Jack was absolutely AMAZING in helping us with our liquor and delivery for my wedding!!!! There isn't enough kind words to describe the impeccable service we received from them!!!
Horrible and very expensive place. While I was talking to the rude and abnormal cashier, she was eating Snack in the most horrible way while ignoring me, I ran away in horror. Never go to this place again.
Ah, the tragic tale of my dearly departed Luksusowa potato vodka. It began with a simple errand: a quick stop for my favorite Polish luxury distilled from spuds. The service? Impeccable, as always. But alas, distracted by a fellow shopper, I forgot to utter those crucial words: "Double bag it, please."
Fast forward to my driveway after a grueling day at work. There I was, not ten feet from the car, when gravity conspired with a flimsy plastic bag to orchestrate a catastrophe. The bottom seam gave way, and my cherished 750 ml bottle plummeted to its untimely demise. The sound of shattering glass echoed like a requiem for $20 well spent—or rather, wasted.
Now, I don’t mind paying premium prices for quality vodka on the peninsula. But when the bag carrying it has the structural integrity of wet tissue paper? That’s where I draw the line. Surely, with all the taxes and markups we endure, they could spring for bags that don’t self-destruct under pressure. RIP, Luksusowa—you deserved better.
I travel and go to a lot of liquor stores and have been to most in the Houston area. This store had an unbelievable amount of inventory and great prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are staying close, or far, this is def worth the trip. One of my better liquor store experiences.
Is your policy not allowing backpacks at the store? I have a smaller backpack that I take for work with me everyday. Small black Lululemon backpack. I had to leave it upfront per Russ. So I don’t look suspicious buying wine. I haven’t been here much. I always go to Big Store once a week for all my essentials. Just saying. And I asked were it says that I need to leave my belongings upfront. Like he is going to watch it for me. Just rude! He said we used to have a sign that says it.
Manager showed Special Interest in a returned product. It was a 'bad Rum' from San Patricio in Port Arthur, Tx. Immediately showed me alternative replacements.
Shop here and shop local. Normally go to Specs in Galveston but this place is Great!
Great store! Tons of different choices. Great variety of wine. Lots of fun flavors of everything. Huge supply of liquid IV which is essential in this summer/beach life!
Is probably the only liquor store in and around the Crystal beach/anahuac area, so business is good. Went here to purchase some drinks. Had a great experience....
Busy! The people are very nice and there was a women offering samples of truly summer edition. Some drunk guy was hitting on me and other women and she jumped in to my rescue and called an man employee for assistance. I was offered assistance by employees for help finding an item. Overall I highly recommend if you need to buy liquor or wine at the beach. But if you want to save money, bring it from wherever you live. It's much pricier on the beach!
This is a pretty small liquor store, but they pack it full of alcohol. I have even found bargains here better than Specs in Houston, but that is rare. They can't carry everything, but I do find something compatible to what I like, when they don't have my first preference.
We love this store! The owner will stop and chat of he's there. He's also really good at recommending different liquors depending on your current "alcohol of choice". We've had some great vodka that's distilled in Texas... really good. We've picked up some top shelf bourbons as well.
This is definitely our "go to" store when we're staying here.
Reasonably priced liquor. The lady at the front desk was very helpful as the wife and I wanted to try something different so we bought a few some bottles and took her suggestions. They were all good. Will stop in again.
Drove right by but noticed the nice looking building and Island Liquor sign we turned around and went in for a look. Very good large selection. Kudos to the counter person, can't think of his name, who helped me find a bottle of wine that really symbolized Texas, for a souvenir bottle to take home. He found me on with the map of Texas on it! If I ever get back I will drop in for another look!
Friendly staff. Easy to navigate store. Decent selection but don't expect a great craft beer selection. They also carry cigarettes, cigars, ice, some frozen drinks, and most importantly cold beer.
