Ray's Towing sent driver Scott to pick up my car to bring to North Troy Auto on12/11/25 for repair. Unfortunately due to the snow storm before daylight he had a problem getting in BUT he didn't give up and leave. He couldn't get all the way to the car, but got close enough to winch the car onto his truck. I highly recommend them for your towing/recovery service. Thank you Scott.

Up in Island pond, blew a pulley at 4pm on a Friday. They came right out for the tow and fixed the truck Saturday so I could get to some very important dr appointments back in CT. Love these guys, they went above and beyond!!!!! Can't say enough good about them.

We are so blessed to have a reliable auto service vendor in downtown Newport! All of its workers are friendly and on-time with their services. It is also gratifying that they will "forewarn" us if further vehicle services are needed (i.e brakes, etc.). This is certainly a 'worry-free" auto service. We highly recommend them!

Friendly, accommodating and very reasonably priced. I brought in my Tacoma for a seasonal tire change that was supposed to include setting up a new set of wheels/tires/tpms, but I got shipped wheels that didn't fit. Ray's was very easy to work with and did a tire swap instead. True pros and they easily could have charged me more, but didn't. That's a sign of integrity and willingness to go the extra mile that you don't see often enough.

I would greatly recommend anyone to go here. In February I broke down during a snowstorm and I plow for a living and they got me right in that day when other garages were a week out. They got me going so I could plow my routes. They do very good work and their prices are very reasonable. I would like to thank them for a job well done!

Awesome people to take your vehicle to. They do amazing work and quality work at a good price and it doesn’t feel like you’re being pushed into doing something like Atmos auto shops. They’re very friendly outgoing easier set up appointment. The communication is great very very honest people. Newport is very lucky to have a shop like this in town that doesn’t screw people over

I truly cannot express how appreciative I am of Ray’s Towing & Recovery - specifically with Steve! I lost my car keys on the ski mountain and when I called to see what my options were, Steve made sure to get me the best option. He quickly helped me even though it was late on a weekend and the shop was technically closed. While he was willing to tow my car for me, he also gave me other options to ensure I could get my car fixed in the fastest and cheapest way! I appreciate how much he went out of his way for me, showing how genuine him and Ray’s are!! Highly recommend!

The new owners of the repair business are wonderful. They fixed long-standing problems at a reasonable cost and shared a lot of good information, including about repairs not needed that had been urged on me elsewhere! Highly recommend!

On 1/15/2025 I had called Rays Auto to transport my new corvette from the dealership. I asked if they could be to the dealership for a certain time and haul my car back to Coventry VT. Without hesitation they said yes and they would be there. When rays arrived on time, Scott was the driver of the day. Of course buying a new sportscar any owner would be worried about damage during transport especially in the middle of winter!! Scott showed confidence and assured me that he was gonna be able to do this with ease and no damage. The car was loaded with no problems and unloaded very easy. Scott shows master skills and is a complete professional at what he does. Great Job Scott!

Cold weather prevented me from opening my locks at the Jay Country store happened to see a tow truck they’re and asked if they could help me. Employee popped my door for free. Will be using this service in the future.

Best service I have ever experienced for anything, ever! My teens and I drove into Newport for the solar eclipse. We had been traveling from North Carolina to flee the clouds and get the best view. 30 minutes from Newport one of my alternator belts broke. We found Ray’s Auto Service. They were not only extremely helpful and fixed my car faster than I found a coffee, Shawna and Steve became part of this memorable experience! Thank you!!!! If you need help with your car, I highly recommend Ray’s.

I can't say enough good things about my first experience with Ray's. I was from out of state skiing at Jay and snapped a ball joint at 4:30pm on a Weds while leaving the mountain. Called my insurance, and they sent Ray's tow truck and I decided to just bring my pickup to them out of convenience after another shop (that was closer to me) didn't pick up the phone. I figured Ray's would be the most convenient at that point anyways. By 4:45pm I was on the phone with Shauna, who told me their schedule was pretty busy depending on how bad my truck was damaged, but would see what they could do for me. By the end of that same phone call she was already searching for parts for my older toyota before the tow truck had even arrived to pick me up. At 7:45am the next morning, Shauna called me saying they had already fixed the broken ball joint, replaced the broken cv axle, and found another loose ball joint they wanted permission to fix. My truck was done and ready to pickup at 9am that day, the morning after I broke down. I was truly impressed, and grateful to Shauna for her expertise coordinating the situation and to the expert mechanic who turned it around so quickly. While I'm sure they are not always able to be this accommodating to every customer that comes in from a roadside emergency like this, I can tell you they certainly try their best to be. And they are polite, informative, honest, and respectful in the process. I would recommend these folks to anyone in the area in need of any kind of work. Shauna and whoever worked on my truck earned the 5 stars with ease.

Great Auto shop! The staff has been extremely friendly with me, they're understanding, patient, and very helpful. They found issues that were never mentioned even through previous mechanics. Very transparent about cost and time. This has become my go to place thanks to their great service. Would highly highly recommend.

Ray's Auto is a stand up place!!! I was driving cross country and had some engine issues, Ray's was the closest place to me. Even when they had a jam packed schedule they fit me in, diagnosed the issue, assured me what to do in order to get to toyota in Burlington and didn't even charge me! Monday morning, Toyota puts the part on, and I'm good to go. We need more honest good ppl like those at Ray's Auto. Thank you for all your help!

Monday morning, downpour and the front coil spring decides to snap. Called Ray’s, I was able to limp in, or they would have sent a wrecker. They diagnosed, Parts would take time, no issue keeping the car there. They fit me in to their busy schedule and had it back to me by Thursday. A day early and under the estimated cost. Best Gararge EVER ! Been using Rays for over a decade now. Steve and his crew are straight forward, professional, honest and decent people. Highly recommend this shop!

When your vehicle breaks down it is never fun especially when out of town. Their towing service was absolutely excellent!!! They arrived to help us when they said they would and the driver, Manning was extremely sincere, understanding and very knowledgeable and to top it off their rate was very fair.

My family had tires put on the Jeep a while back, and it was our first time using Ray's Auto. We were immediately welcomed as a customer by the knowledgable and friendly staff. We had a very scary and precarious accident which put us teetering over a guardrail and over a culvert 25 feet down. We weren’t hurt and we found a neighbor who directed us to Rays. Ray and his co-worker were so amazing. They were able to get our vehicle off the guardrail without even doing damage to the car! They went above and beyond what we ever expected. They even made sure we were headed in the right direction. I highly recommend Ray’s. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Ray. You guys were phenomenal. Jackie and Tom
