ZERO STARS, I needed a quick tow to my house (not far at all) I called, and the woman on the phone said 45 mins until she could get someone out so I agreed and waited 1 AND A HALF HOURS. They would not answer my calls or return them at all horrible HORRIBLE customer service, I ended up calling another tow service and they had my car hooked up within 15 mins and they very punctual in doing so. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CANTU!!
They damaged my car in August 2024 when attempting to tow it. The cable kept breaking and it rolled into a tree bc they don't do proper upkeep on their trucks and don't know how to properly tow a vehicle. My insurance company pursued them and they refused to pay, so now I am out $1000 deductible. Do NOT ever use this company. They should be put out of business.
Used roadside assistance and was assigned to this company at 6:30PM with an estimated arrival at 7:35-8:10PM. Once 8:15 rolled around and we had no updates or communication from the company, we called them and were informed the driver was 10-15 minutes out. At 9PM, we contacted the company again and were informed once again the driver would be calling us and arriving soon. By 10PM, we realized the company was not coming. When we called the company at this point, they did not answer multiple phone calls. In the end, we were forced to contact roadside and be reassigned to a new company. Each time we got in contact with the company, the customer service was absolutely atrocious. I will never be using this company in the future and strongly recommend others don’t either.
they wrongfully towed our car from our apartment complex, and when we called they said they were wrong and would bring it back. they never did and proceeded to stop answering our calls when we tried to ask about our car. we also talked to one of their driver, and he said that they were bringing it back but never did. we had to get the cops involved because they sole our car when we had the correct sticker and were in the correct place.
The customer service was extremely rude. And they refused to give my car back for 2 weeks even though I had the money. Which ended up making it more to get my car out than I paid for the car.
The most ghetto unprofessional company ever to put up with I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
UPDATE : 3/21/25.. they towed a grey Chrysler from our apartment complex this morning and I don't if they hooked up right but the front tires were making a screeching noise and then they went over a speed bump and the car unhooked and I looked like the back tire popped !!!
Evidently communication isn’t a priority for Cantù. They picked up my vehicle while at work and it was obviously the wrong vehicle. They were looking for a white Chevy trax ans picked up my maroon trax. Garbage
This company is despicable . They come to the same apartment complex and steal people’s vehicles. They “STEAL” cars and use the law to validate for a sticker that’s hanging instead of on the window . They “stole” my car and said they took it because they see the apmt sticker but not to good because the smell good hanging with it on the rear view mirror is a little on it . So instead of charging the whole price to get my car , they still charged me a towing fee of 75$ . These Jerry Cantù dude and his son/daughter are thief's and need to be stopped. They were very rude and didn’t want to give my car back. They are so unprofessional and hire anybody . Their employees came weeks ago and once again they hooked my car up and dropped it because they seen my sticker . But yet they come today and take it for the same thing and make me pay for it … this is theft and harassment !!!
Worst tow company experience ever, called roadside assistance and they assigned this garbage to me and they never showed up, won’t answer their phone and when they do answer they act like they’re going to help and just hang up on you. Don’t do business with them or else you will regret it.
Dispatcher was incredibly rude and unprofessional when customer needed a tow truck which took about 2 hours to receive to tow a damaged truck out of their lot, that they were responsible for ruining while towing it and ended up colliding with another parked vehicle. They completely made up a false story to cover up their damaged and had to take going up there ourselves to receive the real truth out of these guys.
I wanted to wait to put a review to make sure It was my honest opinion and not out of frustration so I waited. This company is unethical. They seem to target a specific low income apartment complex and must be working with staff or a tenant there because the distance from both locations is far. 2 weeks ago as I was visiting a relative at this apartment complex I was towed after 40 mins. Yes I'm aware I didn't have a parking pass but my plan was to go in and out. I was distracted with family issues and when I jumped up to check. It was already in the air. I'm fortunate that I was able to take the vehicle out within the hour for $300. But I know other tenants who have had a friend or relative visit were not able to take out their vehicle until they were able to gather the funds (while it's add up per day). (Again these are income based apartments) I understand it's a business and that how the world works. However it doesn't make it right to target already financially struggling tenants and their friend/relatives.

This place is the peak of service (if by “peak,” you mean the bottom of a very deep hole).
Let’s set the scene: you’re already having a rough day because your car got towed, (after your dying transmission just barely managed to limp into the parking lot of a store), and the least you could hope for is a smooth, professional process. Enter this place. The operator tells me they’ll be open until 7:30PM. Great! I roll up at 6:55PM, ready to retrieve my car… and surprise! This place is locked up tighter than Fort Knox.
I call, and the operator answers, saying they’ve “gone to lunch” and will be back in 10-20 minutes. I can deal with that. Everyone needs to eat. But 45 minutes later, (after I’ve had enough time to memorize the cracks in the sidewalk and become intimately familiar with the freezing cold weather), they finally show up... chatting on Facetime with a friend and no acknowledgement that you've been there waiting.
But don't worry! There's a Yankee Candle burning in the corner trying to cover up the fact that the place hasn't been cleaned in decades.
Worst customer service. When they towed the car they were very rude to my sister about where they were taking it and told her she couldn’t pick it up last night because they need an hour notice after 5 pm. So this morning we go to pick it up, says it’s open 24 hours. Thats not true. Save yourself the trouble and call an hour ahead so you don’t have to listen to these people. The building is disgusting as well.
These 5 star reviews must be fake. We had received a text at 4:57 saying that it would be an hour until they arrived since we were outside of Lamesa. I called an hour later and their dispatch could not even get ahold of their driver to see where he was at. We waited another hour and had called a couple more times and they still could not get ahold of their driver. I finally got a call at 6:49 and the driver had called us directly stating that he hasn’t even left Lubbock!!
Horrible experience with them. We were told the wait would be an hour. Two hours later..nothing. The operator isn’t able to get a hold of the driver. This is ridiculous. Then, two hours later…the driver calls and tell us that they are just leaving and will be another hour.
Great experience. Have used them twice already and both times they showed up on time, and they always communicated a delay. Reasonable prices as well compared to other towing companies in Lubbock.
Why is this business still operating? They are thieves! Even the Lubbock police department said they are a shady wrecker company, if they know this why are they still licensed.. Lubbock people, wake up and file TDLR COMPLAINT AGAINST THEM!! I am!
The woman that towed my vehicle had her two children with her. She even had the kid speak to me because she wouldn’t. Very unprofessional!
Cantu Wrecker has untrained drivers and children helping hooking up vehicles. I used my roadside service to get a vehicle towed to our mechanic, Cantu took the service call, when they arrived the operator was having an issue hooking up to the front tires and had a kid in the front seat to get out and hold the lift while they reverse in to hook up. Once they got to the desinated mechanic was told we needed to pay an additional $16 before they would drop because we went over our allowed limit, Operator said they can only take cash, have no change and unable to write a receipt. Only had a $20 on me to give..just saw the claim that my roadside service paid and it was for $85.50 my tow limit is $120...SMH I know it's $20 bucks but prior to hooking up we should have been informed of the additional charges, but now it seems there should not have been any out of pocket expenses.
I have had the BEST experience with Cantu Wrecker. I hit a hog recently & it damaged my car to the point of it not being driveable. The incident happened around 1:30am & I was stuck in the middle of nowhere with the nearest town being 40 miles away & about an hour & 1/2 away from Lubbock. After spending 30 minutes trying to get ahold of any and all towing companies I was able to get ahold of Cantu Wrecker & they sent someone to come & get me in the middle of the night. They were so kind & so prompt. If I ever need a tow I'll only be calling Cantu Wrecker, they are such great people!
Had flat tire at 5:30 Am called for tow. Said they will be at my location between 6:49 and 7:16. Called several times after 7:16 and they told me that someone should be there within 5 minutes each time I called. Daughter called at 8:55 Am and they told her they just walked in the door to start their day. Driver called at 9:12 said he is on his way. 9:27 still no wrecker. I'm 1 mile from their yard..finally arrived at 9:40. NO APOLOGIES
I am not one to give bad review however this one has been earned.
I called the day before and scheduled a tow for 830am.
I got to the location about 30 minutes early to ensure I did not miss the driver.
At 840, no tow truck so I call them. I am told that the driver will call me in 5 minutes. I give them another 20 minutes, still no driver and no call from anyone.
I call again, I am told that the driver is 4 minutes away. Another 15 minutes and nobody, no call, no show, nothing.
I call Lubbock Wrecker Service, and they are there in 15 minutes and loaded and gone. I highly recommend Lubbock Wrecker. They did their job and were affordable.
I still have not seen or heard back from Cantu, it has been 2 hours wasted.
I have recently used Cantu Wrecker, and was very pleased with Roy. He went out of his way to even look into my hood and was even able to answer my questions about filing a warranty claims. Both times I have used them, they arrived within 10-15 minutes of me calling my roadside assistance. Roy was professional, great manors, and patience.
We walked up on them taking our car from a closed business and they refused to stop. The person answering the calls was rude, refused to give their name until we threatened to involve the police and legal action, and kept putting us on hold purposely for no other reason than to upset us, which they also declared was the reason. When I sent a written notice that the refusal would be grounds for legal action and police, we finally were able to get information about how and when to retrieve the vehicle. She kept laughing and telling us to “go ahead and try calling the police” and “good luck coming up there to try to get information.” It is upsetting enough that they stalk around like vultures, they don’t have to mock you and abuse their power as well.
Would give less than 1 star if I could. Was towed from downtown where a sign had allegedly just been put up 2 days prior. Obtained proof there was no sign and but was told it didn’t matter that I was not informed of a tow zone it was still my fault.
Texas law requires a sign at each entrance and they are failing to comply stating “someone must have torn it down.”
Yet they still charged me over 300$.
Was told a manager would be calling me and he failed to reach out.
My mother was in an accident that totaled her vehicle. We called and they answered the phone immediately. The pricing was amazing and he got there in less than 20 mins! I highly recommend using them for all of your towing needs!!!
This is good. Cantu jr towed my car from Wrench Apart. First, the tow paper said illegal parking. But I showed them proof it was not so They changed it to an abandoned vehicle for a reason. But don't show they contacted (PCA) to mark it for sitting for more than 48 hours as marked in the law. Then they charged me $275. When texas rates are $255 as of January 10, 2023, for (PP) tows. I also got there before the 12-hour mark which meant no storage fee but they still charged me. There fix to all this ...take it to court. Just on principle I am going to court
So my car quit on me by O Reilly's Distribution Center(8/5/23)/@3:35 in the morning on my way to work.This sorry company has a contract with Tripple AAA. We had to call 15xs literally because no one wanted to get out of bed and do their job!! They had to be called by Tripple AAA 7xs because we couldn't get through. I missed 8hrs of work do to inconsistency with this company and the lack of work ethic.Thank goodness it wasn't snowing or raining I would have been in serious trouble.I waisted 7 1/2 hrs playing around waiting for them to come.Finally after 6 hours RPM Towing was dispatched and they came 20min after receiving the call from Tripple AAA.Cantu does not need to operate in Lubbock maybe surrounding smaller towns but not Lubbock because it's obvious they could careless about the customer and can't handle calls at all times of the night&day but you're supposed to be 24hrs!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!Pictures are of me sitting and waiting while in the dark and then when the sun was up yeah that darn long
I just want to say this towing service helped me so much last Sunday. I was stranded in Snyder in a rental with the keys locked in the truck (the switch to put the back seats down was in the truck so they were stuck there) the rental company tried to find an Uber so me, my boyfriend and 2 kids could get home. Because of the long drive it was impossible to find one. When Cantu called me, I had asked how many passengers they could hold and he said 1. I explained my situation and he said he would call me back. He ended up calling about 5 minutes later and said he has a bigger truck he can use that can fit all of us. He drove all the way from Lubbock to enter, back to Lubbock with us and the kids. At 10 at night. He was such a a life saver. The service was absolutely great and it was such a great experience with this company.
Our trucks suspension went out at Home Depot last week and Cantu's towed our car to our shop for a very reasonable cost. Our wrecker driver was so helpful and he went above and beyond to make sure the truck didn't get damaged in the towing. Very nice people. We will use them for towing from here on out. Thank you Cantu's.
