tire size in stock but was sending someone out to get it asap. It took us maybe 30 mins to get there and waited maybe another 30 mins for tire to arrive and for them to change it out. Overall it went quick and smooth so we could get back on our trip. Charged us about $150 with taxes and fees.
Staff was super friendly and were happy to get back on the road to continue our vacation. Would recommend to others for tire change near this section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. They had a nice gazebo you can sit at while waiting. Very pleasant experience given the circumstances.
Friendly and cost effective
I’ve taken my car to Ed’s twice this year for routine service and some unexpected maintenance. Each time I was greeted with 11/10 customer service. Logan is excellent to speak with on the phone. The shop is extremely clean and run very professionally. I will always recommend them!
Ed’s Automotive continues a great legacy of quality car care! They do solid work in a timely manner with integrity that you can trust. They may be off the beaten path, but it’s worth it to find a shop that will maintain your vehicle in a way that is honest and professional.
