Brought my work van in for an oil change, was told there was no wait over the phone, when I arrived I was told all the mechanics were at lunch so I returned at 1pm, then was told it would be an hour wait. So I waited, and after an hour had passed I went to the front desk and asked how much longer the wait would be and was told an hour and a half. So to clarify, called at 11:30am, was told no wait, went to lunch and came back, ended up leaving at 2pm after being told it would still be another hour and a half.
Tried to charge me $600 for just break pads. Was very confident on the price and wouldn't change. Called "Raiders" right down the road and they are doing full service for $80 after taxes. Don't go to these scammers. Always one shop in a small town taking advantage of good people.
dont bring your car here they break stuf that wasent broken and tell you it was aleady broken came in for a fog light out and not only did the fog light still not work but the rear stop/break /signal light dont work and they took 8 hours and didnt fix nothing they dont check anything diring a inspection and tell you they did managers a liar do yourself a favor avoid this place!
I had 4 locking lugnuts removed because I didn't have the key. They had it done in about an hour for $40. In these times that is a great price. I don't think I could buy 4 matching lug nuts for that much but also included the labor. I can't praise them enough. Honest job for an honest price, that's all we expect and they delivered.
Very impressed with this place. They were able to get me in quick and get my wife’s vehicle handling like new again.

Car towed in around 10am 12/01/23....asked how long wait 3 hours well I called back twice told Saturday morning I was quoted 602.00...shocked for just tire and battery ...found out 350.00 battery top of the line ...wasn't asked my budget I don't need premium then told Monday I said no they charged my car went to Nissan new batteries for key remotes and car has started since.....no new battery....oh they didn't call me I called them
We were traveling from Tucson to the East coast when we had a tire come apart on our RV between Roswell and Lubbock. I put the spare on and stopped in Lubbock overnight.The next morning I called McWhorter Tire and Heather helped me find the correct tire and had it delivered to their store within 45 minutes, I went over with the bad tire and wheel and they changed it immediately. We we back on our way quickly. Also the price was reasonable. Thanks go out to Heather and her manager to make this happen on short notice. I put it on and we out of Lubbock by noon.
I usually come here with all my car related business but that is about to stop. I have been waiting for my car to be fixed for almost 2 weeks. Every day that I call the staff made it seem like I was a burden when I was checking on my car or said it wasn’t there. Wouldn’t you check that a car was indeed not there before telling a customer that? Or transferred me to some older guy that had no clue what he was talking about. When I called this morning to find out the status of my car the staff couldn’t seem to care less. They had finally gotten my part and instead of working on my car they said “maybe they could get to it later.” I find it kind of baffling that my car has been there almost 2 weeks and it wouldn’t be the first one they would work on. Overall attitude of the staff seem inconvenienced by their JOB and rude to customers even when they’re being polite. Very disappointed with this experience and will be letting everyone I come with contact at the hospital/Texas Tech students to not take their business here either.
I got an oil change and had my tire air pressure checked. Considering I went in after lunch the time spent waiting was reasonable. The wait was mainly on the tire issue as they checked each tire for leaks and replaced a couple of valve cores at no charge. The tires were purchased there. The personnel was very courteous.
Customer service wouldn't go out of the way to assure a speedy courteous process. Left a tire and came back the next day. Still not repaired. Customer service guy didn't care much, but the shop hand saw me inspect the unprepared tire and let me know he was overloaded with work but immediately fixed the tire and sent me on my way. Good job shop guy
Staff w a s able to resolve my needs in a slow time frame. I was the 2nd person at the store. The employee in the lobby appeared saddened or upset with working an AM shift. I needed 3 tires installed, they did not have in stock, they ordered them in from another location. Then they determined a TPMS was faulted causing the TPMS error message. After 4 hours of waiting they released the vehicle to me and the TPMS light remained. They stated it was reprogrammed but the error remains.
My tire was "repaired" at a different location yet it still had a leak the next morning so I brought it to this location because the other one was closed. Still got charged on top of paying for it the previous day. My mistake for expecting a service to stand behind thier work. I'll be going somewhere next time.
I came in thinking I needed a brake job and an oil change… they changed the oil and informed me my brakes had over 50% life left so the brakes werent needed. Most places would have done it anyway for money but these guys are honest. Its refreshing to know that places like this are still around. I will come here for my car needs from now on.
Brought my Indian motorcycle in for required state safety inspection and this is a fairly simple check compared to an automobile. Transaction was completed; about to ride away and the bike died because it ran out of gas-due to my assuming I would make it to the a gas station after the inspection. Never ran out of petro before in my 70 years of life, but I did. Manager was kind enough to have a younger staff member take me to a gas station down the street with their gas can to pick up the go juice for me scoot. Saved me from having to call AAA Texas due to my poor planning. Thanks y’all for the help provided.
They just threw away 20 years of business, because they can't do a simple oil change and inspection on a brand new car. Very sad. I've been using them for 20 years, but now I'll have to find a more professional service center.
The team at McWhorter's is fantastic. Ken provided above and beyond customer service, and my car is back to normal after the repairs on my damaged tire and tire rod. Couldn't have had a better experience, and if anything were to happen again to my car, they will be my first call! Highly recommend!
Staff unhelpful. After spending close to $400 on brakes and tire alignment, I drove off with my vehicle making a noise when I turned my wheel all the way to the right. Brought the vehicle back and was advised that the lining around the wheel was causing this and they were going to "tie" it up so it wouldn't happen again. Just not understanding how this is happening now when it wasn't before?????
Staff not helpful. Long wait only to have to turn around and wait again to fix something that wasn't a problem before. Never again.
Lazy. Passed my car inspection with bad brakes because they were too lazy to fix them. Had to take it to another mechanic to fix. Then they used the most expensive oil without asking me to make some quick money. Will never go back.
Update: The manager talked to me and gave me a refund. Thank you Ken for caring enough to try and fix things.
I guess im the only one who had an awful experience. Mr.garrison looking guy lost my invoice and i had to find my copy after 2 hours of him saying he didnt have it. Suddenly he finds it. Smh.
Also, incredibly rude. Not at all focused on customer attention. The two tires theyve worked on had issues and had to be brought back. Dont even mind that. I mind the lack of concern. Dont ever go here. Go to discount or a local place.

First time at this location. Went in for an front wheel alignment, the reps were nice, dropped off vehicle and they called when vehicle was ready no delays like real straight forward and easy. A plus to me is they gave me the alignment report most places i been to do not provide. I test drove vehicle and everything was straight and solid. I had times where I had to bring back my vehicles because they did not meet standards or steering wheel was still offset at other places I been to where I lived. I will be bringing my personals and work vehicles in as well.
Highly recommend this location. Called ahead on a Saturday morning to check if they would have time to look at a flat tire and an oil change. They told me they could definitely get the job done that day so I brought it in. I thought I would probably have to end up buying a new tire as I had a piece of metal about an inch wide in the tread. Dropped off my truck and expected a call back saying the tire couldn't be patched. To my surprise I got a call only 20 minutes later saying they were able to patch the tire and they had completed the oil change also. It's really nice to bring your vehicle to a business that gets the job done quickly and professionally without trying to sell you anything unnecessary along the way.
A mistake was made during the repair of my tire, they immediately admitted it and replaced it with a new one. They also apologized. That's far better than any other tire store has treated me. Definitely becoming a regular customer here.
On a cross country trip we woke up to a flat tire. These guys were quick and so nice. They got us back on the road within 20 minutes and didn't charge us! Great customer service and great people!!
