The parts prices are fair but when you get to the register they work you over with bogus fees?
$2.99 Core Charge. Never seen this on used parts? $4.66 ENVIRO CHARGE? Never seen that at normal yards. Last but not least an extra fee for using a credit card. They did advise me for that but not the other two. In total they got me for an extra $10.
I appreciate having this option, as it saves money and also helps reduce waste..I miss the people who used to work there, the new ones are nice too although the old ones were very good about helping you find what need and very knowledgeable if you had any questions at all.

Great place for parts… If the website works I check this website (or try to) so often to see if they have the cars I’m looking for parts for and it almost never works (screenshot below where I can’t select a store of any kind). I’m signed up for alerts but those don’t seem to work either because they have new stock of the cars I want and I wasn’t notified through any means. I’d like to say it helps to call… But it only does IF they answer.
Great customer service and very friendly staff! I really liked that they had a computer system to quickly find the exact year and vehicle I was looking for, and the locations were accurate which made it easy to find what I needed. For my first time here, it was a great experience—I’ll definitely be back!
All price and inventory are online, but good luck on guessing wether they actually have what you are looking for. And they don't answer the phone if you have questions about a specific vehicle in their inventory, so you might as well waste your time going down there for nothing.
My daughter and I went in search of a hubcap and a fog light. It was super easy! We each paid a dollar, told the clerk what make and year her car was, and he told us which rows we would find cars like hers. And sure enough we did! We not only scored what we set out to find, but also scored all weather mats! The bill was under forty dollars. What an amazing experience! Wear some work gloves, bring some tools you think you might need and watch wear you step. Great place! Totally worth a look for the parts you need.
Polite and courteous, a clean yard basically paved making it easy to get around with the provided wheelbarrow felt lucky to find what we needed as only listed one Ford Ranger on the lot but we found another one which fit the bill. Would definitely recommend

One of the best yards in utah I've been going to junkyards since I was a teenager with my brothers back in 1975 all over in different states been going like 50 years and I can say this is my favorite good service all around even got free hotdogs can't beat that and some of the best prices ever they look out for customers honest to goodness people I would recommend coming here before any place eles

Tear A Part is one of the most unwelcoming businesses I’ve ever visited. From the moment I showed up, I was treated like a suspect — they insisted on checking my bag before I even walked in, and again when I left, even though I hadn’t bought anything. No explanation. No respect. Just a weird, over-the-top policy that no other junkyard I’ve been to enforces.
I understand security, but this isn’t TSA — it’s a junkyard. You’re made to feel like a thief just for carrying a tool bag. Add in rude, unfriendly employees and a vibe that makes you want to leave as soon as you enter, and this place is a hard pass.
If you value being treated like a human being — go anywhere else. This place operates like they don’t want your business.
I've always liked your location. However, recently, as I'm trying to access your website. You keep sending me to some game in a Spanish language. I'm not interested in downloading games. I'm trying to view your inventory.
In the past I've really enjoyed being a customer. The prices are okay, there's a good selection and it's maintained well. However when I tried selling my vehicles on two different occasions I had nothing but negative experiences. I got a quote for a running truck in decent condition that was pretty insulting. I didn't think much of it considering I was trying to sell it to an auto recycler. However when I attempted to sell a non running vehicle the quote was just awful, I had to haggle to get them to pay an extra 20-50 dollars for the brand new tires this truck had. I decided to sell it anyways due to the convenience of having it towed away. The tow truck driver showed up an hour later than the latest time they said they could pick it up, no warning. When they arrived they took one look at my property and decided they couldn't tow it. I towed it to the street with no trailer or winch in under 3 minutes. I Sold it on Facebook marketplace for hundreds more than I was offered. Most of the staff I have interacted with here are not very respectful, welcoming, or kind to me. However I have noticed they seem much more welcoming to people of a different ethnicity than me.
It ain’t that deep people; y’all leaving 1 stars got soft hands FR. Got the part I needed and bounced. Prices are what’s on the website. Again, it ain’t that deep.
Although my son and I didn't find the parts we were looking for today. We still enjoyed our visit looking at the many different cars and trucks! It was interesting to see the different types of damage locations on each and attempt to visualize how the accident may have happened.
For car guys like us, a simple walk through of a salvage yard like yours is extremely gratifying.

This review is pointed at the Ogden store but I know it's the same ownership so this is pointed at them on this review not this store specifically but If I could give negative stars I would! I usually only give good reviews, thanking or bringing certain employees praise. But I had a experience that I feel like I was flat out robbed, I purchased a starter and other things that was wrong that was my fault I took it back and there credit card machine wasn't working so they couldn't put my money back on the card and they said we can't give me cash back which I understand, so they gave me in store credit which I thought was ok I used to go there so I figured I would use it, fast forward about 6 months I go and find what I need go to check out hand them all of my paperwork for using my credit then say my credit it has expired so I can't use it, they said it says right on the receipt that it expires after 3 weeks which it does but they didn't tell me that when it was offered as payment do to there machine not working I genuinely felt like I was taken care of until I went to use it and then they screwed me basically they stole $100 from me from my point of view, I then sent a email to there complaints department because I wanted to give them a chance I got no response so now I'm writing this review of which I genuinely hate to write! So don't expect tear a part to take care of you make sure they don't owe you anything because they will not render service if they can get out of it disappointed in this business

I've been to both locations...Salt Lake City and Ogden and honestly they are both good. I've always been treated with respect and given fair prices. I will however say the SLC facility is a lot cleaner and it's yard has asphalt down which to me is a lot better than having to traipse around in mud holes.
I also think they need to extend their hours to be commiserate with the season. Like right now, the sun is setting after 7:30 yet they still close as if it sets at 4:30.
Called 6 times throughout a single business day during open hours and no answer any time. Kept asking me to leave a message. So there’s no way to speak to someone working here. Checking their online price for a sun visor it seems to be pretty ridiculous. For my specific make, model and year, I can get a brand new one on Amazon with 5 star reviews with just a couple dollars difference. Where’s the value?
Great place to come for parts and competitive pricing. But I needed to come in before work for my car. Door says they open at 9 but at 9:21 a worker finally comes out and tells us they only have one loader and won't be able to open the doors until 10, there are about 20 people waiting to get in and it's 80° with the sun shining on us. You guys need to change your hours of operation. I was waiting in line and another guy left and goes I don't know why I come here they never open on time. Change your hours if you can't accommodate the open time.
Just when you think you will have to pay to get rid of your old car or just give it away for a tax deduction, along comes TearAPart to save the day. I got $280 for my old 2000 Mazda when another yard only offered $147. The thing I liked best? The communication and negotiation via email was completed within a day; they must really pump their people up with something strong to get them to respond almost instantaneously. I loved it! - Steve
Customer service was amazing AND I got a free hot dog! I needed a part from a 2003 Dodge in row 35 so I walked ALL the way to the back of the yard only to find the right side of the yard ends at row 34!!! Row 35 starts where you come out of the building, but it is not marked or where I could see it. I found what I needed and some horns from a 51 Chrysler but I really didn't need the extra mileage on my old bones. PLEASE mark rows 35 and 36 where you come out of the building for first-time visitors like me. Thanks!
We’ve been pulling engines and transmissions from this yard for a few years now. I love the ease of checking in and checking out. It’s very smooth and the staff is always so friendly with short/small talk as we check out. Asking things like what are you guys working on? or how’s the shop? Friendly staff.
The yard is organized and equipped well enough to meet my needs.
The pictures I’ve included or my last rebuild. We pulled an engine from a 2005 Mazda 6 from this yard and put it in a car I bought off KSL that had a blown motor.
