What an incredible experience! I had already gone to AutoZone and O’Reillys and they had diagnosed My vehicle as having alternator issues and would need a replacement, quoted me over $1000 and I would have to find a shop Needless to say, I left there feeling quite hopeless. I found On-The-Spot online and I will forever be calling him! He was kind, courteous, prompt and such a hero! He didn’t try to swindle me or jerk me around! AND HE DIAGNOSED THE REAL PROBLEM AS MY BATTERY AND HAD IT FIXED IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES HOW INCREDIBLE! This guy is an Angel and was a total blessing to this single Mom who did not have $1000 for a mid-diagnosis! Thank you Ricky! You’re forever on my speed dial and top of my recommendation list!!

I would recommend Rick. We have had 2 vehicles work on by him and they are running great. It is so convenient and fast, plus the cost is affordable. Thanks Rick for fixing our vehicles.

Rick with on the spot is very good at what he does. If he can not fix it right he has places that he recommends you take it to. But he will never be rude to you. We have used Rick for many years and he has never done us wrong. Right now he is only one person but he does a very good job. His prices are on point. When he says he is a master mechanic he is telling the truth. Rick will never lie to you.

This is a dishonest man deceiving people based on my personal experience. My SUV needed a heater hose replacement. I was parked in front O‘Rielly’s . He told me he would not warranty O’Reilly’s parts on his work, because the parts were “cheap”. He claimed that the correct part was only at Autozone. He returned 3 hours later. He charged me for a new heater hose and labor $180. He didn’t put on a new heater hose, instead he placed a $7 plastic T at the connection points! I reached out 2 days later when the plastic T blew off. He was rude! He refused to return my money or complete the job he had been paid to finish. Below are the photos of the original broken heater hose, and his repair. Lubbock Police Department said it was a civil matter rather than criminal.

Made an appointment yesterday for an emergency repair (I'm moving today and need my car fixed.) When they didn't respond I called again today and the guy was rude and basically said he'll get here when he gets here. Apparently he has a reputation for not showing up according to other reviews

It’s a breath of fresh air to be able to truly trust a mechanic! I work on cars a little myself but when you kid is away at college and I can’t be there to try and repair it I will always call Rick. 1000% honest reliable and knowledgeable. I actually feel like he looks at it as if he is taking care of his own kids vehicle. If you want honest integrity and knowledge call Rick for all your vehicle repair needs. Thank you for all you do Rick

I tried to do some work on my Tahoe and realized that it was too much work for me to do and pretty much left stuff scattered everywhere. I called ON THE SPOT and Rick was very understanding and willing to help me out. He came to my house saw my mess and began to finish what I started. He knows what he is doing and is very trusting. THANK YOU RICK

Our son is a college student in the Lubbock area, and has a job about 30 minutes or less outside of Lubbock. His water pump busted and left his truck stranded at his job. Our son was able to go and purchase the new water pump and 3 gallons of antifreeze, but ultimately we had to find someone quickly to make the repair. It was the easiest to locate a mobile mechanic instead of having the truck towed in to a shop. Where Ricky was quick to get our son on his schedule, there were some concerns that I had regarding the job. When Ricky and I spoke, I asked a cost of the job. He quoted me $350 based off of the year, make, and model of my son’s truck, and replacing the water pump. Ricky stated he had been a mobile mechanic for 8 years and he knew his vehicles. He knew what the repair would involve and felt confident with the price he gave me. He even said if the truck had been located in Lubbock, it would have only been $250, but due to the location, he had to charge more and that is why it was $350. Long story semi short, when he got to the truck, he called and said it was going to be more because of the lines that were across the top of where the water pump was, and that it would take a little longer. When I questioned that, he said to me that he had been a mechanic for 18 years and he didn’t realize that Ford had changed up the location of the lines in the year model of my sons truck. Is it 8 years as stated over the phone originally, or 18 years? Regardless, if you know your vehicles and you give a price, you honor that price. We didn’t really have a choice at that time but to pay the extra $50 because our son was stranded. When it came time to pay over the phone, he told me that our son’s truck would now need a new tensioner pulley as well as an idler pulley because they were squealing so bad. He was 100% confident that it was not just a bad bearing on them, it was most definitely the entire pulley. He said our sons belt would shred soon and leave him stranded again if we didn’t get it taken care of quickly. So my husband and I decided we needed to make the 5 hour trip up to take care of this on our sons truck. We purchased both pulleys. When we arrived, our son said that the squealing had ceased and his truck was running great. My husband was still prepared to replace the pulleys, however upon inspection, they had been covered in antifreeze from when the water pump busted, and that is what caused the squealing. Furthermore, it was obvious to see that due to the amount of antifreeze greasy residue that was at the base of the undercarriage. And to top it off, Ricky only put in a gallon and a half of antifreeze and then left. He did not start the truck up and let it come to temperature to see that more antifreeze would be required in the 3 gallon tank that the water pump holds. He also did not bother to hook his computer up to the truck to clear the codes. My husband is not a certified mechanic, but he is by far one of the very best shade tree mechanics around, and could have done the water pump replacement himself had we been available at the time of immediate need. Needless to say, the water pump now has the proper amount of antifreeze in it, codes have been cleared, pulleys are still perfectly fine, as is the belt. The truck is running perfectly. Originally before the water pump busted, our son had thought he had a misfire in his truck and went and bought new spark plugs. Nope! Not needed! It was all due to a failing water pump and had Ricky hooked up his computer to the truck, he could have easily confirmed there was not a misfire code. At the end of the day, I’m happy that the water pump was replaced and that my son was able to get back on the road, but if you are a seasoned mechanic and you know your stuff like Ricky claimed, then you better be able to honor your price, and do the job completely. Moral of the story, we will for sure drop everything back home from here on out and come and handle any truck issues for our son in the future.

Called to get a mechanic to check on the car. They didn't provide a time the mechanic would be there, they just said, "after lunch." I took the day off so I could be there when the mechanic came to check on the car. They never showed up. No call. No show. 24 hours later they called me and left me a message that just said, "This is Mobile Mechanic." And when I said we had an appointment for yesterday they just said they got swamped with two big jobs and took me off the schedule. Big jobs come up. Cars can be difficult. Jobs can certainly be pushed back. I have all the grace in the world for a business that let's me know they overbooked. Or calls me to let them know that they can't make it. But the fact that they didn't say anything at all is incredibly frustrating. If you take a look at their reviews, it's an unfortunate pattern. Nearly half of the 1 star reviews for this business are simply because they can't show up or pick up the phone. I'd love to recommend a local small business, but you're better off looking somewhere else.

I am the owner and wanted to comment on a couple of reviews and for one as far as the worker that fell asleep was fired and continued to use our name and logos to do work he since been put in jail. Second as far as the wiring y’all wires were all rigged and and jumped and your wires were already melted and recommended where you should take it to get it rewired cause we do not mess with electrical so please remove your reviews. We have done great work and have lots of recommendations and do not appreciate you guys putting such lies about us because you had more than one problem and think that one cost or one thing should fix your car completely when you were advised about it but declined to to do more or pay for it.

Do not use this company!!!!! They totally mess up and claim that another part goes out. Melted wiring harness and wires just cut and hanging.

I do not recommend using this company. My son’s fuel pump went out and we called them to come out and fix it. The mechanic came out and they had to drop the gas tank to replace the fuel pump. The mechanic was falling asleep under the truck but they fixed it. Then the check engine light came back on so we called them to come back after going back forth they came back and said it was the fuel cap so we put a new fuel cap on. Then the check engine light came on again so we called them again they came back out said the fuel tank was cracked. Long story short they cracked the fuel tank when they replaced the fuel pump.

I'll never recommend this place to anyone. Kept finding things wrong and charged me $1400 and the car is still not working. Threatened me to take my car or put a lien on it if he wasn't paid. Susgested I take it to the dealership to get it flashed. Dealership charged me $150 to pull it in and $150 to flash it and still didn't work. Dealership said a part was put on my car which didn't have the same vin number as my car. They take advantage of women. He garenteed me having it flashed would work. This was the one in Lubbock, Texas. Mr Mendez scammed me out of $1400

I DO NOT RECOMMEND, my a/c was not working and my check engine light was on. I called and spoke with the owner Ricky who made an appt for the next day, and he stood me up for 2 days declining calls and text messages, then sent a technician who charged the ac and replaced the ignition switch. Thirty minutes to an hour after he got paid $450 and left witha piece of my steering column. I called them owner and the technician and they tech came back the next day and charged ac again and "looked" over the vehicle and same y, 30 mins after he left ac stopped working and check engine light on again. I reached out to the owner again who was out of town for the fourth of July holiday and he stated that he was a "master mechanic" while his technicians could only diagnose and that he would come that Saturday a week after they had been paid and "repairs" had been performed and Saturday came and went, with no one showing up or calling and still 2 days later have heard nothing. So maybe after a while they will show up and take money and appear to be fixing the problem but disappear with the money and leave your vehicle in the same shape they found it and missing at least a piece. Spend your money some where else so you can actually get your car fixed.

Ricky and Keith were awesome! My car broke down on Monday and Ricky was able to get give me an estimate that day! The prices were fair, especially with the work being done in the parking lot of my job! I highly recommend them!

Cannot recommend Rick highly enough. With a young daughter at TTU, I am very relieved to have someone to call for car issues! Communication was excellent and the service was quick, convenient and reasonably priced.

All I have to say is AMAZING! Rick did an awesome job, very kind and knows what he is doing. He did not have to come when he did. The lady I also spoke with on the phone is kind as well. Rick is amazing! Even though appointment had to be rescheduled several times he still came out on time replaced my battery and several bulbs and fuses. I highly recommend this mechanic very knowledgeable definitely will use him for all my mechanical needs in the future. I have already raved to him to other family members and they will definitely be giving him a call. Extremely reasonable and he and Tavon went above and beyond!

Great experience with this business! I live in Houston, and my son attends Texas Tech. His car stopped while parked at dorm, likely alternator failure. Didn't know how I was gonna handle this situation, due to the distance. Scheduled On The Spot Mobile to come check out the situation. The mechanic (Tavon) was great at communicating and successfully addressed the problem. He even diagnosed the root cause was a dying battery, in addition to the alternator, which I agreed for him to replace. Their service made it easy to get my son's car back operational without having to tow to a shop.

I ended up being charge $75 more then what I was told it would cost . I needed ignition coils spark plugs and 1 igniton connecter replaced. 1 part hadn't came in the mail yet so said he'd come back to finish the next day first thing in the morning of course for an extra $25. Ended up not showing up until after lunch . Once he finished the car we turned it on and the problem was way worse . Said he'd be back to hook it up to the machine and look at the connecter he replaced. Never showed up and no call or anything .took my car to the subaru house and just got told all my connecters are broken and there's different brands of spark plugs on my car and they aren't gapped right . How does that happen if he knows what hes doing? Now I have to pay a little under $1800 to fix it . The subaru house people were in awe on how he left the car different situations for different people but this was mine with this mechanic.

Scheduled an appointment, was confirmed through 4 emails and texts and then no one showed up. When I called to see if something had happened I was treated with disrespect and rudeness. Service is generally horrible everywhere in Lubbock but this was another level. Would not suggest for anyone to do business with them. Glad I didn't actually spend any money here or meet Ricky in person as I am sure is he even more rude.

We barely made it to our Lubbock hotel near midnight on a Friday evening with the “charge system” light flashing and likely moments away from shutting down.... of course on our way to spring break with 3 kids in minivan. Luckily we chose the right mobile mechanic to call the next day- the car was not drivable. Ricky took time to diagnose further, was informative and very quickly considering we needed an alternator, battery, fixed gaskets as well as labor. We highly recommend him and will be addressing the issues found with our previous chain mechanic. Many thanks for you and your son taking us on, Ricky!

After I told him the issues i had on my car he decided to change something that did not cure my car. After he insulted me saying “300 can’t fix all your problems” He never ran test on my car like he advertised. He just saw a leak and decided that was the issue. I don’t have an issue paying for my car to be fixed if it’s going to be fixed He did offer to come back but i just don’t understand why it wasn’t done initially. Save your money and go somewhere else who can actually tell you what’s wrong with you car and not just do what they want to and also save yourself from getting disrespected.
