I've been to several auto repair shops here in Waco none have provided the service I've received from Dunn's. They provide honest guidance, quick service and fair pricing. Grateful I came across them and you should visit them next time you need a repair or give them a call if you need advice.
Couldn't be happier with these guys, they have taken such good care of me & my 25 year old van. This shop is very honest & forthcoming with pricing & they very much care about their customers. Chris is amazing very kind. They are very attentive with what your vehicle needs & will work with you. I only wish I would have found them sooner, would have saved me thousands. As a young woman (who admittedly does not know a lot of about cars), I don’t look forward to trips to the mechanic. However, Dunn’s was a very pleasant surprise. They spoke to me the same as any customer, very informative and flexible, and were able to help me with my brakes in a timely and affordable manner.

Originally took my truck to “brand name” repair to diagnose. Estimated $2K in repairs. Took to Dunn’s and it was 1/4 the cost and without all the un-necessary repairs. Very straightforward and with all the business they have, you think it would take weeks to get me in.

Very rude. Explained my issue. Said he didn't know if he wanted to work on issue due to bunch of shade tree mechanics looking at it. He assumed because the mechanic who looked at my truck has been in business for 30 yrs and has a 4.9 star rating compared to this shade guy. Don't have to be rude just say you not smart enough do job. The only reason other mechanic couldn't diagnose issue was he was mobile and he got my truck running so I could get home.
I have had multiple times where I’ve taken my car in for service. Each time, I was given HONEST information and service. They don’t try to sell you something you don’t necessarily need. Very honest folks. Highly recommend.
Our go-to mechanic. Trustworthy and reliable. Avoids unnecessary charges, and offers helpful tips or even small fixes. Well priced. Only limitation is that it’s first-come first serve, so they work you in as they can, then let you know when it’s ready.

Called spoke to Chris told him me lower ball joints were bad dropped off Thursday called me promptly at 7-7:30 Friday morning and told me that the uppers were just as bad so he did it INCREDIBLY FAST and was OVER a $100 LESS than he quoted me!! They won me over!! I highly recommend them
Should've made this review much sooner, but better late than never I guess. I used my personal OBD scanner on my '13 Chevy Impala that had a check engine light. One of the codes that showed on the screen was a P0496 and right under it, it said "Evaporative Emission System High Purge Flow", so I took a picture of the screen. One morning I came to this place and told the two grumpy boomers at the front desk about the engine light, told them what exactly the issue was and even showed them the picture I took of my OBD screen. After all that, they disregarded it and said they would to do a diagnostic. I asked "why do a diagnostic when I just showed you what the issue was?" They said in an mocking tone "we don't trust those scanners, we have to find what the issue is ourselves." They were going to charge $80 for the diagnostic. At that point I said "forget it" and left. Afterwards I found out via Youtube that a P0496 was an easy fix and decided to do it myself. After I got right replacement part and fixed it myself my Impala no longer had the check engine light. Just goes to show how arrogant and money hungry most mechanics are.
I have had numerous repairs completed there for numerous vehicles over the years. They have always been honest (to the point of not charging me when a part failed that wasn't even their fault) and expedient. Their prices are fair and communication has been fantastic. If you are apprehensive about getting your vehicle serviced by an independent shop, there is no reason to be. This is the place to take your vehicle if you are not sure how to handle your repair.
Wish we had more people like the people that work at Dunn's. They are extremely honest and outstanding in the work they do.
Our son has taken his Jeep there twice, and they have done a remarkable job and did not once try to upcharge; in fact tried to find ways to save money without compromising quality of workmanship or product being used to repair.
Too bad other shops cannot follow this same model.
There is no better place in town. They are very fair and honest. Been coming here for over 20years now. Can't believe I haven't done a review, they definitely deserve it. Not once have I been given a bad experience. Understand, they are the best, and everyone knows it. So yeah, there always is wait, and yea they want you to drop your car off for that reason. Supply and demand. Highly recommended, 5 stars isn't enough.
I’m very impressed with Dunn’s. Took in my car for brakes. They had a great price and used quality parts. I even told them to just go ahead and do the rear as well as the front while they had it. They called me after they took a look and told me that I really didn’t need to do the rear because I still had 80% pad life. They could have just done it and charged me, but they were honest and cut my anticipated expense in half. Very happy with both the service and final product. The car drives great. I will be back. Almost $5,000 later and my car is still not driving right after having suspension work done. I have taken my vehicle up there 3 different times after the fact the first time they replaced a part because it was defected. Noise went away but same noise came back three weeks later after going back and forth the suspension tech “ couldn’t” hear the sound yet almost 5 months later my vehicle sounds worse then it did when I took it in the first time. Their is an older gentleman who like someone else mentioned who was rude and every time I went back gave ugly looks and flat out rude as if we were a inconvenience. Chris did try and help and was cool about it but the problem is still there. Ever since they did work my AC cuts on when it wants and that wasn’t an issue before I took it here. Just be cautious when going here they do good work and have great reviews but after spending that amount of money I shouldn’t still be having these issues!
The professionals at Dunn’s are honest, knowledgeable, and well worth what they charge! Have used them for years and will continue to do so. They stay super busy, but somehow manage to stay efficient and do excellent work. David has always been especially kind and does a good job of not talking over my head mechanically speaking(which would be easy to do). Thankful I can always count on them!
I brought my car in & had it back the next day! Other places were going to take days to get it done. One was going to charge 30% or so more. Highly recommend this place! Mr. & Mrs. Dunn are very kind as well. Chris is great to work with!
Spoke to Cecil Dunn today--needed quick-turn service for a dead battery and other routine maintenance. He was very patient and the pricing was very competitive (with parts that were better than local "big chain" shops). Extremely friendly, top-notch service from a business you can trust! We took our car in for an alignment. Dunn's has great prices and great customer services over the phone and in person. We ended up ordering 2 new tires from them while our car was in the shop. The 2 new tires actually made our car ride smoother. The new tires we bought from another company were riding rough. We highly recommend Dunn's Auto Repair. We will definitely use them again.
My wife and I have used Dunn's Brake & Tire for 20 years now and the most valued statement I can make is that the mechanics and guys in the front office are honest. When you are a person who knows absolutely nothing about cars or engines, a mechanic could take advantage of me and I wouldn't even know that it happened. I've taking our cars to Dunn's many many times and if they say something needs fixed, it really needs fixed. I have also taken our cars to Dunn's and they have called notifying me that either the repairs were not a bad as I thought they would be or that the repairs weren't even needed at that time. Terrific people, terrific work,many times the same day. Work is done timely,every part is always explained to me and prices are very reasonable. I have never felt once I was not getting the straight story. Never in 25 years had a repair or modification not work the next day. Dunn’s is hands down the place to go for any auto repair. They are kind, honest, and treat you like family. I was in a bind when I had a flat tire and was in a rush to get to Austin and they graciously gave me a spare for such a deal. Shoutout to Cecil!

Trustworthy and affordable. Criteria for a good mechanic. Switched to Dunn’s after living in Waco a year and realized I was paying too much for the franchise mechanic. Dunn’s is our go to mechanic. They really want our car to be dependable on the road for our family. Been many times and always felt like we were treated fairly. They stay busy - a sign they do good business. Getting in line early in the day is best bet for quicker service.
