The staff is amazing to the people in the front and to the people on the back. If you don’t understand something, they will gladly sit there and explain it. Look up prices with you and try to suit you what fits best. Highly suggest them if you ever need an alignment or tires.
Took my teenager's car in to repair the passenger side lower arm control and strut and a front-end alignment. They were accurate, professional, and honest. They did a wonderful job, wonderful job!! After all my kid is driving that car. Thank you, City Tire and Battery.

Had my work van worked on there, replaced body mount bushings and the ride in it is great compared to before. I think they did a great job! I wish they had told me that the price could be more if parts needed to be replaced, but they gave me a detailed bill and I thought the extra cost was just. I believe they are honestly trying to do the best work possible and will go back.
I took my truck to three different shops to get my tires balanced and each shop tried twice to get it right and couldn’t do it. City Tire got it in the first shot. They were friendly, knowledgeable and the price was great. These folks know how to operate. I will not hesitate to take my vehicles to them because I know they’re in good hands.
I do like the people here and I do not like to write negative reviews. Unfortunately, I do not like their policy of quoting a cash discount price when the reality is that most people are not able to pay cash for 4 tires. When I call, I always ask for an ‘out the door’ price and what I was given was slightly less than big brand and discount tire. But at the end of the day after the credit card surcharge, they were sadly the most expensive. If I had known that upfront, I would’ve made a different decision as to who to purchase from this time around.
I’ve recently started going to city tire and battery and I purchased my tires there and now I’m getting an alignment done after I had some work done on my car. The people there are so friendly and their services are completely worth your time going there. I highly recommend this place to anybody that needs Tires and alignment or any other kind of work done.

When in 3 days ago . Wasn't greeted at all although there was 4 employees at the counter. As I make eye contact everyone disperses except for one guy who stays at the desk but continues to be on his phone. So I walk a little closer and say hello and he asked how can he help me. (With absolutely no eye contact.) I begin to tell him the type of battery I need and he cuts me off letting me know that the guy who deals with it just left out. After that there was no communication at all so I left because the vibe was definitely off.

I am a college student using my dad's car while I'm here. That being said, I don't know anything about cars and have never had to take a car to an auto shop.
I was having a problem with my car that required me to take it in. Though, after I dropped my car off, I did some research on the issue and found I could fix it myself. I called City Tire and Battery and told them I was going to come get my car by the end of the day (also they had told me they wouldn't even be able to look at my car until the next day - even more reason to just try to fix it myself). When I went in later that day to get my car, they told me they had already replaced the battery (which they deemed was the problem... it was not) and handed me a bill. I was confused because even tho I had never been to an auto shop, I did know they aren't supposed to do anything to your car if they don't ask you first. They said "well we can replace the old battery if you want" but there was 30 mins before closing and I had no idea what to do because like I said. Not my car. Don't know anything about cars.
Also the woman at the cash register was EXTREMELY judgmental of me not just blindly paying the bill when I obviously had no idea what to say or do. I will never take my car here again - and to repeat, they didn't even fix the problem.
edit after response from owner: The problem was not that you couldn't see my car RIGHT AWAY - that was never a problem, I completely understand that. The problem was that you worked on the car without notifying me AFTER I called and said I was picking it up that day...so I felt pressured to pay with 30 mins before closing.
They are the best! I needed a new tire and was there less than 30 mins! Great service, friendly staff and the pups are my favorite! Thank you again for the awesome service!
Integrity and customer service at its best. Baylor parents I hope you find this review. My daughter is a freshman at Baylor. On a Saturday night she discovered her car had a flat. My wife and I were in town for parent’s weekend. With some help, she managed to get the spare on and I found the only tire shop open on Sunday in Waco which is a national chain. She met us there the next morning for repair. The national chain staff didn’t know or care if they honored our tire warranty and weren’t nice about it. 2 hours later they told us it was a side wall puncture and needed a new tire, it couldn’t be repaired. I had to leave my kid with a 50mph donut because I had to work the next day. After getting home (6 hours from Waco), I found the only shop in Waco that honored our warranty policy. I called City Tire and Battery and explained the situation to a very nice lady and also, Gillin the tire manager. They didn’t have the right tire but would have it for her the next day and promised to take good care of her. They did just that. When they took off the tire (less than 1 yr old) they discovered that it wasn’t even close to a sidewall puncture and was easily and safely repaired. Turns out the “Boys” at the national chain lied to us to try and make an unnecessary tire sale (shocker huh). The good folks at City Tire and Battery fixed her up in just a few minutes and didn’t charge a dime. I’m actually thankful that the “Boys” did that or we might have never found this place. As a dad, it’s good to know where to send her that has honestly and integrity.
Was on a road trip, out of town. Truck said low tire on the Freeway and we were flying down 35. 30-20-15psi, we pulled off. Shot some air in it, but it had a big hole. I look to my right and bam, there is City Tire. We limped it over. With a shop full of cars, they got right on it. From drop off till back on 35 and completing our trip was 45 minutes. That's absolutely service!
Big plus, they had two of the sweetest old dogs laying around that loved head rubs!
I’m traveling out of state.. ended up with a nail in the tire that caused us to lose air very quickly! I tried multiple places before going to City Tire and the employees were all so friendly and they were able to get us in really quick! It definitely relieved some stress getting the tire fixed so I could get back on the road
Wanna wait 2 hours for one tire to be replaced then go here. Not once but twice. Wasn’t even full on a weekday. Terrible. Edited: Definitely not trying y’all again and will be telling others not too.
Very Bad Customer Service. We have been customers with City Tire & Battery for 2 years. Brought our Truck in for and Oil & Filter Change. They called saying I had 2 filters and did we want both changed. We did agree. When we picked up the Truck we were charged 470.00 for 3 filters changed. When we questioned the charges being very high (asked in a polite way) we were suddenly very unwelcome. They became very rude and did not want us there. We paid and left. Due to the obvious over charging and rude dismissive behavior We will never use this business again.
I was driving down the highway when a semi kicked back a broken tire at my car and damaged my undercarriage. We took it into the shop and Gillen was extremely helpful and made it a smooth experience. They got everything done quickly and efficiently, you can tell they actually care about their customers. I picked up my car the same day and it drives great again!
I only found City Tire & Battery yesterday and they have been an absolute LIFESAVER!
The story is long but it appeared the shop I had been loyal to for more than 7 years had been going downhill over the past month, and yesterday was the breaking point when they were being sketchy and saying things that didn't make sense.
I stopped at City Tire & Battery to have my car issue evaluated and they were nothing short of amazing! They went above and beyond for a job they weren't going to get rich off.
I now have a new shop.
They have a new customer and fan!
It would be impossible to exaggerate how helpful they have been.

I was in Waco to visit my Baylor daughter and noticed her SUV was not driving as it should. Dropped it off on a Friday morning for an alignment. Received a call that it had a very bad tie rod end. They were hesitant to start the job due to the time of day. They advised her to avoid the highway, which put us in a bind, as she had multiple job interviews in the Austin area over the next few days. As we were on our way to get it and figure out other means I received a call that they were going to try and get it done! We went back at 4pm and it was done a few minutes after we arrived. Incredible service and I cannot thank them enough for giving me peace of mind that the vehicle was safe. My only concern is my daughter may now take her car in excessively as an excuse to play with the shop dogs while she waits!!
My band was on tour and one of our rusted out brake lines that we had “gotten replaced” by a shop back home burst. Ray and the team at city did everything they could to put us back on the road as quickly and safely as possible. They found the problem line, took it out, tossed a new one in, all at a fair price. Highly recommend this shop for Texans and Minnesotans alike.
Had AC Delco batteries at a price no other place could give or even tried. Purchased 2 for our GMC HD 2500 and hopefully they will last as long as the last ones, as I feel 6 years is great these days. Picked up and installed myself as they were really busy.
Took my truck here to get a wheel alignment. Once I dropped the truck at City Tire, they dropped me off and picked me up from work, which was very convenient on account of me working Monday through Friday and they not being open on Saturdays the truck was ready, and it just needed a camber adjustment camber adjustment.I was thinking the price was going to be 120 or more, and it turned out to be 79 bucks thanks for the good work and the professionalism. Great price to quality work ratio.
I'm in the process of rebuilding a front end on a 1998 Ford Ranger that I had just purchased recently. Upper and lower arms, sway bar, shocks and brakes were all replaced. The whole front end. As I did not have the proper tools to perform the tie-rod installation that was needed. So, I decided to take it to this shop to have these installed and to finish up the job with an alignment.
I go to pick it up that afternoon close to closing. As it turned out, a suggestion was made that I needed new tires for it to be properly aligned as it was still pulling to the left. The price quoted for tires was a bit much. So, being economical I decided to shop around. They told me to bring it back after I had new the tires and they would finish up the alignment I had just paid for. Today, I went to the shop and was told it would be 3 or more hours before they could get to me. Since I had to get this taken care of and as to get on with my workday, I went to another shop up the street and had an alignment performed. This is where I was informed that both of the inner tie rods were loose and the upper arm bolts on the passenger side were also loose. For reference, when I the installed the upper and lower arms, all bolts were torqued to 100lbs. So, these had been loosened in order to perform the aborted alignment and it was very dangerous to leave it this way. I had given these folks 5 stars before as they seemed to be genuine about their service. When I was informed of the issues encountered, this changed drastically as it seems that I received some very shoddy service here.
Though it may seem paradoxical to suggest that one would feel good about spending money at an auto mechanic shop, City Tire and Battery is a rare exception. From beginning to end, Gillen and the rest of the staff were kind, transparent and served me with my best interest in mind. Regardless of the state of my vehicle and the things they suggest need to be fixed, I feel confident, given their integrity and quality of work, leaving my car in their hands.
I came in at the end of their workday to get my oil changed and brakes inspected. After inspecting my brakes they realized my wheel hub was loose and recommended I don’t drive on highways until it’s fixed. I let them know I had a scheduled work trip the next afternoon and they lent me a car, rush ordered the part and had it fixed by the next morning! Great service and I appreciated them working with my situation

I dropped off my 2015 Kia Soul at 11:30 am for an oil leak. They called back around 1:30 saying that the issue was much simpler than expected, and they wouldn't even charge me! When I came to pick up my vehicle, he explained to me exactly what the issue was and what to look for in the future. I'm very grateful for their service, especially since a different repair shop told me they would charge me at least $150 just to look at the vehicle Thanks!
