Took My car in for oil pressure sensor and a few other things. Paid 1300$ to fix, but leave with My AC not working! And there Response was, We didn't Do it! Terrible Service from the Management to the Mechanic.
I don’t normally leave reviews, but I feel like people should know what they’re walking into here. I paid over $700 to have my car diagnosed and repaired at Scott’s Complete Auto Care—and in the end, nothing was fixed. After keeping my vehicle and charging me for the work, they ultimately told me I needed to take it to the dealership because they couldn’t resolve the issue.
If they knew it was beyond their scope, that should’ve been communicated before charging me hundreds of dollars. I left feeling like I paid a steep price just to be told they couldn’t help. No real solutions, no refund, no ownership of the outcome. Extremely frustrating experience.
I expected better and won’t be returning.
I have had major work done to two different vehicles and they got both of them out in one day. Service is done right the first time fast and reasonably priced. You can't ask for better than that.
Review of employee driving, was driving on 34th near Costco at 9:02PM on 3/30 when company car was tailing me. I was going speed limit then when I tried to get over he continued to tail my car into the other lane, only to get back into the original lane speeding up and staring me down. Awful employee driver.
Update I’m back in dallas our family mechanic is checking my vehicle because something was loose unrelated but he said my vehicle is still leaking oil…..
So I came here to fix an oil leak I paid $370 for a day job I picked up my car at the end of the day and was told it was an oil switch gauge. the next morning my car was still leaking more so I had to go back they said they might not be bake to get to it till the next day. They called me and said the oil switch gauge was loose…the same thing I paid them to replace and fix….They ended up called me at 5pm saying it’s ready if I could pickup by 6. I wasn’t gonna make it. I called back at 5:45 saying someone would be able to pickup the keys for me they are up the street they said that works. I called a friend they left to get it then They called me mins later saying it was to much work to get my car out because it was the “1st car in the garage with 15 cars in the way” So now I have to wait til the morning to pick up my car forcing me to to be stuck in Lubbock another night. I just got my car I asked if the oil levels are fine (because it was leaking after I paid them for an oil change, they assured me it was) I checked the oil it’s short….
We have been taking our cars to Scott's for decades, and we wouldn't take them anywhere else. They are so professional, so helpful, reasonably priced, and honest. But most of all, they know what they are doing! This week, after my car was horribly damaged by a road hazard, I had it towed to Scott's. They spent 3 days examining it and trying to price out the repair, and finally came back and said it would need to go to the dealership. I was so grateful for the honesty. Many shops might have tried to do the work and not been successful, but Scott's owned the fact that the damage is too extensive and will require specialty parts and manufacturer-specific expertise to piece it back together. Thank you guys for always being so thorough and so trustworthy. We appreciate you so much and will be back every time we need car care!
My daughter's car broke down, and I'm 6 hours away. I had it towed to Scott's, and they were just amazing. First, being understanding about a panicky mom handling this from far away. Second, they evaluated her car for free. Even though they couldn't fix it because it was a transmission issue, they didn't charge me when they could easily have. Then they recommended who I should take the car to, which cut down on my work. They were so nice to help me. I would highly recommend Scott's simply based on their kindness and honesty.
Scott’s always goes above and beyond with timely and quality service. They never take more time than they need for a repair and I’ve never felt like they are taking advantage of their costumers by “fixing” more than actually needs fixed. I’ll never take my vehicles anywhere else.
A Breath of Fresh (Car) Air:
The staff and mechanics at Scott’s were so helpful and able to get our vehicle out the same day. Before Scott’s we had our vehicle at a dealership for 3 days with zero results. Mark and the crew at Scott’s literally nailed the issues within 30 minutes of bringing our car into their shop. 5 Big Stars and we’ll be taking our vehicles back to Scott’s from now on.
About 2 weeks ago, I wrote a not so happy review..After the review, and my son calling and speaking with them. He later received a call from Scott's, they had him take his car back to them so that they can fix whatever issues that were wrong with the car after he left. The car was left there and by Monday morning all the problems were resolved and my son's car was back working. I wasn't able to edit or delete my review,but I found it necessary and the right thing to do by writing another review with satisfaction. My son was happy and said that he feels they handled the situation professionally and he would go back to them in the future.. So I say thank you...
I gave 1 star because I couldn't leave blank.... My son took his car to get starter put on. He gets a call saying he had a major oil leak, but he didn't have one before he took it there. Even tow truck driver said that, no evidence of that. Look under hood and they have screws that was placed back in where they took them from wires not placed back on it, hoses off. They said they pulled the car in with a golf cart because wouldn't start. But change the story and said they hit the starter and it started up. Charge over $900, now he has to take somewhere else. They are crooks!!!! They don't care and I believe they choose who's cars they will give excellent work too.

Dropped my car off at 730am and an hour later, I had a phone call with the diagnostic and total cost. Two days before a holiday and with them closing early today, they were still able to complete the service. From the time I dropped off the car until I picked it up, the total time was 3 hours. Estimate was EXACTLY what was quoted over the phone to the penny. Very friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back here to take my car in for service the next time it is needed.
I used to recommend Scott's, but after two consecutive screw-ups, I have to give them one star. They supposedly replaced a front-wheel part that was making a low grinding noise, but then my speedometer and other instruments stopped working. The shop manager insisted it was none of their doing. I took it to the dealership and was told that no new parts were installed and even gave me the "old" worn-out part that Scott's insisted was new. The dealership fixed Scott's screw-up and cost me an additional additional $440. On another vehicle, a slow radiator leak developed, and because of convenience, I took it to Scott's. I was told I needed a new radiator, and it would run approximately $1,500. I took it to another shop and was told it was an O ring that had weathered and cracked on the drain valve. The total cost was $150. Scott's has really gone downhill and forgotten why they became successful in the first place. They no longer have customer care and honesty.
Beware!! My son brought his Jeep into Scott's on 34th to replace the fuel rail line and left it with them. He called back after a couple of days and they said it was back ordered and it would be a few days. 3 1/2 WEEKS later, still no part or any idea of when it would come in. We ordered the part in Dallas (where we live) and I sent it back with him this past week. He took the part in and about 2 hours later they said the vehicle was ready. The labor was over $450. I questioned Scott's and they said they had 2 mechanics working on it. Not a mechanic and a helper but 2 mechanics. Completely overcharged and all they said was that is what we charge. I check with some shops in Dallas and they said labor should have been half that much. Then they charged me for a couple of gaskets for over $100. Wish I would have read the reviews before we went there. (Yes this was a lesson for my son - but a very expensive one on me.)
They were friendly and professional. I have some minor engine work done and a tune-up, they had me in early and out before the end of the day. A lot of car mechanics or your car for two, three, days or even a week. They came recommended by a friend of mine and after seeing that several police officers were using them for their cars, I can only assume that they were doing a good job. And I was not let down. I'll be taking my vehicle there regularly
After having my car at several different shops that made my car even worse and caused more problems for me, my car was taken here and I finally received some help. I was so glad that they could solve my car's problems and get it done in a timely manner, which was refreshing after my previous experiences with shops. I appreciate how kind they were to me when I was very stressed. Thank you for your help!
I have an older car which was rapidly leaking coolant. I hadn't had to use a mechanic in the area before, and Scott's was recommended to me. Overall, I was very happy with my experience. When I took my car in, they were quick to diagnose and fix it. The reapir also came with a 1-year, 12,000-mile warranty, which was appreciated. Diagnostic work was also free, which was nice. The actual work was a bit expensive, but the repair held up well and the work was done quickly. I would certainly recommend them, and would definitely go again for a different automotive issue.
Came to Lubbock for a week long training. After a 6hr drive my I arrived to Lubbock and my check engine came one the very next day. I found Scott's via Google and I'm so glad I did. They gave me a free diagnostic super fast and informed me to take my vehicle the dealership because the engine repair should be covered for FREE by a recall (and it was). The employees at Scott's (especially the gentleman at the front desk) were super friendly, nice, knowledgeable, and eased my frantic anxiety. I couldn't be more thankful for them!!
I went in there to replace power steering pump .I told them it was leaking.and needed replaced.they replaced the power steering lines and said it would be fine so I left and the next day headed to work in Amarillo and it leaked all the way there and ruined my serpentine belt power steering fluid all over the motor. I had another mechanic fix it in Amarillo. He had to replace the pump.After cleaning all the fluid off the motor it works great now..Thats happened there before with another issue..I would never take anything to this business. On top of that they were rude especially the owner Scott. I guarantee you I'll never patronize this business again!
My daughter attends Texas Tech. I live 9hrs away. While I was in town visiting my daughter for the day I called to have a few things done to her car. Spoke with Jon he was very honest and professional. We made plans for my daughter to drop her car off with transportation to and from school provided by this company. Everything went exactly as I was told even though I had to leave town. They were even willing to take a over the phone payment.
Pricing was very fair and work performed timely as well.

On a trip from San Antonio to Lubbock last week my a/c went out right out of San Antonio. When I got to Lubbock my son who lives there, highly recommended Scott’s Auto Repair. They squeezed me in some time and had my repair done the same day! Talk about customer service! I was very very impressed! He went above and beyond to help me get back to San Antonio! Thank you Scott and to your crew! I highly recommend this Auto Repair shop, Scott deserves your business!
4-20-20 First visit: They diagnosed my A/C problems with no charge when Firestone wanted $120 before coupons (would have been $90 after coupons). I'm not sure what the price would have been with Firestone to do the minor repairs needed, but they quoted me $1300 to essentially replace my entire A/C system. I paid a total of $255 with Scott's. Not to mention they got the entire job done in about 2 hours when it took Firestone 2 hours just to get the base line test done. I didn't even have an appointment with Scott's. I just popped in to get a rough estimate and ended up getting the job done then and there. They were pulling my car into the bay as we were pulling out of the parking lot to go run a couple other errands. I will definitely be coming back to Scott's and look forward to doing business with them in the future.
6-1-20 Second visit: My fiancé's SUV was occasionally making a popping noise when making tight turns. We took it to them and told them what we thought might be wrong (since he knows a good deal about car mechanics). They took it and had two people look at it to confirm that the noise was present, but everything was fine and nothing was worn down enough to warrant service. We already knew they weren't going to charge us to look at it, but we were expecting to have to pay for service. We offered to pay them $30ish just for looking at it and giving us peace of mind, but they refused. We are very glad to have found this shop. I will continue to edit this review as needed if we have exceptional services.
If your new to town and realize you have no clue where a trustworthy repair shop is “Scott’s Complete Car Care” is that place. I got my radiator repaired here. They gave me a fair price and did a good job. I took it in 1st thing in the morning and it was done that evening. I bet the repair would have lasted longer if I could resist the urge to total vehicles.
I referred a friend to Scott’s Complete Car Care and they were happy as well. Come here to get a fair price, on nothing but what is actually in need of repairs. It looks like LPD uses them. I figured if the cops trust them there must not be much monkey business going on here. No scams auto repairs are a real thing here.
Fantastic, speedy service! Dropped my car off this morning, without an appointment, and it was ready just a few hours later. I had several miscellaneous repairs and thought I would just get an estimate, but Scott and company were able to actually fix everything, even installing four new hubcaps. They were also able to give me a ride to and from the shop, and the total bill wasn't bad at all. Five stars!
