I had my 1991 Chevy Silverado, my 700r automatic transmission completely rebuilt the price was fair, the work was perfect, the transmission rebuild was pristine and the truck has never ran better if you value great prices at great quality, James is a great guy and values your service and that is shown. I also had some spark plug wires done and distributer cap rebuilt and now my engine runs like no other If you value quality work ask for James.

To any one looking to have car repairs I I recommend J&T Automotive certified engine & transmission. I recommend you choose them do to there customer service, honesty, Quality work, Giving you an truthful diagnosis of your vehicle / issue & only charging you for work needed done & for fair price for service. But I don't only recommend them for that I also recommend them because if they see that it's not worth you spending the money to fix the issues do to age of car & multitude of problems & the amount of money you'd end up putting into the vehicle versus pursuing maybe another vehicle because of what you would spend trying to fix that vehicle. I respect that because if a business is willing to lose earning money not servicing your vehicle to gain your trust & future business, but still leave you with the option to service your vehicle if thats what you chose then they'll still do the job with quality work. I only can thank God for a Auto service business like this because thos is a rarity in today's time with almost every business looking to make a profit. Great experience. Knowledgeable and honest. Helped me for an hour finding a used motor to buy at no cost or even being a customer yet, but I will be taking my truck to J&T auto and recommending them to anyone that needs work done.

When I found myself stranded with my wife and 3 kids in the car, I was worried that I would need to buy a whole new transmission. James from J&T provided pictures and a detailed assessment of the damage to my transmission. He then walked me through a variety of repair options and price points that ranged from a full master rebuild with manufacturer parts, a rebuild with OEM parts, or getting a used transmission. Given that I'd only gotten 135k miles out of my vehicles original transmission, I wasn't keen on trying my luck with a used transmission, even though it was the least expensive option. I should also note that the used transmission they offered had less than 30k miles on it, and they were asking $1k less than what I'd been quoted at other shops for transmissions with 80k+ miles. Anyway, James explained the pros and cons of each option, and was very transparent about the details of his pricing for parts and labor. I just got the car back today, so we'll see what happens over the next 12 months or 12k miles for which the work is warrantied, but I've had pleasant enough of an experience that I'm already planning to go back with one of my dad's trucks to troubleshoot a check engine light. I've been looking for a good full service mechanic closer to home, and I think I've finally found them. Don't get me wrong, I like the other mechanics I've worked with over the past few years, but living in S. Arlington, going to Mansfield is a lot more convenient than my other recent service providers in Kennendale or downtown Grand Prairie. One final note. I dropped my car off just before a holiday weekend, and expected it would take some time to get my vehicle back. Over that weekend, there was and accident that left J&T short-staffed. When they communicated the issue to me, I assured them that I was sympathetic to their situation, and had a reliable backup vehicle, so there was no major urgency to complete my repairs; nevertheless, once they were back up and running, once James and his team were able to assess the vehicle, and provide me options, they got the work done quickly, and my vehicle was ready the next day. Overall, I hope not to have to bring too much business to J&T in the future, but should I find myself in a bind to repair anything beyond my own skills, I know I can count on J&T to take care of my vehicles for a reasonable price.

James did a fantastic job with diagnosing and fixing my vehicle. Brought it in and he had it done the day after. Great people and great experience.

Stay away from J&T Automotive 2214 FM1187 Building # 4, Mansfield, TX 76063 They broke my intake valve and told me that it was already broke messed up my HVAC system and told me it was already broke all of these things was working prior to going because I just had them repaired and I have the receipts for it. This company and they're nothing but Crooks I would stay away at all costs.

My experience at J&T Automotive was a breath of fresh air. James customer service was amazing, and he did an excellent job finding the problem. And I really appreciate it. He was kind and welcoming. It’s been a long time since I’ve had this kind of experience. Thank you J&T Automotive. Kindness still exists.

My mom recently took her vehicle up here and was tooken advantage of by the owner himself, I came to look at the car on Monday this week and he said that he did other repairs which didn’t need to be done cause she didn’t come for that reason. He calls her today and says that the car is Ready and is all fixed, get to the place and he wants more money for the extra repairs that she didn’t even come up there for. He gets mad and throws a fit telling to not come to the shop ever again so she drives the car just for it to not be fixed and out of gas along with no oil smh that is just trifling to do that such a sweet person …..worst mechanic ever, just taking advantage of people and only in it for the money smh

This was my first time to use J&T engine and transmission. Absolutely 100% satisfied with their team of mechanics, James went above and beyond expectations they rebuilt my transmission installed an engine and numerous other things to my 81 trans am all for a fair price. I would definitely use them again and I consider Jame as a friend.

James and The guys are great man I brought him a transmission that had a broke pump from a previous owner and he tore It down in front of me and gave me a killer deal on the repair because he seen the trans was still brand new from when he fixed it in 2023! Highly recommended for you automotive needs!

Wonderful experience! My transmission was destroyed and I had my car towed to J&T Automotive to get my vehicle repaired. I ended paying really good amount. Actually, it was a lot cheaper than the estimate that the honda dealership gave me. I saved about $10,000. Wonderful & honest service!!! By far the best place I’ve ever gone to being a handicapped person, everyone there was very considerate.James was so helpful in trying to find and fix an overheating problem losing water from radiator. He took the time to explain why certain parts need replacing. All the other mechanics I talked to said I had a cracked head gasket- Nothing more….. James talked to me about the head gasket if needing replacement. Plus much more in searching for other reasons why I’m having these issues. I’m very happy to have found this place. My car was broken with a bad transmission. Basically becoming undriveable. I called James at at J and T. Then explained my situation. He not only offered to come pick up my car free of charge. He offered to come the next morning. He was at my house at 5:00 a.m. Never seen that kind of service before. "Wow". He diagnosed my car and called me the next day. I did research and to my dismay a transmission rebuild was around 6000.00. I was despondent to say the least. James called me and told it wasn't the transmission. It was the coils; which he could repair. At a substantially lower price than a transmission. James personifies professionalism, respect and courtesy. My car runs like new. I came to get my car running in the process of picking up my vehicle I was charged for the company loosing my keys and replacing my door lock and the trunk still doesn’t open .. was charged a storage fee.. the guy kept going up on the price…he threatened to mechanically lean my vehicle and to top everything of I left Mansfield and got to Waco and my car went up in flames he never responded and nor offered to fix the vehicle and wouldn’t reimburse any funds I had two walk for today’s to get home and pay for another tow I would be very watchful of these people

Horrible. They pulled out the transmission to put in a old used one Not even a week later it stops working. Towed it back up there for them to say it was something in the electric so they had to pull the transmission back out ( admitted it was on the previous work on transmission ) Truck was parked at the shop for a week in a half before they even started it. Was giving a 90day warranty but charged me another $500 just to pick it back up! When picked up they refused to give me a receipt & was completely rude & unprofessional.

To be clear still have not recieved a receipt from you. 10/1 - Broke down again! Busted Coolant bypass hose that you didn’t bother replacing pouring out antifreeze. Did you do anything you said that you did? **Women beware! NOT RECOMMENDED! Gender biased mechanics. Please research this mechanic shop beforehand. Something I highly regret not doing. Bait and switch from day one. Paid over $5000.00 and engine was not replaced. Could not get a copy of a detailed receipt with the breakdown of charges parts and labor whatsoever after I asked on multiple occasions. They never even test drove my car to make sure it was all good, thank goodness for life’s gps gadget that let me know this important fact. After.I asked James told me they test drive vehicles on the rack. Really?! We have had it back in there 4 times since pickup. We Had high hopes that yesterday it would pass state inspection after they had the truck for 2.5 weeks this round. But Sadly 15 miles down the road codes lit up the dash once again! The only person that actually cares up there is one of the owners Tim he is kind and has people skills. The other owner James and team are not skilled. Customer is never right in this shop! I wanted to reach out to share my experience with J&T Automotive Engines and Transmissions. They've been extremely honest & professional from day one. Everything they told me they would do they did it plus more. They told me what they believe may be wrong. They explored options on my auto repair. They gave me an honest quote. In return THEY GOT MY BUSINESS! They were fair and honest! I will continue to do business with them. The entire staff is extremely friendly & great people! Thank you!

Worst mechanic I've ever used!! Update: Truck overheated, started smoking and left me stranded once again! Is it possible for you to honor the warranty? $5000.00 bill with no receipt. James sent a text asking for Google review. We took it to a honest mechanic to get a run down on what exactly was done and not done. We discovered they replaced only one hose, we were told all. Basically bought a salvage engine for less than 400.00 and plugged it in replacing only one belt, left old brittle hoses, plugs, coils or even bothering to change the motor oil! If you want a l salvage yard engine installed and to pay more than refurbished engine from Blaine's than this your shop. If you want your car back running in better working order than when you brought it here, I suggest find a CERTIFIED MECHANIC NOT J&T Automotive as James offers nothing certified with his auto repairs or warranty.

James and his team took very good care of my F150 and it's transmission issues. They were very good about walking me through what they found wrong and suggesting a plan forward including two different estimates. These guys were professional and focused on the customers needs and satisfaction. I would highly recommend them for any work you need done on your vehicles.

Found this place on the internet. Had my transmission rebuilt on my 64 Corvette. They did a great job and James and the gang are very honest and upfront about the job performed and how much it will cost. James takes you out in the shop and shows you the work that needs to be performed and also where I had other issues. I brought the car back to have a bushing replaced a few weeks later and as we were waiting for a part on the car James personally made some minor adjustments on my hood and adjusted my new carburetor and helped set the timing on my car. I ended up having some rear bearings replaced. There were some issues with the rear hub and spindle. They went above and beyond and put several hours of extra labor and finally fixed my issue. I can’t say enough good things about this place and the owner. If you need any automotive work done on your vehicle and are looking for an honest and reputable place, this is your guy! James and Tim are The best these guys are good at what they do very very knowledgeable very transparent very upfront with you they actually take you back into the shop and show you what’s wrong with your transmission so that you can see first hand with your own eyes and they are not out to charge you an arm and a leg they do Quality work at a Great Price. They took excellent care of me and my transmission issue on my 2014 GMC sierra Denali had me diagnosed removed and rebuilt in two days just as promised and the price was unbelievable Compared to Other transmission shops in the area wanted to charge me for remove rebuild and reinstall. I just cannot say enough good about these guys excellent people great character honest very transparent quality work for a fraction of the cost of other transmission shops. I called around and Checked out other places Thoroughly did my homework and I’m very knowledgeable regarding automotive. I made Good Friends during this process And I am forever grateful for them and knowing them and will always use the shop for any of my mechanical engine transmission automotive repairs. Do Not pass these guys up. These Guys and All of his Techs are the Truth.
