We’ve both consigned with and shopped here, and while we’ve had good experiences in the past, things have definitely gone downhill. The shopping space is neat and well organized, but the overall experience feels lacking. The consignment process, in particular, leaves much to be desired — communication is minimal, emails go unanswered, and it’s unclear when payments will be issued. I’ve had far better luck with Facebook Marketplace. Unfortunately, I likely won’t consign here again.

Don't consign here you will never get paid!! Stuff sold over 4 months ago still waiting and when you call to inquire they hang up on you....

New floor manager is a poor fit. My wife and I have been customers way back to your previous location and have spent many thousands at your store. We were browsing separately and, after making our purchases, later agreed that we no longer enjoy your store. Please let us know if, and when, he leaves.

I’m all for supporting a local business. But behavior like this leaves a bad taste in my mouth, particularly the markup. And, it’s sloppy! See attached photos for 60$ bookends I saw here that were originally purchased for 9.99 (or less with color tag discounts!)

Awesome deals, beautiful merchandise, and plenty of newer items to choose from!

We come here from time to time when visiting my daughter in the area. It's always interesting to see what's on display.

My first visit to Evolution Home to see my friend's newly opened booth called "The Federal Fox". Lots of interesting items for sale & orangized so you don't feel overwhelmed.

What a great mix from 30 dealers of all types. American, Japanese, Chinese, European and many other places

Never EVER co-sign your items here. PLEASE REVIEWS FROM OTHERS. You’re better off listing on Facebook Marketplace especially if you have furniture AND you keep 100% off profits versus 50% of whatever Home Evolution gives you. Long story short— it took nearly 4 months to get paid out AFTER the initial 3 months of having co-signed. And the only reason they paid was because I had to constantly call and follow up. Their accounting team SUCKS at returning calls. Their excuse was their system was “down” which is why they missed payment but it wasn’t just for myself it was also for items my mom co-signed, who also had two separate appointments. Meaning THREE checks weren’t paid off. I finally got my check after pestering them and my mom only got 1 check— never got the second. Absolutely horrendous experience.

Never do business with this shop. Never place an item on consignment. I did so with almost $3000 in value of two nightstands and they not only sold both for around $600 but it has been 4 months and I have yet to receive my half of the payment. I was promised it several times and am yet to receive it. So if you do not want total frustration with minimal benefits then do not do business with this establishment.

I love evolution home and their staff the way I love family. I trust them and I love visiting them. They have a wide range of offerings, but you should especially come here for your sofa and servingware needs

I like the store itself but this review is based on my experience consigning an item to the store. My item sold on August 10, 2024. After repeated email inquiries, I finally received payment on January 24, 2024. They claimed to be having "processing issues." If you are expecting to be paid in a reasonable period of time, do not consign items to this location. Other consignment shops I have worked with pay at the end of the month following the sale of the item. This store's policy allows an inordinate amount of time to pass between sale and payment.

I am giving Evolution Home a second chance. I'm disappointed with what happened to the couch I was following. But I went back to the shop with an eye on another nice sofa that is considerably more. I sat in it and it didn't have the support I was hoping it would have. But alas, there sits another sofa that has an interesting dark greenish blue. We sat on it and it was perfect. We pulled the trigger and bought it immediately. Now I excitedly yet patiently wait to schedule a delivery. I'm excited about this one. I will have to admit that the collections are superb. I have already starting planning to replace more pieces with some of the finds. And I really appreciate the ease to browse around and search in nooks and crannies.

We went to Evolution Home looking for nutcrackers. We were not disappointed. There was a great selection across multiple dealers. Can’t wait to go back to shop for vintage jewelry, and maybe a chair or two. There was also a great selection of furniture, including accent tables, couches, etc. Great place to shop!

Sojo needs internal and external customer service training. After standing at the check out counter for about 3 minutes without being acknowledged, I finally asked if someone was available to assist me with my purchase. A young man, seemed like he was new, ended up helping me purchase my items. He asked Sojo where my items were located and she said, “I don’t know, she just brought the tickets over here.” I told the young man I could show him where my items were. Sojo was rude, dismissive and seemed irritated and annoyed. I have always had a positive experience at this location and Sojo ruined that. Please train her so nobody else will have the same negative experience I had.

Love love Evolution Home! Kind & welcoming staff. Tons of antique and modern decor. It’s rare to find designer modern sofas and antique oil paintings in the same place. Great selection and prices.

I stumbled upon this consignment store by accident. I was going next door. I am glad I found this place. It's an amazing place to find all kinds of vintage antique items. I am only disappointed at the staff. No one greeted me or asked me if I needed help or if I would like some information about how they do their sales, even the men in the back snapped at me when I accidentally walked into the back where it's off limits due to wrong placement of a sign on their behalf. I could feel the stares as I walked around this place. Not ok. I hope they change their ways towards Hispanics.

Highly recommend against consigning your items with Evolution Home. While the process was easy and they sold my pieces very quickly, they have not provided payment for the items sold. Their consignment contract provided payment would be made a month after the “pick up date” on the contract, which for my pieces would have been September. It is now October, I’ve received no payment. I called and the woman who answered told me payments would be coming then hung up on me while I was still asking questions. I emailed and have now been told they are having “processing” issues and I would be connected with the accounting department. I was never connected with accounting. I stopped in the store and was told by a floor associate that some people were having problems getting paid because of “issues with the mail.” I’ve now had to make a clear demand for payment and will have to consider pushing legal action to recoup the money owed. This is essentially theft given that Evolution Home seems to have no real interest is ensuring I receive payment for my furniture pieces.

This is a great consignment store with clean, very good quality furniture and goods. Make sure going into it you know its not a thrift shop, so the feel and expectations of what they're selling is different as they are consignment. The owner or staff there didn't really engage with us either time we've visited and I was considering buying a sectional. If someone had approached me or if I could find someone to answer my questions about it I likely would have purchased. Otherwise it's a great experience and there are a lot of fun finds!

CONSIGNER BEWARE!!!! I consigned a Dunn coffee table with this business in *February* and was told I would receive a check by *June*. It’s now *September*, and after numerous attempts to follow up, I have yet to receive payment or any meaningful communication. I did speak with someone in the consignment department who informed me that all she could do was leave messages for the bookkeeper but admitted she couldn't force anyone to return my call. This lack of accountability and follow-through is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I am owed several hundred dollars, and the continued silence from the business is unacceptable. I would NOT recommend consigning items here based on my experience.

There are individual merchants like Capital Vintage Charm and Lowery’s Dial which have exquisite, unique merchandise that is grandmillenial and midcentury modern that I purchased many items in my home and continue to support. The store is well organized, bright and cheery with everything well marked and staff are helpful. There is modern merchandise like new couches and furniture in a second showroom. My challenge is no matter what time or location, every time I go to this store, they follow me around the store like a hawk, hovering and letting me know they are in “pre close out” activities. Maybe because I’m a mom in athleisure wear they are judging me about my ability to shop here, but it is elitist and snobby and I don’t feel like this at any other consignment or vintage store in the DMV. I’m a decisive person, who is known to make a round and spot something unique and purchase. Yet if I arrive an hour or half hour, I get this same treatment, where I feel like they are pushing me out of the store. Too bad because I have soccer carpool 3x a week nearby and I love to support small businesses. The store clerk was literally behind me at every turn despite the hours posted open until 6. This store is between Aislin Brewing and Habitat for Humanity Restore, so it’s too bad they want customers gone before closing. This could be a fun outing for thrifters and vintage lovers. I worked in the service industry for years, so I understand wanting to close up, but driving customers out of the store because you don’t think they are purchasing anything is bad business and poor customer service. I felt compelled to write this after this bring the fourth or fifth time this has happened to me at this location during the weekdays.

A wonderfully creative home furnishing store. New, used, consignment with many unique one of a kind furnishings and artwork pieces! We could spend hours in here just enjoying the experience! Something for everyone and great prices!!

Such a fun place to spend an afternoon! The gigantic space is lovingly curated and maintained, so there is never a shortage of things to look at but you won’t feel overwhelmed or get that “thrift store dirty” feeling. This place is a treasure trove and with Aslin next door, it’s the perfect weekend spot!

Fun place to explore on a rainy day. Loved all the different booths with a variety of antiques, large and small, to look at.

Out of the way in an industrial park with a large inventory of home furnishings. It is a home furnishings consignment store in the middle with antique booths around the sides.

Really like this consignment store. Good quality furniture and home decor items. Many antiques. The new location is not nearly as convenient as the previous location on Richmond highway, which may be a good thing considering how often I frequented, but it is much more spacious and open. I think this may have resulted in a little loss of it's charm but there appears to be more items and it is much easier to see and get around. I like the tiered, by date, pricing system, and if you're patient, and lucky, you can get some good deals. But, if you like something, I wouldn't wait too long...to the bottom pricing tier...because luck may run out if someone else likes it better and is willing to pay the higher tier price. All of the staff are great, but especially Ann and notably Susan. Love to go there and just browse, but often I find something to bring home. Will definitely be back.

Great place to find beautiful decor; This isn’t your basic thrift store. Beautiful vintage items of all sorts and styles to choose from. Very well organized and the staff was very friendly.
