Late on a Friday l evening, I found myself stranded at a rest area just outside of Covington, Virginia. Not exactly the ideal way to kick off the weekend. Desperate for help, I reached out to this towing company—and what happened next completely blew me away. Not only did the tow truck driver answer my call promptly, but he also took the time to patiently walk me through the issue over the phone. With his expert guidance, I was able to get my car started—right there at the rest stop—without needing a tow or an in-person visit. What impressed me most was that he offered his help freely, with no expectation of payment, just pure kindness and a willingness to assist someone in need. That kind of integrity and compassion is rare. I consider myself incredibly fortunate that they were the ones who picked up when I called. If you’re anywhere near Covington or the surrounding area and find yourself needing towing or roadside assistance, don’t think twice—this is the company to call. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

I needed an emergency pick up in the morning and they responded quickly and professionally. My car was towed quickly and with the utmost care! 10/10

The air conditioning in my car all of a sudden went out and I pulled over at the Virginia Welcome Center on a Friday at 4 pm. We called Dewey’s, the driver was there quickly and was able to get us to Lodge’s Automotive who had us back on the road in no time! Quick and affordable!

Had to check on a vehicle from my work that had gotten towed there. Met Dewey and enjoyed getting to know their dog Drako. Played fetch for a few minutes with me. Great place.

My truck broke down i64 near mile marker 5.4 in Virginia with a blown gasket .called Deweys and he came within 50min. He was efficient and took good care of my truck and trailer. He was very knowledgeable and helped me diagnose my truck and also very affordable. His operation is definitely a 5 star .

Had my car towed here and was supposed to be have an estimate done to either be totaled or get repaired. It’s close to two months later and my car is still untouched. And no one can talk to the one in charge of the estimate or repair when asked about the. Including the insurance company. They’ve waited so long that the insurance closed the claim

We were stuck on the side of 64 with trucks rushing past us and AAA telling us it might be the next day before they could get there. We managed to connect with Deweys and we had help 20 minutes later. An hour later we were back on the road. Great guy, great service.

One of the best experiences I have ever had getting my car fixed. James and Dewey were very professional and talked me through the entire process. I brought my 2016 Camaro SS to this shop because I had hit a pole. James and Dewey not only fixed my vehicle but arranged to have it towed to and from where it needed to be. After I chose this collision shop, my involvement was very hands off and stress free. There was quite a bit of damage to my car. Not only were they able to fix my car, it looks brand new! It drives perfect and I’m so fortunate to have my vehicle back. Thank y’all so much for your wonderful work and amazing customer service. Will recommend you to anyone!

After three weeks on the road I was beat. My truck broke down on the mountain above Covington and by a miracle limped into Farm and Fuel. They couldn't fix it and there were no rentals anywhere. I had a load of antiques in the back and a blizzard bearing down on me. I started calling tow companies and nobody would agree to take me the hour and a half drive to my family and home that I'd not seen in weeks. I went in and Vicki had a list and Dewey was first on the list. I called him and he was at the grocery store. He said hold on let me see how far. I told him how desperate I was to get home. Finally, he said yes. He picked me up 30 minutes later (as he'd predicted) I rode with the 2nd generation tow-truck driver for near two hours. By the end I was sort of wishing we had more time. He was funny, inciteful and best of all- a very safe driver. He even let me pull over and pee (lot's of coffee) His fee was exceedingly reasonable and I paid it gladly. Dewey is like no one I've ever met- political theorist, philosopher, working class hero and good father. He's a kind and honest man and you are safe with him- he has a code and its caring for his clients. Not a single other driver was willing to help me, but he did. I'm home now with a snow storm bearing down on me and a truck full of family heirlooms unpacked and safe. I would call nobody else!!

Dewey’s 24 hour towing service responded to my call for help quickly and with complete professionalism. I had a flat tire and had been told by AAA it would be 1 1/2 hours for a tow. Internet search for a local tow company and less than 30 minutes brought Dewey’s. Not only did the driver take my car to a reliable repair shop but also made sure I had someone on the way and took me to a safe, easy to find location to wait. Thank you.

Super great service. Went way above and beyond the expectations. Even provided me with some personal transportation to a hotel and later to a car rental. My semi blew its motor and oil everywhere. Great job on the Clean up and more than fare on the price !!

I was stranded off of I64 with my horse and trailer and overheated truck. Lance came and got my truck, trailer and took them to the yard and allowed it to be stored over the weekend until Monday. I purchased a new vehicle and came and got my trailer and left the truck for a charity to pick up the next day. They were great for me with such a stressful situation and so many directions I needed to go with my horse and myself. Thank you!!!

Wheel broke off my utility trailer late Sat afternoon near Covington. Dewey's had somebody to our assistance quickly. Their driver (Lance) was very helpful and great to work with. Transported my trailer to their lot which was convenient to the interstate. Met us Sunday afternoon and went out of their way to help with loading my trailer for transport. Very friendly, helpful service.

Great service! We had a flat tire that we couldn't change it because the spare was rusted in place. Called Good Sam and they sent Dewey out, but they did not give him the details on our situation so he didn't have any way of getting the spare off either. He loaded our truck on to his vehicle, drove us to his shop, fixed the flat and sent us on our way. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Dewey has donated a insane amount of items to all the area schools,health clinics,nursing homes, and other charities. You do not see all he does behind the scene to try and help his community. Even though he is very busy he works with everyone the best he can. He knows his business and always works on getting things done better . Dewey and his staff has helped with projects and did interviews with my students about safety . Thanks

Very rude. I tried explaining to him that he couldn't tow my semi without taking the drive line out. He ignored me. Took the two passenger side axles out in the rain. Didn't cover the axles so they got water in them because it was raining. Didn't even even take the semi where I wanted it to go. Stopped in the middle of the tow to go get lunch and left me out in the cold and rain to wait for him. I called his shop several times to be told. They would have him can me back. Then someone finally convinced him the axles need to come out. So they took them out at Wal-Mart parking lot. Still didn't cover them. Finally Took me to the shop and unhooked tossed my axles in the floor and left. Didn't even put the truck back the way he found it. Then just had them tack the tow bill onto the extremely high shop bill because I had to have all the fluid on the axles changes because they had rain water in them. Had to Have studs replaced cause he broke them with a hammer beating them off. And then charged an outrageous price for 11 miles. And refuses to give me itemized bill. And my transmission is not been the same since.

My truck wouldn’t start at the rest area in Virginia. Called Dewey’s and he was there in no time at all to help me out. He cleaned my battery posts and told me I needed a new starter. He took great care of me in the 90 degree heat with my 2 dogs in the truck with me. Fantastic guy, fast and great service. Make sure you call Dewey’s before any other wrecker service!!!👍👍

The team at Deweys is amazing! We hydroplaned off I-64 into the median early on a Saturday, and they were there in 20 minutes. They brought 2 cars to get our family of 7 and all our vacation luggage to our hotel for the night, and worked to help us find a rental van 30 miles away from his shop. Offered to drive me there to pick it up! Being 8 hours from home and still 4 from our destination, they made a very bad situation to the start of our vacation very easy. I can never thank them enough!

Absolutely wonderful people. We hit a deer tonight and he was there in 25 minutes with an extra ride (there's 6 of us) towed our SUV and us to a hotel. We are almost 3 hours from our home and he made sure see got checked into the hotel before leaving. The most compassionate people I have ever met in his line of work.

I came to Covington for a family funeral. I stayed for Sunday Easter service and while visiting in the parking lot accidentally locked my keys in the car. Dewey's was recommended and called. I hated to interrupt him on Easter Sunday. He arrived in just a few minutes and had me in my car quickly. True southern hospitality. Very pleasant and nice. Can't begin to thank him enough. 10 stars!!!! Thank You!!!!!

Thank you for responding so quickly. We were on I 64 heading west and our truck just cut off. We were able to coast to the side but in a very dangerous situation. I called Dewey and it seemed like only minutes and he was there. The police did stop and that too was helpful. With his lights on it seemed a little safer. Dewey did not want us in that situation, he knows how dangerous it was. Thank you so much for your response time and taking care of us. Would highly recommend you.

10/10 would reccomend! Dewey is amazing. My boyfriend and I had gotten into an accident at 1 AM on the interstate on the way to the greenbrier resort, A couple people at the closest gas station had recommended Dewey’s towing service to come help us out. Even though it was super late, he was at our location within 20 minutes. With it being so late, we didn’t have a cab service around to take us to our final destination 20 miles up the road. Dewey was our savior! He drove us without hesitation. We don’t know what we would’ve done if it weren’t for him. We rate 10 stars! Thank you Dewey.

Dewey was just great, my truck broke down on I64 E at mm 40, he towed my truck back to his shop, it was the wee hours of the morning, he went out of his way to help me, I really appreciated everything you did, thank you, thank you! He was able to pull the car out of the ditch it was stuck inside in a timely manner. But he did so much more than just that. He gave us a lift to where he took the car, helped us get all of our stuff out of the car, and explain to us what might end up happening to our car. He was very friendly and truly went above and beyond. This was in the middle of a family trip so we all couldn't fit into one car with all the luggage. He helped us call a taxi to give us a ride to the hotel and he recommended different hotels for us to stay in. He was friendly and to the point and didn't leave his shop until the taxi arrived despite it being closing time. He truly was a big help.

My dad (Tony) was on his way to cincinatti, when he was going down 64 and his hose busted from his radiator... he was alone, no flashlight and no antifreeze. So me being almost 2 hours away knew by the time I got to him it wouldn't work. So I looked for an emergency truck service place close by and I found Deweys! Now I haven't met him personally but my dad said he showed true southern hospitality... he went and got my dad the 9 jugs of antifreeze he needed and brought it to him even helped him repair it!!! Thank you so much for helping my dad out! With everything that happened you showed him God is good. ❤️

I’ll tell you what, this man runs a top notch business. If it wasn’t for him we would still be on the side of the road and no further in getting the nitro back on the road. He has gone out of his way to help us and was as friendly and treated us as family. Not to mention we didn’t have cash and not an ATM in sight after he drove us around to another town to check and he says that’s alright just get ahold of me in the morning and if you can’t get the parts or need help getting it replaced give me a call and we will get it done. If you are out this way you have no need to worry with vehicle trouble Dewey is the one to call. Thanks again for all your help.

Thanks for the help!!! Understood that this was coming out of my pocket. And actually stood to his word. In this trucking industry that’s hard to come by. Especially he is the only one in this area so he could of been an ass. Recommendation definitely!!
