Absolute horrible place to do business people are rude, giving them all the information they need and they still want more. This place is the IRS of Metals. I don’t know how they do business.
This place is getting so ridiculous when you take vehicles out to the scrap them they dock you on everything if it's not bolted on the vehicle they don't want it inside of a vehicle they call it trash either that it belong to the vehicle the older woman out there is rude and hateful I started doing business with them again cuz I've got a lot of metal to scrap now I've changed my mind I'll go back to my old way since they don't want my business even when you take just the frames, rotors, and engine blocks of the car that's good metal they'll give you tin price for it cuz I was told by the older woman since it belongs on a vehicle. And if the vehicle isn't complete they dock you $20 a ton that's a rip off this business is an unfair business to the public for the way they rip people off on the way they pay and how they monopolize this area on scrap yards
Workers here are very unprofessional and disrespectful to their customers. Made fun of my dad and claimed he was lying about gaining weight from cancer. Took advantage of people who are already struggling. Not happy with how my family was treated and would not recommend this business to anyone.
If you like to get treated like you're stupid, then Jarvis is the place for you! You can ask for your pallet back, and they'll keep it to take 300 lbs off your load. This place has become a joke. The old looking blonde lady working the counter either needs to go get some training or get gone for good.
Misgraded my copper 1 to copper 2 on 297 lbs yesterday. I didn’t notice until I had drove off or I would not have not let the workers take off with my load. They do this purposefully from what I have read so I will keep away after that one. They got a good 600 dollars + worth of free material from us.
Scam artists who take advantage of people that go here, what else do you expect. 6 cents a lb for aluminum, might as well through it the dumpster. They will misgrade it to pay you less.
You better be in a commercial vehicle meant to take abuse. This place is not for the common homeowner type recycling. Don't bother going if you care about your vehicle or unless the item you're recycling is going to be valuable enough to pay for the gouges sustained during the unloading process. I understand the desire to be quick, but that doesn't mean their workers should be entirely careless. Beater trucks hauling junk should be fine here, though.
I take anything that contains metal, copper, wire, brass, aluminum cans and much much more turn it into cash, saves it going into the landfill for a great profit in your pocket. Besides it saves our world. Go green and recycle.
Rude as always , but it is what it is .. only problem I have with them is they didn't correctly grade my copper .. they marked it number 2 copper when it was end pieces t brand new roll of soft copper with no solder no paint .. just clean copper ..this is not the first time .. seems to always be the case on Saturdays too.. also they make the tare weight way higher than it really is which is bothersome ,. Other than that it is a place to get money for scrap ..
This customer is really great, they treat drivers very respectfully there. You're supposed to park in the street in front of the office and then check in with your pickup number. Pull onto the scale after you check in and then proceed to the dock to be loaded. When they're done loading the trailer they will tell you to pull forward and they will close the doors. Pull back onto the scale and then park on the street to go to the office and get your paperwork. The lady inside will go out and place a bolt seal on your trailer.
Was told I would have a long wait and that they would not check me in when I arrived. They took my weight and put me in line, but said my time wouldn’t start until I was backed into the dock. That should be illegal if it isn’t. I didn’t beg to haul this load. Truck was ordered and I showed up. Ripping off trucking companies is a good way to haul it yourself.
Took 180lbs off my ticket for two lil 1/2 inch OSB 2ft by 2ft piece of wood and one wheel that I drove the trailer in on. I was I suppose to take that tire off loaded trailer with no tools. O well they sign the checks.
Took a load of No.1 steel and dirty aluminum 2.3 tons total. They took both off the trailer at the same time instead of one at a time. Paid me 180$ Said all I had was dirty aluminum when I tried to protest and state that it was mostly No.1 the lady told me if I didn't like it they could load it back on my trailer and I could get stepping . I miss the Mexican guy that used to work the counter there new staff ant that good.
Brought stainless which pays nicely, however they said it was dirty and paid 5 cents a pound. Normally get 30 to 35 cents. They sure robbed us. Didn't know what they were doing either. Tried to pick up with magnet. Well never come here again. Lost out on about $300.00 Highway robbery.!!!!!!!!
They have their favorite they think that the workers that work there do there job honestly but they have own favorite customers I took copper from small air conditioner units and was rejected cuz I didn't have the shell well the shells were bought as scrap tin so I was banned from there so I sent that copper with a friend to sell and guess what they bought it what do you think about that ??
Should consider reselling to the public. There's plenty of metal out there than be sold to individuals to help them cut costs on projects but instead it's easier to he stingy and make consumers buy at high prices elsewhere for something y'all could be making money from.
Caution.. ripped off kids because they didn't know any better! I gave my kids 27 lbs of grade-2 copper, from computer heatsink modules. Sent them to Jarvis hoping they could learn value of recycling metal. Instead they unfortunately learned that there are companies out there willing to take advantage of customers lack of knowledge. Jarvis only paid them $0.10/lb, well below reasonable value of at least $1-$2/lb! These were all copper heat sinks without a fan. I first used Jarvis in 1990 when a student at TTU, but will no longer use or recommend to other people, I recommend potential recycles avoid taking material to Jarvis.
Polite staff, but I was saddened to hear you don't sell any items before scrapping. There was a really cool steel table, but unfortunately the front desk told me I couldn't buy it. You guys should reconsider letting people buy your scrap. There's a ton of very interesting scrap that works very well for contemporary furniture.
I had trouble at first, cuz I'm not familiar with using it, I'm new at it, but once I had my brother help me, n it gave me step by step directions, I was happy with it, it was awesome, I'm gonna put it to use more often, thanks
