I sent my son with almost full of half ton truck including lots of steel, aluminum, and copper promising over $60 ( based on the experience in another town) which is going to be his allowance but he got back with $28.
Today was the third time I've dropped off metal recycling. The process is quick, simple, and efficient. I highly recommend if you have some bulk metal around your house that needs recycled.
I just took a small load of sheet steel in my trailer. When I pulled onto the scale, a smiling young woman came out ready to do the weight with an iPad. I told her I didn't want any money, just wanted to dump it. She showed me which pile to go to and I was off. The whole process took me about 10 minutes and I was back on the road. Excellent experience.
The employees are ornery! Just wanted to drop off aluminum cans and you would have thought I was entering a war zone. Just be careful going here. It's nice to get back money for recycling cans but these people need a vacation or something. Rude!
I have been going to this place for a few years now, but recently more regularly. It's a smaller facility, but everyone (that I've worked with) is "on top of it", and they move you through relatively quickly. They've been super friendly to me, and the guys operating the machinery have also been helpful (totally unexpected). Thanks for the pleasant experience.
I stopped by yesterday and was unfortunately met with a lack of enthusiasm from the staff. The girl who assisted me clearly didn’t want to be there, which made my experience quite uncomfortable. It felt as though my presence was more of an inconvenience than anything else.
I had hoped for a friendly and helpful interaction, but instead, I encountered indifference. It’s disappointing to see such poor customer service, especially when businesses rely on positive interactions to build their reputation. I left feeling undervalued as a customer and unlikely to return in the future.
Very unpleasant people. I got there before 5pm and they said, “we have closed up shop, come back tomorrow.” I explained I was here will well before 5pm, but got lost at the place next door because that’s where Google Maps took me. She said come back tomorrow and walked away. I had just driven for 20 minutes in traffic to recycle metal. If I had wanted to come tomorrow, I would have. Now I have to make the trip twice. I should just dump it in the landfill and been done with it! Now I’m using up so much gas to get pennies to be with such unprofessional people who do not care about you. Such rude people! If I could give them a zero I would. I’ve been one other time and they were pleasant then, so that’s the only thing stopping me from giving them a zero. Find some place else!
Do not have Chris help you here. He is the most unpleasant employee I’ve worked with here. Been coming here for awhile but my one experience with Chris has made me explore other metal recycling companies.
I hurried off work to go recycle my boxes and I called at 4:30pm asking if i would still have enough time to drop off before they closed and she said yes as long as I was unloaded by 5. So I drove there and was ready to unload at 4:55, which was plenty of time to unload my small amount of recycling boxes. I had 5 boxes. But they did not give me the time of day. I asked where I could drop my stuff off and she said they were done and closing up shop. She said the boss said that they were done for the day. This was my first time here and I was not impressed with the customer service or even care they had for me or the 4 other people there as well. Our time did not matter to the staff and it seemed like their time was more important. Because they were all clocked out and walking to their cars by 4:58. Not a good experience today.
They have always been friendly and helpful as I try to understand where to take the variety of things. They have even gone as far as giving me a magnet to separate stuff so I can get more money.
I should have read the reviews...it's easy to see what this company does. I took my aluminum to a different place they weighed and told me a 75 percent higher price but I had to clean off a few things, the other place was closed so I thought I would try this place. It was close to close and they had already weighed and gave me a ticket with no price? So by the time you get to the office it's been processed... they probably gave me less than 25 of value... be smart people. I would definitely never recommend or even suggest anyone ever take anything here!
Acouple of weeks ago we took many large items in a uhaul. Only received $5.00 for the entire load. Not sure I want to laugh or cry. Not worth the gas even. I think going to someone else would be better but unfortunately there is very little competition. Just glad they took it but don’t expect a lucrative payout.
I'm glad this place exists. I've been here twice to give recyclable automotive parts a second life as something new, and I got a bit of cash to boot. Good for me, good for MCR, and good for the environment -- win, win, win! Thanks MCR Recycling!
Place rips you off! I Clean up my aluminum for a better price and they low cost me anyway. Even going as far as to reject full blocks of it over a very tiny seal being missed! I would strongly suggest finding another meatal recycling place or don't waste your time for the little money they give you and just take it to the county land fill
Thank you for a great experience. Usually we find ourselves regretting that we try to bring in our recyclables. We visited MCR for the first time. Pete and Mitch were excellent and super helpful. Watch them like a hawk. Easy ways for them to short you. I asked if my aluminum was clean. Guy insured it was. When I went in to get my money they had given me the dirty aluminum price. I caught it and had to go back out and get it fixed. But keep an eye on them.
Blooms took it no questions asked. don't see why it's a liability to sign a certificate of disposal for a toaster oven. All you had to do is make sure it was crushed and there is no liability. Maybe you should talk to your legal department because there is no liability on your behalf unless one of your employees decided to keep it instead of crushing it. Nothing wrong with it, no chemicals or anything. When the company was bought out they requested these be destroyed. I talked to 3 other recyclers who said they would be happy to take it. Transfer stations will also take it. I'm sorry but you were the closest to the location. I'm sorry I wasted my time when literally everyone else says it's fine. You clearly told me it wasn't worth it because it wasn't worth much. If it was worth more, you would have taken it.
Brad and his crew are AMAZING! it does not matter, if it's hot, cold, snowing or humid, these folks are READY to serve you!!! They been here for about 30 yrs. or so, and I can. see why!!! They LOVE their work!!!

I still do business with this company and I've never had a problem. I've read some reviews and its seems that some customers could have just listen or communicated better or been more understanding. Super easy system and the people I have talked to were helpful. Just ask questions if not quite sure so things can go smooth. Thanks guys. Good company.
Called ahead for a pricing of what I would brought (washing machine). They said I would probably get 100 bucks for it, give or take with a few dollars. Went there, they gave me $9 bucks...they are just dishonest. I didn't say anything at first because I didn't hear well, I thought they said 89, but later in the car my husband repeated the amount. It was too late to complain.
The people in the office are great. The people outside who you deal with the most need to learn ther jobs a lot better and they also need to work on their people skills. A lot of the times like today I only scrapped a quarter of what had in my van because of the lack of knowledge the worker there have. I have done it four or five other times also.
This was a convenient place for me to go because I used to live really close. I now live in Payson and they are now about 25-30 minutes away and the only reason I still go there now is because of Gloria, the lady who will check you in on the scale when you first enter and then after you've unloaded. She's the nicest to me ever!
It has been a while and I still haven't gone back and don't plan to ever do so. I have recycled at a number of places and they always checked to see what vehicle you were driving before paying. We went with a truck and trailer full way over the top and tied down. Lots of metal. We were almost done unloading when a small truck pulled up with the short bed half full of desktop computer cases. Real lightweight stuff. That truck followed us out getting weighed. We went to park where we could fit with the trailer. He parked by the door of the building. We were inside when he got paid around $60 and thought wow and even commented about ite to him and the worker paying it out who verified that is what his load was worth. We thought we would be getting a ton of money based on what he received for such a small load of lightweight metal. We got just over $5. The worker figured out the mistake, but said he could do nothing about it. Between the 2 vehicles the metal was only just over $65. He said he could not give us more because he gave it to the guy before us. Wow! I could not believe this. I wanted to take it back and take it somewhere else, but would have to pay the value of the weight we took! Never again! Is there such a thing as negative stars?
I WAS SHORTED 582LBS. of aluminum on my weight ticket. I give MCR a three star rating ONLY because the gentleman in the office did what he could to come to an agreement on a fair payment upon returning the next business day. I showed up later than I had wanted on 07Apr2018. Knowing that I was running behind I had called and told them that I estimated to be there around 11am, knowing that they closed at 12:00pm I was given the assurance that it was ok to come up. When I arrived at shortly after 11:00 I scaled in an unloaded my mixed steel. then I backed my trailer up to the receiving dock to sort out the metal. It took several minutes for anyone to come and offer assistance and when the receiving manager came out he said that we close in twenty minutes and that I should come back or throw it all out as dirty aluminum. I told him that I lived two hours away and that I thought it could be unloaded in a timely manner. He reluctantly brought out containers all the while telling me that his guys needed to go home to see their families. I was not short in showing all of them appreciation for their willingness to help me and stay after, but every time that I said: thank you, they let me know that I was an inconvenience to them an told me I should plan better. In the end and for whatever reason I don't know, my printed weight ticket showed that I was missing 582lbs. This was unacceptable, unfortunately I had found this out upon returning home.
When I returned Monday morning and discussed it with the gentleman in the office, I was sent out to receiving to try and sort out the weight issue. My reception was pretty poor and when I tried to talk civilly with the manager profanity was used to prove a point. I was told to leave the dock and that they would help me when they finished with what they were doing.
I returned to the office and worked out an agreement with there.
The prices seemed fair, and they were professional on the surface, but this is not how a customer should be treated, especially with his family present.
Always get a Gross and Tare weight upon arrival and before leaving.
I have visited most of the recycle places at one time or another, but MCR is always my first choice. I have been going there for years and will keep doing so. They are friendly, helpful, just basic good people.
Got a question, problem, just go in the office and talk to them, they will take care of you.
