Very friendly and helpful. Pricing was fair and the option for a tow is an added bonus. My car was fixed ahead of schedule and under budget.

During stressful times, Barry was so incredibly honest and helpful. We need more business with this level of integrity.

Barry and Nick were so honest and helpful! I took my car in and they treated me like family, instead of getting my hopes up and making money off of me they gave me an HONEST answer. They told me to get rid of my car as soon as possible because it wasn’t safe and it was a ticking time bomb. I’m so grateful for their honesty especially being a mom to a young child. They could have charged me an arm and a leg instead they only charged me for the diagnostic. I will forever send everyone to them!

They charged my friend $2,000 for 25 mile tow with a winch. Which took them from 6:13 am( time the cops told her to CANCEL her tow man) and they had my truck in THEIR garage by 7:48am. Never did they ever even surrender the name of the driver to me just a run around. Anyways they go on to convince me my truck is Totaled however when I got to the garage my truck was NOT in a Totaled condition by appearance other than it being of use to them considering the 4 broke down dodges they were apparently working on. I wouldn't even recommend this one star based off their basic attitude even.

I wish I had found Barry’s shop sooner. I moved out to Marion a while ago, and even though this shop is only a few miles away, I didn’t stop in until recently — but I’m glad I finally did. I originally came in for a basic oil change, and they gave me a heads-up on a few maintenance items worth addressing with my Silverado (just passed 102k miles). They weren’t pushy about it — just honest, straightforward advice. I had them replace the sway bar end links, and let me tell you, the difference in handling is night and day. Tighter steering, more confidence in the corners — I could feel it right away. These guys know their stuff. I called them afterward just to say thanks, and you could tell they take pride in what they do. Barry runs a solid, no-BS shop. I’ll be back for the transmission fluid and coolant work when payday rolls around. If you’re looking for honest work and a shop that actually cares, don’t sleep on this place. —Tram

There are two things that let you know you are at a top rate garage: dirty fingernails and good coffee. Barry's Oil has both!

A headlight went out on my truck and the grill has to be disassembled to replace bulb. Called on Friday afternoon to try to get it fixed today they said yes and when I arrived they immediately went to working on it and got it done VERY EFFICIENTLY. Hats off to them.Thank You Very Much!!

Went for an inspection, parked right under the "State Inspection" sign, was told "we don't do inspections". Should be illegal to have that sign and not provide the service. Edit: After reading the response, I can state that there was no mention of the weather. The fact of the matter is that it was barely even sprinkling. Furthermore, there is no brake check. The brake lights are checked and that is all. To say that you declined to do an inspection due to the weather is an outright lie. Your exact statement was "We don't do inspections.".You then did mention other locations to get an inspection but there was never any mention of the weather. I went to Schertz and got one an hour later (and by then, it was actually raining pretty hard). So not only is your sign a deception, but you are clearly not an honest person.

Marion Police Department uses Barry's Oil for towing after an arrest. The County Jail provides the phone number to the shop instead of the towing service. The recording says they are closed Sunday. This is misleading and can cost you an extra day on towing fees. The towing yard IS OPEN ON SUNDAYS...it is a just a different phone number to call. They seem to be happy to take the money. Barry acknowledged it was misleading and did offer a discount but never said he would correct the situation so they will continue to collect fees even if they know they what causes the confusion. Seems like nice family but money corrupts all. I suggest they make the correction to protect there general public from this predatory practice.

"Excelent customer service" -- My wife's vehicle stalled, on her way to work, Barry responded and took care of the towing and vehicle evaluation/diagnosis within a few hours. Parts were ordered and repairs were done by the next day. Vehicle is back on the road. I would recommend Barry's oil to anyone in the area.

I've been using Barry's services for many years now on my personal and our company vehicles. He has always been straight up and honest with me and I would recommend him to anyone that asked for a mechanic in Marion

I was wrong about not needing to show proof of insurance; I stand corrected on that point. I took a trailer in for an inspection. I insisted that all the lights worked but none of them did. Know what the problem was? A little corrosion on the electrical plug. A couple minutes with some Q-tips and rubbing alcohol is all it took to fix the problem. Now I know! Surprised that a "mechanic" like Barry didn't even suggest such a simple, logical, obvious fix. I mean, what else could it have been? The trailer is new, and the lights worked last week. What could cause wires (coated with plastic, attached to a trailer) to spontaneously break? Sure enough, the answer is "nothing". My advice to everyone: find a real mechanic. Barry isn't one. Also, while Barry will inspect your trailer "sight unseen" if you're a frequent customer (or on his good side), he won't even suggest simple fixes if it's Friday at 4:00 and he's ready for the weekend. I only got stopped for the right-rear light not working. I replaced it and it's worked fine ever since -- including now. The trailer's electrical is 100% -- only the electrical adapter plug between the truck and the trailer needed some cleaning of its copper contacts. I was only there for a $7 trailer inspection -- I figured Barry could handle that much. I would never take my vehicle there for any serious repairs. Nice attempt to make me look like a hypocrite though. Regarding the restroom visit, I was trying to watch some Android App Development videos to pass the long wait time, and Barry's waiting room had 3 people (including 2 young children) and a TV set at normal volume. The only place with some quiet (and A/C) was the restroom! P.S. I've heard LOTS of bad reports over the years about Barry not being a real mechanic. He could have got someone hurt or killed a month ago by mis-diagnosing a problem with the brakes: he thought it was the muffler! AVOID THIS PLACE. I recommend K&S Garage in Cibolo, or Hard Luck Auto.
