Terrible service. The lady claimed at weigh out that I dropped off steel instead of aluminum. I offered to show her what I dropped off but she declined. I installed aluminum gutters, soffit and fascia for a living. I don’t install anything that is steel. She treated me like a liar and then told me that what I dropped off was, no joke, “stainless aluminum” and laughed at me when I told her that’s not even a type of metal, asserting her authority because she works at a scrap yard. She finally gave me aluminum pricing while giving me a tone like I was a liar. Aside from the classless, uneducated treatment, the whole process took about 5 times as long as any other scrap yard I’ve gone to.

Let me share that their drive through scale is not accurate by at least 150 pounds. Had 53 #1 copper at 5.5 feet per piece. Have a six foot bed and only 2" was showing between the tailgate and the copper, so I just called it at 5.5'. the manufacturer spec is 2.70 pound per foot. I guessed it at 2.60 because I removed the thin jacket. The math does not lie. Should have been in the neighborhood of 758.9 pounds and they gave me 600 pounds on my ticket. No way the manufacturer spec of this cable is off by 158 pounds. 158 pounds x $3.50 is a lot to rip some one off, especially when they probably make at least 40% more than they give you for it.

If you don't want to sit in line for the scale for an hour just go up to Metro on 900s they're way faster

Called them ahead of time to see if they were open on weekends and we drove all the way there and gates were locked and no one was there to help us at all. Very disappointed that we drove over an hour to find out that no one was there. It even says 8-12 pm on their sign

Ive come here before and didnt have an issue. However today I came to recycle some stuff and the hours said they would be open at 8am. I got here at 10:00 and I’ve been waiting almost an HOURS!! Waiting for them to even open the gates. If they weren’t going to open today they could’ve atleast wrote a sign on the gate…. What a waste of time.

Waited in line for over an hour last time I went, very slow there now. Used to get in and out.

Great experience quick in and out, even with the line if trucks ahead of me it moved pretty quick and smoothly. Great guy inspecting the material coming in he is very friendly and helpful.

Take to long in the scale line. Prepare for long wait. The little Latin girl inside will rip you off she don't know her metals.

An hour… (Actually , possibly longer, because as I write this, I’m still waiting..) To dump some rebar and get a $50 check… I won’t be back. Time is money. Here’s the update… Just over an hour to dump and get a check. I was quoted $100 per ton for steel over the phone. 1600 lbs.. Check for $56. I didn’t even look at it because I was so frustrated it took sooooo long. Called and verified $100 per ton for steel. Yep.. Why was my check $56? Because rebar is different… It’s only $70… Because.. Steel is $100… But steel rebar is only $70 because it’s made of steel…Called 2 other recycling places.. Weird.. Their steel price and steel rebar price were the same… lesson learned. Stick with Redwood or Wasatch.

The receiving crew needs a hand scale. Sounds crazy but let's say I have an aluminum frame from a lawn mower that's 20 bucks and I have a bunch of aluminum screws, throw them on the hand scale, don't insult me. Fair prices, quick and they have an on-site ATM for cash out in the parking lot.

My boss let me use his trailer and his company logo was on it. I couldn’t recycle the metal because they needed to put a check in his name. Waste of time..all the other recycling companies didn’t do that. Don’t come here.

Good customer service, they could have more personnel so people don't have to wait for long periods of time.

They offered me about 17 cents less per pound on my brass but the people there were super nice and helpful.

Don't bother calling ahead, everyone will act oblivious about everything. Walker at the front was the only helpful one as I was about to go elsewhere. Kudos on having exactly 1 competent employee!

I have been here twice. They don't care if its separated but you will get less money. Which was fine for me because I don't have time to separate the different metals. If you take rim's make sure the lead weights are off and the valve stem are removed if you want full value.

This place has really great workers who'll respect you. One worker in a green vest named Roberto is not friendly and is an a**h**e by most standards so take heed of him and that's the reason this place has so many bad reviews. Johnny Rivas, the real supervisor, is a great guy. Steven is polite aswell.

Tyler Johnson, In Utah there is no such thing as an "alternating merge" or a "Zipper Merge". The lane ending always yields to the lane that continues, even if that means you come to a complete stop... that's the law. If anyone in the lane that continues decides to let someone in, that's them just being polite. People should always be polite, and they should zipper merge, but there is no law or rule. Since I have no idea which lane you were in, I have no idea which one of you was in the wrong.

Always get great service and the best prices I have found. Sometimes difficult to get there because of trains, but worth it

If you want a scrap yard to go to centrally located between east and west with freeway access, this is the place. I love the fact I don't have to waste time and gas just to make a few extra dollars!!!!

Do not go here unless you want to be ripped off. They kept telling me every time I went there that prices have just been crazy low. I believed them. Then I checked another place and they're giving 4 times as much money for scrap as these guys are. Only go to places that post their prices publicly, then they can't decide to only give you $.06 per pound of aluminum.

I got run off the road by one of their semi trucks who doesn’t understand what an alternate merge is and accelerated to close the gap between him and the car in front of him as I was changing lanes. Keep in mind that in order to do this he had to accelerate towards a car going about 5 mph. In a semi truck. Any company that lets its drivers be so irresponsible is terrible in my book.

Want to waste my time! I'll leave a review. I've been taking old junk cars here for years never had any real issues. I purchased a Suzuki Samurai for the frame. Went to recycle the body title in hand, with previous oners signature on it. They want my name on the title! Why would I register a vehicle that I purchased for a part!? What a wast of time! What a pain in the a**! Now I have to go spend more time and money to resolve this.
