Went in to fix a tire and unfortunately it was not fixable according to sales man. 3 days later when my husband went to pick up our rim because no tire came in the previous 2 days amazingly enough it was on the rim. No communication was made by this shop to either of us. Just bad customer service all around
These guys replaced my mufflers and made some adjustments to my exhaust system on my classic ‘71 Torino GT. Awesome job! My baby sounds GREAT! Thanks guys
Had a great experience with Great Bridge Muffler and Brake. I grew up in the area, and visiting family. Needed to get state inspection done, and the inspector was starting a hair early. Was able to get my vehicle right in, and service was prompt.
While waiting in the indoor seating area, I saw other technicians speaking with other customers, and all seemed very knowledgeable, and great customer service orientation, and was friendly.
Front desk associate Jamie was very helpful and a nice guy. Don’t see shops run like this very often anymore, and if I ever needed work done, I’d probably drive all the way here to have them take care of my vehicle.
I’d highly recommend anyone that lives in the area.
I had to have service for both of my company vans before I went on a family vacation the following week. From a vehicle inspection to a/c work they got it done for me. I really appreciated them going the extra mile considering how busy they were.
I dropped off my vehicle for a state inspection and bought new tires, First they replaced all four tires with the wrong sized tire. Then after they corrected the mistake and put on the right sized tires, I had brake rotor rub noise. They had just inspected brakes for the inspection and passed them. So I don’t know what happened but to go in with no brake issues and then leave with brake issues raises questions? I will never go back
My little Jeep Liberty decided to give up at a gas station. A female employee there recommended this shop to me, citing honesty, fairness, and reasonable pricing for properly done work. So far, so good. I had my Jeep towed to them, gave em a heads up on it's arrival and currently known/suspected issues, and was told they'd give a good looking at and let me know what they find before performing any repairs. They got to it pretty quickly the next day (dropped off after closing), and by mid afternoon I had a solid rundown on the issues. My questions were all answered concisely, I was NOT EVER spoken to like a "girl". Ladies, y'all know how that can go in some shops. Not here. Only respect.
Any misconceptions I had were accurately, professionally and kindly corrected. Danny had time for any questions I could think to ask, and then broke down the costs for me, and let me take some time to consider my finances before committing to the repairs. I made a decision and called back, and gave the go ahead. Work probably got started today, I'm suspecting that I'll be road worthy again some time on monday. Which is light speed for pulling down a front end to replace the radiator, hoses, and fried starter. Labor and parts quoted fairly ay $1600 for my particular make/model.
Again, so far, I cannot stress enough that you WILL NOT be treated like a girl. You will be treated like a customer with intelligence, and no such thing as a stupid question.
You'll get clear answers without condescension or impatience.
Looking forward to picking up my Jeep soon and def shaking a couple of hands.

Had some emergency coolant repairs needed on my foreign car. Took it here because it was close and reviews were positive. They said they did foreign makes. Two years later now having issues again and have a specialist mechanic telling me sub standard parts were used in prior repair causing the issues to resurface.
Wonderful place! Always pleasant and helpful. Great customer service and are fair and competent in the work they do.

The mechanical work is always great. However, drive by there and check the hours for yourself. I called, with the website up, to confirm that someone would be in office to check me in. However, when I arrived I still had to leave my key in the box. I inconvenienced someone to make this happen and it would have been nice if the time information had been correctly provided to me on either the website or by the receptionist.
Zero stars they messed my car up hahah Where do I start. They had my car running in a parking lot till the battery died, left it like that for 4 days till the car went into safe mode. It’s a 23 year old car so now the vehicle needs to be taken to Audi to have the radio reset. They lost the screws to my engine cover, they took the heat wrap off my turbo and snapped it back together how a child would. My car is running open headers now so it sounds like a chopper. Go to any other shop in this area, this is not the same shop it was 10-15 years ago they’re idiots. Save your time and money. The quality of person aligns with the work you’d receive here. A what should have been a 150-300 downpipe leak has now turned into a $2000 problem. I can’t image the amount of unknowing people who have been taken advantage of here
Highly recommend this shop! In and out in 2 hours with state inspection and oil change. Didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need like the dealerships do with their “free oil change”.
Won’t take my vehicles anywhere else. I’ve been using them for a while now and I’ve never had a bad experience or issue after a repair. Chris and his guys are top notch!
They repaired my muffler and tailpipe on a Holiday. They didn't have parts in stocks for my vehicle, so they fabricated parts to make it work, and to this day 7/23/24 it's still going strong.
Most dishonest and rude shop I've experienced in the area and will never go back, NEVER! I feel that the good reviews they receive have been by friends and hook ups not random consumers! This place was recommended to me by a friend as honest and good people. That's not what I experienced. They are the reason I learn to to my own work to the most of my capacity and I only went in for an inspection! Imagine going to them for a an actual diagnostic for an actual repair? When I questioned their judgment and requested the regulation criteria, I was told I can look it up myself, it's in Google! These guys are the reason mechanics and shops get such a bad reputation! This is my opinion of them, you're free to have your own experience.
My friend recommended this shop to get my car repaired. It ended up being a costly repair. After reviewing the receipt, I had questions about the cost of parts. After getting my car back, I called and talked to Chris about my concerns regarding the price of parts. Chris was kind and patient as he explained the details of getting my car up and running. Growing up in a small NC town and always having a trusted mechanic, it was a big jump to find one in Chesapeake. I will put my money where my mouth is. You can trust these guys and support a local business! Look nowhere else.
Great Bridge Muffler & Brake are my hometown heroes. My car is 15 years old with over 150k and they’ve done an outstanding job keep it on the road. Oil change, new tires, transmission work, brake repairs, vehicle inspections… you name it. Every service has been top notch and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.
I have been using GB Muffler for about 35 years. They are honest and will always give you a fair deal on the work performed.
In that 35 years I have NEVER had to return because I was unsatisfied.

These guys are great. I had an exhaust leak and was told by another shop that they didn't make that part any more. Checked with Great Bridge muffler and brake and they said no problem. They made a costume pipe and got me back on the road . I'd highly recommend them to anyone who needs service work for their vehicles. Great price and service. I bring three cars here. My most recent, I had 100k mile service in mind and brought a list. The technician told me one wasn't needed and a second could wait until the summer. $700 became $300. A shop that takes money out of their own hands based on sound car maintenance will have my business FOREVER.
A great family owned business. They did work and inspection on my vehicle. They did a super job in a timely manner and very professional. Very reasonable priced . Chris helped me and kept me informed on when it would be completed. I recommend them highly.
Great Bridge Muffler and Brake really got me out of a tight spot! I drove from Lenoir City TN to Chesapeake last week to visit my mom. A couple days before I was due to return to TN, my mom noticed my car was leaking something, so we called Great Bridge Muffler and Brake as that is who services my mom’s car. Chris was so kind and got me in the next day. The fix was quick and it only took about a day and a half to take care of everything. Absolute best shop experience I've ever experienced. Original time I visited with a muffler issue on my truck that needed work. I went here for my inspection and I'm happy with my decision. After calling around I dropped my car off here overnight and it was done by 10am, even earlier than I expected, which was nice, especially since I waited until the last minute to get it done. The place next door had an 11 car line and didn't even know if they'd be able to get to my car at all! I'd definitely recommend this place.
