Be extra careful coming here with your loads, not tarped They will charge you double for not having it tarped. I came here once and they didn't warn me or anything like that. And the second time around, they charge me double, and i've never seen any posted signs, warning or anything,

I was incredibly offended today. When leaving the landfill at closing time I witnessed an event that turned my stomach and made my blood boil as an american. A lady that had been working at the cashier office was outside taking down the American flag. It laid in heap on the dirt on the ground like as if it were of no value whatsoever. The American flag deserves to be treated with the respect that are great nation demands. The tradition is, if an American flag touches the ground it is to be burned along with a retirement ceremony. If I am able to contact the people that run the landfill I am going to request that they turn the flag over to me and allow myself and my family to perform a retirement ceremony and put it to rest, showing it the respect that it deserves. I hope that this review will be read and the situation resolved and that this will not continue. I'm not a kook but I am a very proud American that believes that this is a wonderful country worth fighting for and living for and that deserves respect. A great number of men and women have given their lives or their limbs to keep this country great and safe.

Brett and Kelly working at the landfill on pioneer day 2025 went above and beyond to help us out when we had a dead dump trailer battery.

They use to cause I believe 10 for you whole load now They charge I 30 per ton I think that’s a lot for clean dirt for that reason I will not be going again

I brought in a load that ended up being too heavy for my hydraulic lift. “Too-tall” jumped in with his excavator and helped me unload it. Thank you!

Shout out to Brett for always getting us in and out quick and safe ! He is the man !

Shout out to Ricky! Came to the rescue with the back hoe when I had too much weight in the trailer. I appreciate all the men and women there.

They were great, our dump trailer broke so they came over and pulled everything out with one of their excavators! Saved us from doing it by hand!

Rodger too tall saved our butts out at the dump today. We brought 10440 pounds (5.22 tons) of dirt and straw to the dump in our dump trailer and our dump trailer wouldn’t lift cause it was too heavy, so Rodger came over fairly quick with a backhoe and helped us out! Thanks Rodger!

Seemed like a normal facility. It’s a landfill. The prices are absolutely insane compared to the salt lake landfill. Dumped roughly the same amount of dirt there as I did the next day in salt lake. Paid $93 in West Jordan vs $32 (slightly less weight) in Salt lake. The cost doesn’t outweigh any benefits there. It’s almost triple the cost. How does it make any sense? Why do others go here continuously unless they have better pricing. Yikes. Maybe they want to drive traffic away from them though

I went out several times to dump concrete by myself, I do not know how to back up a trailer. The guys are fabulous out there and helped me just pull to the side so I had time to unload by myself. Dave even helped me one time to teach me how to back up the trailer… the guys are great!!!

While unloading our dump trailer, we ran into an issue with the control switch. I asked if it was possible to scratch it out with their backhoe, and the employee, Roger, said that he could. After he had directed the trucks in line to where they should dump, he got in the backhoe and drove over to where I was. He had a simple/quick liability form for me to sign on a tablet, and then he carefully pulled the material out of our trailer in a very short amount of time. I was very impressed with the friendly interactions that I had with everyone that I spoke to, including the scale house.

R&R Dumpster services would like to thank Dave and Bret out on the landfill. Both are super cool guys respectful and always lending a hand, when we need a little help with the big machines!

Very friendly and helpful staff! One of our employees had a dump trailer break while at the landfill. Fortunately, Too Tall Roger and Brett were there to help him unload the trailer with a backhoe.

Holy cow. We should’ve read the reviews before going! I don’t understand how they can employ such rude people! The girl at the front desk, Lorraine is so rude! She treats people as if they are beneath her and seems to relish whenever she can hit you with a double charge. In the event that you have not read enough of these reviews by now, make sure that your trailer is covered. That being said, the manager was really nice. She explained that it’s the city of West Jordan that asks for the trailer/truck bed to be covered. If it’s not, that’s when the fine comes in. Just have it covered before you even leave your driveway.

If you're ever run into Dave while you're here give him a head nod. Early this morning at 7am in Cell 6. Dave was kind enough to completely stop what he was doing to run and help me out. Communicated with me on what to do, where to go, and how we could both get my situation done. You see, I overloaded my dump trailer and couldn't lift it. I asked Brett for help and he directed me to Dave. Dave made quick work of unloading my trailer enough to where I could lift it. It's definitely a helpless situation when you have no tools, friends to do it yourself. Dave I appreciate your help more than you know. Especially with being so early in the morning and you were already tackling another project.

This is the best dump in the state. Great staff. They always know what they’re doing and their logistics are great. I had a great experience today, April 9 at 8 o’clock this morning. My battery was dead on my dump trailer. And the gentleman that was here directing the traffic had a jump box for me to use. Saved my day.

I go to this landfill quite often. The employees are always friendly. Bret and Dave are always helpful, especially today when my load was too heavy for the trailer to lift. Bret radioed Dave to come with the trackhoe and Dave pulled my load out for me. Great bunch of people at this landfill 5 stars!!

As the owner of a dumpster rental company I find myself making trips to the dump from time to time. I’ve used a lot of the dumps throughout Utah and Salt Lake County, but had never been to this one. They’re a landfill, nothing pretty or exciting about it. That said, I had a great experiences here at the Trans-Jordan Landfill. Today’s trip I interacted with 5 employees and they were all friendly with me. As a first timer here I wasn’t certain which area of the dump I needed to take my load and they politely guided me to the right spot. There’s a tarp removal area which was nice to have and something I haven’t seen at the other landfills and dumps. Weigh in and weigh out was easy and quick. As with all the landfills and dumps in the area they charge double if your load isn’t tarped. This landfill also does not take cash so for some people that may be an issue. They had signs up stating their green waste program is no longer available. Overall I feel like this is a well run landfill and we will definitely use it again.

My husband and I dropped off our dead fridge the other day and it was a very pleasant experience for us first-timers. There are signs both on the website and huge ones out front that say they don't accept cash (not surprising tbh, not a lot of places do accept cash anymore after 2020). There are signs telling people where to go and the guy accepting payment didn't mind answering our questions even though there were signs everywhere telling us where to go. They also have recycling bins for nearly any type of recycling material. I honestly didn't know they did that. They've got a pretty good system going on here. The speed limit sign driving out gave my husband and I a chuckle.

So I was charged the commercial rate not the personal rate. Single axle trailer. This is after the employee said I was an idiot (Muddled under his breath, but loud enough I was able to clearly hear him) for not giving him my id. Did not know I needed to, as he is not the police and I did not commit a crime.

It's sad that I can't leave a negative 5 star review. A one star will have to suffice. I drove out there to find that they do not take cash, even though cash is considered legal tender and should ALWAYS be accepted. That's fine. I offer MY business credit card information WITH identification, and she refuses. She says she wants to actual credit card. I drive home, and get it. I drive back and get there at 5:56 pm. An extra hour of my time is now gone. A driver pulls out that had just finished dumping and I ask him why the gate is closed. He says they just barely closed it and he said, "They should not have closed it because it wasn't six o clock yet." I admit, I was pretty bothered that online said they closed at 6. I simply drove in the outbound gate because there was no sign that I could see saying not to. I pulled up to the scale and the girl said they were closed. I said "How can you be closed, it isn't 6 yet." She said, "we close when the gate on the right closes." I said, that is NOT how you do business. It says online that you close at 6. So are we suppose to just guess when you will be closing your gate? That is SUPER WRONG. She said she was not the person that could help us and it is not her problem. I drove past to look for a manager because she would not provide one. Someone stopped us, I assume the manager, and told us the computers were shut down and to leave and that they could not help us. I hope the actual boss that runs this place checks the time stamps on the camera because THEY CLOSED IT BEFORE SIX. He was nicer than that girl at the front. We left feeling like their is no way on earth a business should be run like that and be allowed to even be in business. I wasted 40 dollars in fuel and my helper was upset as well. Despite the fact that I was pushing my time limit, I MADE IT. I have NEVER had a business close before the posted limit. You guys should be ashamed of yourself. Truly a disgrace.

Friendly and helpful staff. Well organized and easy to navigate the property, no matter what load you are bringing.

It’s easy to drop a load at the trans-Jordan landfill, plan on going down into the landfill area , if you have a trailer on Saturday, on occasion they will let residential loads go to The PCC area where there is concrete, on Saturdays, but if it makes busy or Windy they will not. My suggestion is not to dump on a windy day or a Saturday if you have a Trailer :)

I am not sure why it is always exciting to go to the dump. It might be the swarms of seagulls, the eye opening look in your wife and children’s faces as they see the huge pit filled with refuse, or possibly the ability to throw whatever you want out of the back of your truck. Whatever it is I am glad this landfill is accessible and taking care of our garbage.
