We had Big E’s Garage do quite a bit of work on our BMW over time. At first, we didn’t question recurring issues because BMWs can be known for having problems. However, after several visits, we noticed a pattern. The original issue would usually be fixed, but shortly after leaving the shop, a new problem would appear. This happened multiple times, which raised concerns for us. We eventually spoke with the owner and shared that we were worried the mechanic may have been causing additional damage. We were later told that mechanic would no longer be working on our vehicle, and we were able to move on and sell the car.
More recently, we brought in a different vehicle for what should have been a straightforward radiator hose replacement. We even purchased the hose ourselves. We were reassured the problematic mechanic was gone and that there was nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, just a few miles after picking up the vehicle, a dashboard warning appeared indicating low Freon. When we pulled over to check, we discovered the original leaking hose was still on the vehicle and had not been replaced as we were told. After contacting the owner, he insisted the hose had been replaced. Once we got home and inspected further, it was clear the hose had not been changed, and there was additional damage to the hose bracket.
We had to take the vehicle to another mechanic, purchase another new hose, and pay again for the repair. During that repair, a crack in the radiator was also discovered. If the hose had actually been replaced as claimed, this issue likely would have been identified earlier. Overall, this situation cost us roughly $2,000 in additional repairs. We attempted to resolve this directly with the shop and requested a refund, but that was refused.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this shop.
Untrustworthy and Unprofessional Service
This company was dispatched through AAA for roadside assistance, and the experience was terrible from start to finish. The technician did not return our wheel lock key after the service, and when I called to ask about it, the supervisor (Richard) was extremely rude and hung up on me while I was simply asking for an update.
To make matters worse, they charged me for two service calls because their technician chose to put air in the tire instead of installing the spare tire as clearly requested from the start. We ended up with extra charges, missing equipment, and zero accountability from the company.
If this company is dispatched for your AAA call, request a different provider.
I had a blowout on the interstate today and AAA sent Isryel from Big E’s garage. He was on time, professional, and changed my tire and had me back on the road within 15 minutes. He also checked the air in my other tires to make sure I had a safe trip home. 5 stars!!
I ran out of fuel on my way from Dallas and called triple A they dispatched Ryan H. Right off the bat he did not give me confidence from the beginning when he said I hope I can find you. So if you are stranded don’t expect this company to put you at ease that help is coming. On the map it showed he was a minute away and when I didn’t see him I called him to see if he was at the right location. Again he was unsure of where he was. When I explained to him where I was in a stern voice he hung up on me. Then the owner of the company called me and said they were going to leave me stranded on the did of the road. So unless you are going to speak to these people with rainbows and butterflies even though it’s 80 degrees outside and you are stranded on the side of the road don’t call these people. Especially Ryan H. And if you are a woman they will leave you stranded in tne middle of the road for being frustrated about the situation. I have tne whole conversation with her recorded because I know they will say I was being disrespectful
We had to call AAA today and they dispatched Big E's to help us out. They arrived on time, were very professional & got us back on the road in no time. Thank you Big E's!
It’s always scary getting stranded by yourself with children. That’s why I have AAA. They dispatched Ryan from Big E’s Garage. Was quoted someone would arrive in an hour. He arrived in 20 minutes. He was so helpful, it ended up being a little more complicated than just a battery but he was able to help me get the issue resolved and I was able to get to the car repair safely. Ryan really went above and beyond to help me. I highly recommend, and thank them for professional service!
I had a very good experience with Nicholas helping me out with a flat tire situation. He was unbelievably knowledgable, thoughtful in his process, and efficient in his work. He was absolutely top notch.
I thought it was a fluke when the first time they arrived to change a tire, the technician couldnt figure out how to get the spare out of my van. I ended up just changing my own tire.
Now last night, no separate incident. My car had a flat tire, and AAA dispatched Big E again. Text said I love nuts were on too tight and he wasn’t going to be able to change the tire. The tech didn’t even put the tire on the jack. Clearly doesn’t want to work. We dispatched Hillcountry customs next and had no problem changing the tire. These guys are a joke.
Useless organization. I called AAA, they wrote to me that the driver will be there in 1-1.5 hours. 2 hours have passed and the status is still “in dispatch”. Judging by other reviews, they would never have arrived. It says they are open until 5pm, then why do they take all orders after 6pm and just ignore them???
Between me and my parents we have needed roadside assistance services a few times in the last couple of years and through AAA we always get referred to Big E's and I will tell you that most of the time they will not show up or even give you a call to let you know that they're not going to show up. I would shred lightly with going with this company because if they're not going to be able to help you when you are stuck on the side of the road and flat out refuse to help you, they don't need to be a member of AAA and the fact that that's all the AAA can find in these Central Texas area is pretty sad. It's been cold and I have literally been stuck on the side of the road without even power in my vehicle to keep me warm and they flat out refused to help me. More than once mind you. I think AAA should personally kick this company to the curb because they've never done anything positive that I've actually known somebody to say. Pretty sure all these five star reviews are paid people. Right now I'm still sitting in my car waiting and when I got the no this time I started the review so I would take your time elsewhere because these people are not worth it.
Waylon and all of the team at Big E’s is AMAZING!! Got a quote from the dealership for an insane amount. Got a second opinion from Big E’s and they were the nicest, super accommodating, and amazing customer service. They got my car in the NEXT day to check it out, stayed in constant communication then had it all completely done and feeling brand new within 4 days for a third of the price I was quoted from the dealership. They are THE BEST! Thank you to everyone at Big E’s!
Would like to commend Big E’s Keys on their outstanding employees. I am always relieved when I call AAA and they are sent. I particularly would like to compliment the technician they sent today, Luke. He is polite, professional, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about the particular problem my vehicle had today. He knew exactly what to do and how to get my Honda Ridgeline started. He was patient and kind, and got my truck going. Thank you so much, Big E’s Keys and especially Luke! Highly recommend this business!
This place was great. The customer service was fabulous.
I needed to have a taillight replaced on a newer modeled vehicle, and the dealer quoted me $1,900 just for the part ! Labor was going to be $150 more ! Robert, at Big E's helped me to find the part for about $300, and he's only charging me $50 to install it
Robert was honest, reasonable, and fair.
I have already recommended my mom use Big E's for her auto service/ repair needs.
I have saved their contact info on my phone, and they will be my first call in the future....
Big E's is a well run business with nice people.

If I could give zero stars I would! Called AAA and they said that Big E would send someone out to change a tire. They gave the estimated time and we got a text saying they would be arriving early. It's been almost 2 hrs later. I've called them and the first time someone named Brandon answered and said it would be 25 minutes. Still no one has called and arrived. Called them back several times but no answer. how are you going to be a 24 hr assistance and not answer the phone? They took so long that we had someone else change it. If that's how they do business I don't want them to ever come help with anything and I wouldn't recommend them either. Good luck if you have to deal with them.
I rarely give reviews, however, I felt compelled to give big E towing my attention. Let me first start out to say that I did not exactly have the most smooth experience, but it's how BigE handled the situation which easily earns my 5 stars.
They not only took responsibility, but also provided all the necessary steps to keep me updated throughout the process until it was resolved.
I would totally use Big E again and highly recommend them. Very reputable company and their owner is responsible and honest business owner.
Contacted AAA about needing a new battery. After long delays "Big E's Keys" came out charged up the dead bater, informed me it would need to be replaced, then did NOT replace it. He said he did not have it on him and that he would go back to his office get one and come back to install the battery. That never happened and got no communication whatsoever to explain why. I was sick and did not want to do it myself this time but the next day I did. No big deal but you guys need to follow through and get the job done.
AAA contacted Big E's Key and Roadside when they could not find a locksmith available near Boerne. Having to drive over an hour Brent came to the rescue in just a couple hours. Brent had the key already cut and programmed upon arrival and was good enough to stay longer than needed to charge the dead battery. Brent's knowledgeable and excellent service gave us peace of mind. Thank you for your help.
I actually used Big E’s roadside service for a tow all the way to Laredo, and they did it in the middle of the night… These people are Lifesavers, they came through while nobody else would. I highly recommend them. I wish I could give more stars, 5 Stars.
Requested a tow through AAA after my brakes locked up, and Mike arrived in less than 30 minutes. Looked at the brake lines and solved the issue I had with them. Treated me with respect and clear communication. Would definitely recommend them if you need a tow in there area!
Big E's was friendly and took the time to plan different options we could try to get my son's truck started. The issue I had was the key would not work. They sent a locksmith out as a first step. He called me ahead of time as requested so I could meet him there. The rekey didn't work due to it being the ignition itself. I figured it wouldn't likely work but for the reasonable price it was worth a try. They were able to tow it back to their shop and fix it the same day! I had called other tow companies and they either didn't answer or didn't offer tire dollies to tow with. Since the truck was in park we needed it towed that way. Big E's all the way! From locksmith to tow to mechanic I was very pleased.
Ernest came to pick me up for towing. He was so very nice. I just had a car accident and was really stressed but he was super respectful, super kind, very understanding. Really great guy. He’s the reason that I would completely trust towing services and AAA. He really did really well and I’ve contacted AAA to let them know how nice and courteous and thoughtful he was. I have been waiting at the scene of a wreck forever and he still ran me by her restroom offered to take me home after the car was dropped off. Wanted to make sure everything was OK, he was a good conversationalist, and really Took care of business during a very difficult time. Took real good care of my car towing it and letting it off the tow truck. Very impressed by this guy!!! Thanks Ernest!!!
I used Big E's through my AAA. They were awesome! Arrived o time as the Ttx snowstorm was melting and jumped my car battery. Very down to earth, professional actions. I was very pleased with the arrival time and tips to replace my battery. I appreciated all Ralph did for my car. Very thankful.
Brought my garage queen '92 Mustang GT in to Big E's garage to get assorted mechanical and body work done. I am VERY picky about this car; Big E's team met my very demanding expectations, and were very gracious and patient with me. Big E (the actual owner) did a great job personally finding a couple of hard to find replacement parts, and suggested some nice upgrades. Everything was professionally done and at a fair price. I requested a tow through AAA and received service form Big E's. Jason, the tow truck driver, was incredibly nice and helpful. There was a mix up at the auto care center my car was towed to, and they would not let him leave the car. He was patient and understanding while I got the mix up sorted out. With the mess of having TWO flat tires and dealing with some pretty horrendous service from a Walmart tire center, it was a relief to have his help. Thank you, Jason.
Just had a car towed by Big E’s through AAA. Another company was dispatched out but cancelled them because they are rude and NOT professional at all!! Fernando came out and was very nice and professional! He took care in loading and tying down the car. He was knowledgeable and took his time, making sure all was right! Very clean truck! Will definitely be requesting Big E’s through AAA when I need a tow!
My car wouldn't start, so I needed my car fixed and was given a quote by the dealership but it was outrageous! Called AAA and Big E's came out and checked my car. The tech said it was not my starter as I had been advised by the dealership. Big E"s wanted to check my car before I spent money on stuff that wasn't even wrong with my car. They towed me to the shop, checked my car... Guess what!... They saved me hundreds! I was given the wrong battery by Auto Zone. My car was fixed for a significant amount less. Big E's is my go to shop for my car. They are honest, fast, and definitely affordable!
Literally one of the best experiences with a company I have ever had!!! I called the office at Big E's to come out for an issue with a key to my truck. 20 minutes later Jordan showed up at my house to troubleshoot the issue. Super nice and very professional. Was at my house for less than 30 minutes and had the issue taken care of. Couldn't be more pleased with the service provided. Will not use anyone other than Big E's in the future for any locksmith services!!!!
