They do have friendly staff but, their prices suck. I've never been to a scrap yard that pays less, most scrap metal yards pay almost double what they pay. Probably the worst prices in the state of Texas. Another problem is their scales. I took a car in once that had a gross weight of 3,200lbs and according to them it was only 1,800lbs. I know each scale may be a little different, but not 1,400lbs off, and the scale inside the building has the same problem.
There are scrap metal yards closer to where I live and more convenient for me to drive to. But, I drive the extra miles to Bandit Recycling in Bowie to get the most money for my scrap metal, and to get the best customer service.
If you need anything metal related, even advice about projects or repairs. The people at this business are there to help. As a knifemaker I go a rummage through their steel. Great prices and awesome knowledge about old fashioned work. A firm handshake and a kind heart make for a great company. I go as often as I can.
My dad got screwed out of money. My dad had alot of junk iron, they charged him for only tin. Which he only had about 5$ in tin and rest was iron. Got only 79$. They are not honest people. Will not be going back.
Chris is awesome! He helped me out in a pinch and only asked that I "pay it forward" and help someone else in need along the way! If only every business was so good!
