Lana was fantastic! True customer service. They offered a courtesy ride back home and pick up when my vehicle was ready. Went in for. Tune up and after the inspection provided service on what was needed and further information on future needs. Highly recommend !

Don't be fooled. Eric’s Car Care seems friendly up front — but once something goes wrong, it becomes delays, excuses, and attempted add-on charges. Unfortunately, my experience matches what other reviewers have described. In May 2022, they installed a throttle body on my 2007 Ford Explorer. Shortly afterward, the vehicle began having intermittent stalling, and it has steadily worsened. A throttle body should last 100,000 miles or the life of the vehicle, so this kind of failure this soon after installation is unacceptable. Last week, a second mechanic at a Yelp four-star shop inspected it and said the throttle body was “faulty out of the box” and not a Motorcraft or Original Equipment Supplier part. When I brought the vehicle back to Eric’s, they kept it for three full days, then told me “nothing is wrong” and attempted to charge me $125 to “look into it” — exactly the kind of delay and added fees others have warned about. The manager blamed the delay on having only one mechanic and my vehicle being “in line.” To make it worse, they claimed the warranty had expired, but when I asked for the signed warranty documentation, they couldn’t produce it. If you’re going to deny coverage, you should be able to provide the paperwork you say I agreed to. Run — don’t walk — away from this shop.

Eric Car Care is hands down one of the best auto shops I’ve been to. The staff was honest, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly without trying to upsell unnecessary services. The work was done quickly and at a fair price, and my car has been running great since. It’s refreshing to find a place you can truly trust with your vehicle. Highly recommend Eric Car Care to anyone looking for reliable and quality service.

I brought my vehicle here in November 2025 for a warranty diagnosis and was given inaccurate information. The shop attempted to push a ~$7,000 repair that was later confirmed by a Toyota dealership to be completely unnecessary. Based on this experience, I do not trust their diagnoses or recommendations and would not recommend anyone take their vehicle to this auto shop.

Was looking for a place to get an emissions inspection so I could register my car. They were able to get me in the same day and I had the inspection done in great timing! Nice people and great service

I came in to get an unknown noise coming from the front left of my car checked out. I don’t know much about cars and I was worried it was something serious, but it turns out it was just that all of the lug nuts on that tire were loose and the noise was coming from the tire wobbling while driving. I had just gotten new tires at a different shop, and they must not have tightened them down correctly. Mark and everyone else there were very kind and didn’t end up charging me at all, which was so nice! I will definitely be taking my car here from now on for regular maintenance!

Eric’s Car Care was quick with my repair and by far gave us the best quote for my dent/scrape. Other shops were saying I needed to replace my door. Eric’s Car Care got it done for half the price, no need to replace my whole door, and worked w us to get it done quickly before my husband went back to work leaving us with no car. Erika was great and provided amazing customer service! Very nice and informative.

Customer service gave me some options to repair my poor car so I actually had to think a little (but not much thankfully). The work was completed quicker than expected which was nice. The bonus is, my car now has faster tires on it so I can get to the passing lane faster to slow down. Big thank you to Marquis Mark and his bunch at Eric’s on Kirby!!! Aloha

Read all their 1 star reviews before ever thinking about taking your car here. One thing you’ll find in common is the owner can never find record of the customers with horrible experiences. Further shows how shady of a place this is. There are plenty of good shops in Houston… just go elsewhere.

I brought my car in for an AC issue (either late June or early July) and ended up returning four separate times over the course of several weeks before it was finally resolved in August. The process was frustrating and drawn out. At first, they found a leak in the Schrader valve and replaced it. When that didn’t fix the issue, they diagnosed it as a bad evaporator coil, which was costly to replace. At this point I was close to having spent just shy of $3000 in total. Days later the AC wasn’t working, and on the next visit they discovered a discharge hose had been left unconnected. After reconnecting it, and sending me on my way the issue came back again. Only then was it finally determined to be a failing compressor. To their credit, they covered the cost of the last two refrigerant recharges and the compressor replacement. However, by that point, I had made four separate trips and spent weeks dealing with inconsistent results and I was over it. On top of that, I later found my windshield washer hose had been left unconnected, and the original Schrader valve they had removed was still just sitting loose under the hood. That said, I do want to thank Mark for his consistent communication and follow-ups throughout all of this. He was the main who kept me informed and felt like he genuinely tried to help get the issue resolved. I do commend him. In the end, the AC is finally fixed and I will say their customer support was good. I just expected more for the time and money spent.

They were clear on what needed to be done, repair time was accurate, they even went beyond to have it done in one day. Clear cost estimate and fair pricing. Appreciated the uber service to and from also. Would definitely use them for my car repairs again!

I am grateful for this shop and Mark! My daughter is a grad student and is a long way away from home, and knowing she has a trustworthy place to take her car gives me such peace of mind. They took care of her car after a minor accident and treated her with kindness and respect! I highly recommend!

After getting into a small little incident with my car, I worked very closely with Mark to get it fixed. He communicated with me directly and helped me and my mom understand each individual aspect involved with the process. The customer service was exceptional, and I would recommend, Eric’s Car Care Rice Village and Mark specifically for anyone but especially someone, like me, who just moved to Houston for School and has never really had to handle an issue with her car on her own yet. The work done directly on my car was amazing and restored the condition to a state even nicer than before my little accident. Would recommend!

At every step of the process the team here are super friendly, and communicate well. They tell you and show you exactly what they’re going to do and why. They recently went above and beyond to fix a major issue with my car in 36 hours so I could get away for Labor Day weekend. They sent me updates and photos and followed up with me a few times afterwards. I don’t know much about cars but they never make me feel like I asked a dumb question, which I appreciate! Highly recommend Eric’s Car Care to anyone without hesitation.

After just 3 months since getting my engine oil changed at midas, the engine warning light came back on, so I came here. Their service was extremely organized and excellent! After servicing the car, they took pictures of each issue and explained whether each part really needed replacement or not. I was VERY impressed by this!

Very honest and transparent service. I worked with Manny and he was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Great communication throughout everything and phenomenal customer service all around. They sent me pictures of everything they recommended me to repair or replace. After telling Manny I was working with a budget, he was very helpful and transparent with telling me what was most necessary to fix and which items I could leave out or get done in the future. He kept me updated every step of the way and met all of the timelines they gave me. They worked very fast and returned my car within a few days. They did great work and were very reasonably priced, especially for the area. All around great customer service, I’ll be a forever customer, and would definitely recommend.

Mark and the rest of the crew at Eric’s are fantastic! When the parts ordered for a brake repair from suppliers didn’t fit properly, Mark would not stop until properly fitting parts were found! During this process, Mark always kept me informed (which was extremely helpful!!). Mark, Manny, and the shop crew at Eric’s are friendly, professional, and competent at their craft. I will be returning to Eric’s for all of my automotive service needs.

Was in town for my wife’s medical appointments when smoke started to come out from underneath the hood. Took my car in, and was met with complete hospitality. They ordered us a uber ride back to the hotel. It turned out to be the a/c compressor, which happened to also be on back order for about 3 weeks. Luckily my car is under warranty and we had it towed to a dealership. Even though I wasn’t able to have my car repaired by Eric’s, the hospitality was incredible. Would definitely recommend coming here if you’re in need.

Customer service was great. Mark answered all my questions and gave me honest advice about my vehicle. I didn’t feel overwhelmed at all. They attended to my exact problem and didn't try and make new ones like other mechanics I've dealt with in the past. Thank you all for your kindness and help.

I’ve used Eric’s Car care several times in the past. They’ve always been great! Today I was heading out of town and noticed that my car was acting sluggish and quick to accelerate. I brought it to Eric’s. Their response was that my car was under warranty through the dealership. I appreciated the honestly. They could have easily repaired my car and charged me. Then they asked to take a look at my car, since I was there. Turns out it was a simple error on my part and they easily made the adjustment. I was in and out in 10 minutes. If they hadn’t offered to take a look, I would have driven 30 miles to the dealership. I appreciate that they took the extra step to try to help me. You have a customer for life! Ask for Manny — honest, patient, and truly professional After a frustrating experience at another repair shop where I left feeling overcharged and unsure, I brought my car to Eric’s Car Care Rice Village—and I’m so glad I did. Manny Chavarria was the person who helped me, and he exceeded every expectation. My situation was a bit complicated, but Manny remained calm, patient, and completely professional throughout. He listened carefully, explained things clearly, and never pressured me into anything. I have MaxCare coverage, and Manny was extremely familiar with the system. He walked me through the process smoothly, making sure everything was handled correctly. That expertise gave me so much reassurance during a very stressful time. I had read in other reviews that Manny was exceptional—and now I know those reviews were absolutely true. What impressed me most was his integrity. Even when I shared my experience at the previous shop, he didn’t say a single negative word about them. He focused entirely on helping me, not criticizing others. I typically have a more than excellent experience at Eric’s car care, but my most recent visit left something to be desired. I really did not expect for my level of service to change based on how much money I was willing to spend here, because of my experience with them in the past, but I went to them recently for a simple inspection, and because I turned down their offer of more services I felt like the treatment I received changed. In the past, I have received excellent service, but I’m wondering if it is because I spent more money. I have noticed that they have a high turnaround in employees and I rarely see the same employee twice if I don’t go within a few months. I likely won’t be back for a while.

Very convenient from my workplace in the medical center. I didn’t have an appointment schedule for an oil change but they worked me end that Friday afternoon. I give them more than 5 stars. Manny was very knowledgeable as to other repairs needed for my Honda. I also love the fact that he was able to let you see visual photos from your vehicle that needs to be repaired. I’m a single mom and sometimes repair guys just tell you anything just to get work done and not necessary. But Manny was very detailed and specific to the point. I highly recommend this place. I also sent my daughter for her oil change and repairs.

We had a great experience at Eric’s Car Care and felt especially taken care of by Steve there! Our car was in an unfortunate flood in Galveston, and the crew at Eric’s was able to get it back running 100%. They completed the job in a timely fashion, and Steve was SO great at regularly providing me and my insurance provider updates on the vehicle. He showed a tremendous amount of patience in dealing with the latter. We won’t hesitate to use Eric’s (and ask for Steve!) when we have another car issue. A five star experience all around… zero complaints.
