My car broke down and I had to get my car fixed quick because I live out of town. The tow truck driver called his dad and he recommended here. I called to get an estimate and was shocked at how cheap it was going to be, so I brought it in. To my surprise they stuck to their word on the pricing AND had it done within 24 hours. I am very grateful and would recommend. The mechanic and the front desk woman were very helpful and friendly.

Hilltop Auto is the place that you must go to if your vehicle needs repairs. They are honest and do great work. I glad that I don't need to shop around anymore for a great mechanic.

Yesterday, there was a loud whining noise coming from an air vent in my dash. Before visiting Hilltop, I had taken my car to a Jeep dealer, and they tried to push buying an extended warranty before even listening to the noise. So I left them and came across Hilltop. Hilltop quickly determined the problem and fixed it at a very reasonable price. Fantastic service.
Had a stuck gas door and was quoted by toyota, a 3 hour wait and an hour at least of labor. Hilltop hooked us up and fixed the problem in less then 5 minutes.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I scheduled an oil change and was in and out in less than an hour. Chris and Michael are always friendly and willing to help. Chris is fair in what he charges and is an honest mechanic. Highly recommend!
Chris and Michael are awesome. When we didn’t have a way to get the part we needed, Chris offered to drive us there himself. They were more than fair with pricing and worked very hard to solve the issues we were having with our car’s AC compressor. Great people and honest!
In the past Chris was an honest mechanic. My daughter took her car in and she was told that the cylinders needed tuning and it would be $350. When I went to help her pick up the car it turns out all they did was a standard tune up with new spark plugs. I go to Hilltop Auto because he typically will tell you what's wrong so you can decide whether you want to pay it but they purposely misled my daughter into thinking it was something major they had to do. So with tax you paid $375 for a $50 AutoZone tune-up kit. I'm done with that auto mechanic, anyone have a new recommendation?
Great guy, the owner helped us out on the last Friday before Christmas and made sure we were okay. Even offered to buy presents for our kids for Christmas if we weren't able to get it for them. He was awesome! Couldn't ask for better help in a rough time!
Chris and Michael are the best! Chris is the best mechanic I have ever had. Michael is very good at getting back to me and giving me exact details. They care about their customers and do an amazing job. They don’t charge an arm and a leg, but just are honest and I have never had any problems with them and don’t think I ever will. Come here if you want your car to be taken car of.
Hilltop auto is the best. I went by their store because I had a crazy noise while driving. We thought it was a CV joint or an axle. They quoted us a pretty cheap price (around $175), looked at the car, said there wasn’t a problem with those parts and my lug nuts were loose on the driver side. Turns out, Big-O tire, who had replaced the tires 1 month ago, hadn’t tightened those up. Hilltop did it free of charge.
These are good people. Couldn’t recommend them more.
My husband and I always have a great experience while taking our cars in to Hilltop Auto. Chris is always honest and we wouldn’t trust anyone else with our cars. Michael is always friendly and helpful too.
I first went to these guys when a different place quoted me about $1000 to get my car to pass safety and emissions. I was recommended hilltop by my brother and the cost was less than half of that, as they worked with me until I found a discontinued part for my old jeep suspension saving me hundreds of dollars. Since then I've been coming here for years now, and the service has been nothing but great! If you want a local mechanic who will shoot you straight and isn't trying to run a business off of dishonest upselling, these are your guys.
They did a fantastic job. I just needed to trade in my totaled car, and they gave me a fair price, listened to my requests, and treated me with absolute respect. Hopefully I won't have to scrap another beloved car, but if I do, I can trust them.
They are so great! Good solid mechanic. Very helpful and reasonably priced. They helped me fixing some things in my car a couple times for completely free! SO nice of them. They can be busy but they work fast, and they are honest and won't make you fix things you don't really need. I am always so worried about my car and I pay attention to details, but they always would tell me what things not to worry about and such.
CHRIS IS AN HONEST MECHANIC!!! That should say it all. I have no personal connection to him and feel extremely lucky to have even found Hilltop Auto. They have saved me thousands of dollars by being honest with me about car problems. Do not have your car fixed by anyone unless Chris has looked at it first! I have had two separate occasions where other mechanics have told me something was wrong with my car and it would cost thousands of dollars to fix. On one occasion, he found the real problem and it only cost a couple hundred dollars to fix instead of a rebuilt engine for $5,000. On another occasion, I had a few issues that would cost $1,000 to fix by one mechanic. I had Chris check it out and he said one thing was not even an issue and the other thing would cost $400 less than what the other mechanic would fix it for. The "diagnostic fee" from the other mechanic was more than what Chris fixed the problem for. He didn't even charge me to look at my car. I live kind of far away but it is well worth the drive to know that Hilltop Auto is honest!!!
BEYOND GREAT! If I could rate them ten stars I would. Chris is not only affordable, he's fast, he's good, and best of all, he's shockingly honest. Half the time he won't even let me pay for the work. It's so nice to have finally found a decent mechanic. If you're in Orem or Provo and need a mechanic, Chris is the guy.
We ordered a part from Hilltop at the request of an insurance company and couldn't be more disappointed. The parts was not in a usable condition and we also were not provided with an invoice. After weeks of calling Hilltop for and invoice we finally returned the part on our own. When we attempted to return the part Hilltop would only take credit on the returned part and refused to refund us the cost of the part. We process thousands and thousands of parts a year and have yet to run into a company with such low standards. DISAPPOINTED!
