This will be my 2nd time dumping at this location. The first time went well. I had about 1,200lbs to dump. This time I got screwed big time and there was nothing I could do about it. This review is to warn others who are in the same situation I was in. I dumped a sofa, mattress and table legs at the dump today. When you get there you get in line and weigh your vehicle. There are NO signs giving you a breakdown of charges. Once you get in the building and you start offloading, there is a guy in there telling you what the charges are for the trash. He told me 150 for the mattress and 75 for the sofa. I'm shocked and I couldn't get out of it. There were trucks in front and in the back of me, that's fine. Everyone is moving really quick trying to get out of there as it should be. So I offloaded what I had and got another weight. The guy at the booth told me it's going to be 364.00. The first time I went there I was charged 175 for more trash and I am a resident of Alexandria. I told a friend of mine who drives trucks and dumps occasionally what happened. He told me the guy at the booth hustled me. All this to say, don't go to this location if you need to dump things like sofas and mattresses. I just saved you some money and gas! If there was a big sign out front letting you know about the charges it would be helpful to customers. This way they have an option. Lesson learned! Never again.
Emailed about a question and received a quick response. When you roll in there will be little shack to the left where you pay at the end but head straight and basically go in a loop. Wait to be weighed at the first scale. You will receive a go ahead then go in to dump your stuff leaving room for others to continue on the loop then when done complete the loop and head around to end up next to the little house to be weighed finally. Quick process when I went, Tuesday morning.
Lady cashier charges whatever number she had on head, one time charges me the minimum charges of $65 for 400lb, few weeks later she charges me $101 for about same weight. Arguing with pessimism attitude she said she never charges $65, she said don't give desscount, I said I'm not asking for desscount, only for a reasonable price.
Owners or whomever in charge need to do something about it
Don't go near that place! I got in with an 8/7 wood garage door that a week prior I dumped at another dump in the MD.
Paid 20 dollars barley for the door and the metal that I dumped.
This place Charged me 56$ for only the door Nothing else..
Totally over priced and after dumping the waste you can't really do anything about it...
great place to drop off waste...only improvements could be if there was someone directing you where to go when you get there, and they could add and exit scale to expedite things. using the same scale to weigh in and out is a little tricky.
The landfill is beneficial and convenient but don’t go at 3:30p. I got the feeling the place was closed. If u do not want residence to come after 3:30p please state that on the website. I don’t like feeling as if I am doing something wrong. By the way don’t bother calling, no one answers. Other than that I appreciate the service.
Been here twice. It's VERY tight. TONS of nails. Dump fee is average. Workers aren't necessarily friendly, but will help you get your load off if needed.
