Tow truck drivers had an absolutely horrible attitude. Tow truck drivers used unnecessary name-calling and racial slurs and berated a very kind and patient man who was just trying to ask valid questions to understand the situation.

They were supposed to charge me $249 They charged me $260 Yes it matters! I Specifically said I needed to rent a wheel lift tow truck. After they took more money than what they were supposed to,, an Indian guy calls me telling me he needs 50 more dollars. Because they didn't have the tow truck available... I explained that I am extremely poor. And that I was told CLEARLY THEY HAD THAT TOW TRUCK FOR ME TO rent. It's NOT okay to overcharge even if it's a few dollars in someone else's opinion. Not mine we're very poor.

Watch out for this company!!! They repossessed my truck under the previous owners name. I showed them the title they still wouldn't give my truck or possessions. I have stage 3 copd and am oxygen dependent. The would not even let me have my life dependant medicine bag or my grandkids car seats. It took them over a week to allow me access to the truck to get any of my personal belongings and by then I found stuff missing. They rifled through all my belongings in the truck including luggage that had personal belongings my oldest daughter's bag was left out in the bed of the truck it got rained on her medicine her makeup brushes and all that stuff that was in the bag is ruined.Or my oxygen equipment not to mention they stranded us 4 hrs away from home.

My family and I drove four hours away from home to visit.Canton. We returned to the parking lot only to be hurled into a state of panic. The truck had been stolen. We are stranded in the parking lot across the street from canton, first monday. With my mother who's oxygen dependent and my three year old son. We call the police. Only to find out the vehicle was repossessed by liberty towing and recovery. Surly, the wrecker driver was trolling up and down the street in search of low hanging fruit, and a quick buck. He must have happened upon our truck with the repo order against the previous owner. Had this individual even bothered to verify who the truck was registered to. (which they have every resource and ability to do) they would have known not to repo our vehicle. A police officer shows up to tell us there was a repo order, so there's nothing he can do.This was a lawful repossession. So we email him a photo of the title. The fine people of liberty towing and recovery say it's a fake. ( Fair enough) so my husband drives four hours from home to bring us the original paper title. It is very much real. Have I mentioned my mother is oxygen dependent? Well that is an unfortunate perk to having stage 3 copd. Did liberty towing do the right thing? Did they do the lawful thing and give us our belongings? My mother's life preserving medical equipment, my 3-year-olds carseat, prescription medications, or our cash money? You would hope so. Not only is is against TDLR regulations to withhold personal possessions from an individual. (In Texas, towing companies and vehicle storage facilities (VSFs) are prohibited from withholding personal property or charging for its release when a vehicle is towed. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) enforces these rules through regulations outlined in the Occupations Code and Texas Administrative Code.) It would also just be utterly immoral to deny a person access to such important belongs. You have to be a negligent and uncaring person not to. Unfortunately, liberty towing and recovery, don't respect, the law, regulations, or people in general. We were not allowed to recover our belongings until the following weekend. Above all the they don't respect the title proving ownership. We have the title to the truck, but we don't have the truck. We've called the cops up there. The police say its civil. They can't do anything. When we're were finally permited to get our things back. Our bags had been rooted through. Liberty towing and recovery even moved my duffle bag from the cab of the truck to the bed of the truck. Leaving my belongings and my toddler's. Exposed to a weeks worth of weather. Please, if you need towing services. Look elsewhere. Do not support this "business". Its apperent that they do plenty of sketchy things in that area to keep their pockets lined. They absolutely do not deserve your hard earned money.

Targets teenagers at downtown events and overcharges them to get vehicles out. Talks to them like garbage and $325 to get a car out. What a pathetic business to prey and bully youth.
May 11, 2025 -
These horrible people who don't deserve the oxygen they breathe took my belongings out of the cab of the truck just to set it in the bed and have it rained on. Really I get towing a vehicle but what's the point in putting people belongings in the truck get soaked? This company needs to be sued into the ground and closed hoping anyone working here and can never find another job. If they would have let me grab my belongings out of the truck the first day instead of illegally holding them over the whole weekend we wouldn't be having this issue.

You illegally towed my mother’s car(WITH MY WHEELCHAIR IN THE TRUNK!!), made her pay to get it back, and then lied about it in court. All these bad reviews serve you well. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone, they are thieves and liars.
Mar 02, 2025 -
EDIT: Liberty Towing falsified records and photos for court proceedings against them. Please use caution before ordering a tow. They are shady, greedy, and dishonest Liberty Towing towed a car with a WHEEL CHAIR and HANDICAP PLACARD from a single mom and then made her pay $300 to get it out. They did this AT HER APARTMENT BUILDING. She has a DISABLED CHILD.

I wish I could give a negative star review. My friend is a single mother of four, with one being disabled and this company illegally towed her car from a handicap spot that was NOT up to code, and the placard was visible on her console. On top of that, my friends child's wheelchair was in the car. They refused to give her her car back without paying to get it back. My friends landlord for this income based housing also emailed Liberty about the space saying it wasn't up to code. LL also told my friend that Liberty PREYS on people in that complex because of it being income based housing. My friend ended up taking her to court, and this towing company lied through their teeth and brought fake documents AND fake photos. I've seen the photos that my friend took (which is in her OWN review here on Google mind you) along with her Facebook live where she showed the space. For being a "Christian" company, they sure do lack moral grounds. I also find it comical that this company is removing reviews and blocking people for posting about this issue. I'd steer clear if I were you.

Very dishonest and sleazy company. They will tow your car illegally from private property and make you pay to get it back.
Jan 31, 2025 -
Shame on you for towing a car unlawfully! Her placard was in her car, and the handicapped spot was not clearly marked. You stole her car! Make it right! You know you were in the wrong.
Jan 31, 2025 -
Your company is a heartless, soulless, business. Your employees towed a mother/grandmother's car from a handicapped parking space at her home today. SHE HAS A HANDICAPPED CHILD!! She's helping to raise her grandchild. Also one child is sick. The placards are supposed to be hanging while parked, yes, however her's IS LAYING IN THE CONSOLE OF THE CAR AND ITS IN PLAIN SITE from either of the front windows. She isn't sure if she forgot to hang it or if y'all didn't see it. Either way, when y'all found out about the error, you still told her she could not have her car until she pays the $300.00. This is cold, cruel, and lacks even a speck of empathy. Hopefully, this review shows your business operates only for their bottom line. Businesses are open to make money but, losing your compassion for humanity in the process makes yours a business I will not use nor recommend in the future. While $300.00 may not be much to you, to a mother who's already struggling, it's everything!!

I am a single mom of 4, one of them being disabled. I have a handi cap placard that hangs in the rear view mirror when I’m parked and lays on the top of the center console when I’m driving. I went outside tonight to go to my car and it was gone! I called the police to report it stolen and they told me liberty took it. Apparently Liberty came to my apartment WHICH IS PRIVATE PROPERTY and towed my car without warning tonight! And they won’t give it back bc they want $300+ for it. There’s gotta be a better way! Now I’m home without a car and I have kids to get to school tomorrow plus a very sick child. The guy on the phone who took the car didn’t care and refused to look in the window to see the placard there. It’s definitely there!!! And my daughter’s wheelchair is in the trunk of the car!!! Not to mention the space isn’t properly marked so they legally cannot take my car EITHER WAY!!

Oh my stars! This is the place to call if you need a tow. Sweet friendly people both the lady that answered the phone and the service man that towed my car. Very fair prices and quick service in my case. I will definitely call them again if I need a tow.

I used liberty for a private repo, I was quoted 300 for the tow and a additional 150 for a dolly fee since the truck was a 4x4, when I arrived to pick up the vehicle somehow the total amount changed to 580, I asked why the amount changed and she couldn’t give me a straight forward answer I asked if it was a mileage charge and she said no, since I had already driven three hours and they had got my truck back I just paid the amount

Tow truck driver was very friendly and helpful. They got to me in a timely manner. I recommend this company other the other towing companies in the Baton Rouge area.

Liberty Towing is the most consumer unfriendly unreasonable business I have dealt with in decades. They sent me a registered letter claiming I owed them for towing and storage on a vehicle I had traded in at a dealers months before. I called, they looked up the VIN, and assured me that the new owner of the vehicle the dealer had sent to auction was in touch with them - to ignore the notice. But they refused to put that in writing because they only do what the State of Texas requires. Certified mail with a second larger bill came today. Again - they advised me to ignore it. But they refuse to put it in writing. I sincerely hope they are just bad business people with no sense of doing the right thing, rather than running a scam. (I haven't been in Texas since 1995!)

If you fall on hard times. And get towed by these people? Be prepared to feel like their the bank. Cause they treated us like nothing you wanna feel. I prayed for them. Because in this world we all know. Bad things happen to good people. .

Female employee in the lufkin location is very rude, belligerent. Slamming windows and doors on customers. Totally uncalled for. No compassion, doesn't deserve to be working with the public. Don't trust this woman.

If a repo company makes a mistake and wrongfully repossessed a vehicle you'd figure they'd make it right and return the car to the owner. But when I was left stranded with my two kids, ages 5 years and 10 months, they did not care that their driver did not check the VIN number of my vehicle which they are supposed to do and still illegally repossessed my vehicle which had my car seats, diaper bag with my baby's medicine and thermometer inside of it, plus many more important items a mom would need. But no this company took no responsibility even though the Lindale PD told me that was the company that had took it. No I was told that their "sister company" took my vehicle and that they could not return my vehicle back to me at that moment and they could not call the driver that took my vehicle. I would have to wait until 8am when the tow yard opened to talk to anybody and get anything figured out. Well, that left my family stranded for hours. We almost didn't even get a ride home. And the people I talked to with this company were rude and uncaring and horrible people. And their website says that their employees do training...well the driver that took my vehicle sure didn't do his job and when I told them of his mistake they didn't help at all. The police told me it is a civil matter....well that is until they are informed of their wrong doing then it becomes theft. So I hope when I call them first thing this morning that they admit they made a mistake and bring me my car back so that I can take my daughter to her first day of kindergarten. Because if I don't have it by then I'm gonna be one hot momma. People make mistakes I get it. But when they know of their mistakes they should make it right and not play dumb and not make it right. I wonder if they've ever made this mistake before me.....hmmmm Well after talking the nicest best listener in the world, Regina who is the manager over the repossession department of Liberty Towing, I finally got some good things to happen. She did believe me when I explained to her how they towed the wrong vehicle and she went and checked it out with her own eyes and she called me back within minutes and verified what I was saying is the truth and currently has my vehicle in route heading back to me with one of her drivers. I'm so glad for once there is someone who isn't a complete idiot and who actually cares about other people in this world of tow yards and soooo glad I got Regina to listen to me. Thanks to the best person I know and who made my day so wonderful today by bringing my family back our vehicle, Regina you rock! My five year old is going to be soooo happy!

I'm glad I was able to waste your repo man's time and fuel only for you guys to not get paid since there's no way in hell you guys would have ever found the car. I was able to take my sweet time in catching up on and paying off the last $3000 owed on my car. I hope you guys lost a couple thousand on man hours and fuel. Better luck on your next one chump!

Liberty towing was called by our neighbor to get his vehicle unstuck out of his backyard. They went through our backyard to get to the neighbors car. While he was in our yard the tow truck got stuck. Instead of calling for help from his towing company, he and his ride along for the day freed the truck themselves using a very creative method. The tow ramp was lowered and pushed the truck up and forward about 15 times until they were unstuck. They left our yard with 3 feet deep ruts, a 3x3x3 hole where the back tire was stuck. When we called them about fixing the mess they made, they said it wasn't their responsibility and to get our fixed income neighbor to fix it.

I called them to help move a car. The guy came out & moved my MIL's car from the side of her house into her garage, to appease the city. The car was on all flats & is in pretty bad shape, but he made it look so easy to move it & was very friendly & professional. When looking for a tow company, I was afraid it was going to be expensive, but they were very reasonably priced. Hopefully I never need their services again, but if ever I do, I'll definitely call them. Great service.

I had to pick my car up from Liberty, and they are very sweet people. They communicated fees well with me and even offered a discount for bringing in a donation to their food drive. If had to be towed by anyone I would want them to do it. They are kind, sweet, and giving back to the community. Thank you!

Liberty Towing had to tow my parents' vehicle last weekend. Everyone was so kind, especially Chris who picked-up the vehicle and communicated with me and Chris' brother who helped us in the recovery yard the next day. This company provides kind, professional service. Thank you!

I called the company on Friday April 1st. Mr. Scott answered the call, I needed an estimate on relocating 3 vehicles on our property. He gave me a very reasonable price, I did make him aware I had to get 3 estimates (being a business) he did not hesitate to give me a price (as the other companies did and were extremely expensive, you would think I was asking them to relocate the vehicles to a far destination). We hung up, I called back about 1/2hr. later but it was after hours, and it wasn't an emergency so I informed the 24hr. operator I will call back. Fast forward to today the 7th. I called and the friendly voice of Mr. Scott answered, I told him I needed another estimate because I was minus 1 vehicle. He quoted again a reasonable price and said he would be at my location in about 45mins. Mr. Scott showed up around 20mins later. Big friendly smile and did exactly what I needed. He was professional and knew exactly what he was doing. I was impressed how his tow truck worked, as I saw him through my cameras hook up one vehicle and just like that it was relocated. I will be using this company again and even refer them to my sister locations. Thank you, Liberty Towing and Mr. Scott, for helping the remaining clearing of our area, go smoothly. Mr. Scott keep smiling!

Called every towing company in the Tyler area after our car broke down on a busy highway. Called Liberty and the driver (Romero?) called back immediately. He arrived on time and was quick to get us towed back home, nearly an hour away. He was a lifesaver for two women stranded on the side of the road. Timely, professional, and friendly. Price was also more than fair. Would definitely recommend!

Called 2 other towing services, both having a higher rate as well as wanting an additional charge for “after hours”. Travis, with Liberty Towing, not charging an after hours fee, met me at the vehicle and was actually interested in more than just towing the truck off. He was so nice and helpful. He knew the problem, quickly crawled under the truck and fixed it so it could be driven and gave us the diagnosis to give the repair shop once we take it in. Any other service would have simply hooked the vehicle up and towed it, charging the extra fee. Travis discounted the charge, taking the tow charge off, even though he made the trip out fairly far and after 10:00pm. Liberty Towing will be our first call from now on! He made a hard situation much less stressful, saving us time and trouble.
