Before I begin, I want to say: "I've read some of your reviews but only the good ones are recognized." Why is that? "No company has all Good Reviews especially when dealing with a car!!" Well! Here's my Review. I went to Courtesy Auto in search of my next dream car a, "Jeep Wrangler." I looked around the lot, came in and Hilary gave me her card.I came back another day to test drive a vehicle because there were two cars I liked! Hilary told me a man named, "John Curtice, " would be helping me. I got the keys for the first two Wrangler's and the first one sounded like it had, "A bad cold." John told me, "This is the way this particular year sounded." He didn't know I'd been renting Wrangler's for a while just to find the style and year I wanted. So, I walked away from that one. Asked for the keys for a second one, - same problem. If it was a man, I would say: "He had a screechy sounding voice with a whine to it." Not good! I saw one more Wrangler on the lot that caught my eye and John got the keys for it. It looked nice but, " I don't know about you but I don't buy a car for looks, I buy it for dependability.... The third car they couldn't get started! A guy came out and tried to jump it, but He couldn't. That was my cue to dip! John gave me his card and said, "I had this one pulled out for you and I looked and him and said, "I don't want a Red Wrangler." During our conversation while looking at Jeeps he told me a story about a friend of Hilary's who turned his life to God and of course, I told him about my upcoming book, - "The Key, - to Survival," which features a video game within the pages of the book. Unique huh! I met the Owner son, - or Grand son, who talked about how long the company had been established and I commended him. John agreed to bring the vehicle to me as soon as it got started! That never happened. Then, he emailed me a Credit application. "For what??" You tell me! Because I didn't test drive not one car, so why would I apply for credit for a unknown,- ghost vehicle??? He emailed me the next day saying he would bring the Jeep, but said, "A new battery had to be ordered first." Wow! I reached out saying, "I am out test driving Jeeps, but immediately I got a text saying, "The shop called and said, "The jeep is ready." I kindly told him, Although he had a good conversation about how much He loved God, the question is, "Do people think God wants them to be dishonest in their dealings with other's?" Not the God I serve! I want everyone to know, - "There is only One God, - One Lord and One means of Salvation." We have to learn to be honest in all aspects of our lives, whether it's at we work, home, shopping and especially in our dealings with other's. I do my best to represent God throughout the day in every thing I do. If we all did that the world would be a much better place to live and we would be much happier. Don't you think! No! I am not a Saint! And you will find that out once my book hit the market. But, I strive each day to be honest, treat people the way I want to be treated and I am content with my life so therefore, I don't have to go to extreme limits to deceive, perpetrate to get more and more. Things are about to change people, not for the better but for the worst. So, I want to advise all of you to, "Stop building more debt for yourselves and scale down." Learn to be thankful for what you have and enjoy that! Things are going to get hard even, - for the wealthy or rich!" And please, don't fill out applications for cars you haven't yet, had a chance to test drive, nonetheless agreed to buy! Pray to Jehovah everyday, because one day you'll realize, - you need Him! "Words from a wise ole soul." Wake Up people, - Wake Up!....

I used cars.com to find Ford C-Max's. They had several at Courtesy Auto Sales so we drove from Chester Virginia to go see them. Courtesy has a source for former government vehicles and their C-Max's had low mileage! We met Steve on the lot and he took us for a test drive. Steve made the entire process painless! We really enjoyed meeting and talking to him. Highly recommend Steve as a salesperson!

I had to come back and change my review. Things were good in the beginning both customer service wise and the buying experience but now I have major problems.
When I first purchased my car from this dealership, I truly thought I was making a great choice. Unfortunately, the experience has gone downhill fast. I’ve only had the car for 8 months, and in that short time I’ve already had to replace the AC compressor, the radiator, the main battery, and now the auxiliary battery is bad. All within 8 MONTHS!! My check engine light is back on again as well and I will be taking it back to the service center.
Just two months after buying the car, the display screen went out, and the person I was referred to quoted me $425 to fix it. Even though the car is under warranty, I still have to pay a $100 deductible every time something is repaired—and with issues happening back to back, that adds up quickly. On top of that, I would have to pay $149 for diagnostic testing just for them to see what the issue is.
I expected reliability and transparency when I purchased my vehicle, but instead I’ve had constant repairs, unexpected costs, and ongoing frustration. This has become a very disappointing experience, and I hope others are aware and be sure to ask maintenance questions before purchasing. I feel I shouldn’t be having theses problems so soon.Jan 30, 2026 -
I had the MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE with COURTESY AUTO SALES!!! This was my second time going to a car dealership, but at Courtesy it was different. This place is like family. Everyone here treated me like family. This is a family owned and operated company and I definitely and strongly felt the effects of that. Steven J. Slider and Chuck S. Butler were the two wonderful specimens and gentlemen who guided and flowed with me and effortlessly helped me through my car shopping process. I have found my home in all of my car needs from buying my next car to keeping up with the car I recently purchased from them. They gave me a great deal on a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid and I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED! Thank you Steve and Chuck for everything and everyone else at Courtesy for everything.

Would not recommend not purchasing from here. My experience as far as customer service was wonderful, very kind staff. But my main focus was to get a reliable car. i ended up finding a car that was the same model as the car prior to the one i purchased from courtesy so im pretty familiar with it. i wish my car was serviced WAY a bit better before finalizing purchase, my dash had lights on it within the first month which were things that are not covered by warranty. all the responsibility is on me now of course when it could’ve been maintenanced beforehand. now a few month in i can’t even get my transmission together (leaking), as oxygen sensors, brakes, plus more, i haven’t had the car long enough to wear anything down myself. i do appreciate the effort though.

Made my first big girl purchase here today. John Curtice and Chuck Butler made my first ever car buying experience wonderful. Made sure we left with everything handled and no questions unanswered. Come see Jason Harris !!!! The receptionist is nice !!! We even had a great conversation about our family members who were in Dillwyn Virginia. I didn't mean to give you away !! But she recommended chicken and ice cream places for me and my mom to try. I'm a foodie and my daughter is the sweet tooth.
After Allstate denied me after I lost my car , Jason recommended another insurance place and they got me approved. This was My last stop because I had been turned down 3 times prior to this week. I'm starting my second job this Sunday and giving my dad (hard worker since he was 15, hes 69, a break.) I lost my car due to a accident in August and been depressed ever since because my dad is sick and can't drive a lot. He's also developing Dementia so this approval helped a LOT. I had a fantastic car buying experience with this place. I just recently bought a 2019 Kia Sorento EX, and John Curtice made sure the process was as streamlined and simple as possible. He was also very pleasant to deal with, very professional and knowledgeable about the features on the car he sold me. I knew exactly what I was getting, and I am very satisfied with my purchase. The car was in great shape and well taken care of by the previous owner. John even gave me a complimentary free ride to the place so that I didn't need to Uber out from my house to pick it up. He clearly explained everything that needed to be done, and the rest is history.
