Had our transmission blow two weeks before Thanksgiving. This place was closest and had good reviews so we towed our truck here. They had it for almost two weeks and rebuilt the engine, which included a 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty. They said to wait atleast 500 miles before towing our trailer, which we did. Towed the trailer and things seemed fine. A few days later we started hearing a noise and it was driving a bit off. Took it back to them and told them that the truck also started having issues with the reverse lights staying on after the truck being off. Fast forward a week and a half later and no communication. We call on a Thursday and are told that they needed to replace something fuse related. Friday we get a call that the trucks ready. We go pick it up and are told that the noise we were hearing was the brakes that needed replaced. Didn't agree with that, but okay. I was then told there would be a balance to pay (which was never disclosed at all during the time they had the vehicle). Leave with the truck to STILL hear the same noise. I highly doubt they even drove it off the parking lot because had they of done that they would have heard that it's CLEARLY not the brakes.
Long story short, $10,000 later we just took the truck in to the dealership to trade it in.
Do not recommend this place at all.
Went in because my jeep was having issues starting, auto start/stop light was on and my ac was making a rattling sound. They had my jeep problems diagnosed (starter, blower motor, & aux battery) and fixed within a couple days and at a fair price. They were nice and I would say trustworthy because unlike some other mechanic shops they didn’t try to gauge me on pricing or come up with a list of 35 things wrong that have nothing to do with my issues. 10/10 would recommend and would return for other vehicle maintenance if I need some work done.
Cannot speak more highly of 36 A&TR!!! Everyone who works there speaks to you with honesty. It’s evident they care genuinely about your concerns with your vehicle. They are the definition of what a true small town shop should be, honest, hard working, and highly skilled. The communication and the work that they did blew me away and thankfully didn’t take an arm and a leg like most corporate shops were quoting to repair my Silverado. Thank y'all so much again and will definitely return for future services!
Saturday our RV broke down with a frozen brake caliper on the way to Brazos Bend State Park. Called several places that couldn’t help us. 36 auto and trans repair brought a tow truck out and vehicle to take us and our dog back to their garage. They repaired it that afternoon. Fed us and stayed late to make sure we were ok. Couldn’t have met nicer people or received better service. Would highly recommend.
They do amazing work! Very friendly and understanding of issues. Try really hard to provide great service at an affordable price. I would recommend them to anyone who need vehicle assistance.

It’s not a bad place they just don’t like to answer the phones. It says open at 8 but they never answer around 8 and it’s 9:30 now. I think they should just say open at 10am other than that they’re nice people we’ll see how my car is afterwards 🤞🏽

I will never go back. Took my tundra in 30k miles for a regular sticker renewal inspection, they had to waste half of my day and the 25$ dollar fee, saying there was something wrong with the computer port of my truck. Went from there straight up to the dealer, there was alsolutly nothing wrong with the port in my truck, past inspection at the Toyota dealer.
Went back to them, and they came out with a 2 year old toddler excuse to avoid the 25 dollars reimbusrsement. If you are looking 4 a place to waste your time and money, this is the right palce

The first thing most people have when they enter a Auto shop is trust. Trust that their car is in safe hands. After my experience at this certain shop, I can say that I have never regretted trusting people so much as I have with them. It is the most dishonest place I have ever gone to. I took my truck to get a simple sensor placed, came out with problems the truck didn’t even have before entering this Auto Shop. Then they said they could fix it, but we would have needed to pay more. I’m sorry, why would I have to pay for problems it didn’t even have before I entered the place? Don’t recommend this Auto Shop.
Very friendly and courteous people. when our transmission broke, they drove out and towed our jeep and gave my wife and me a ride back to their shop, and they got us out in the same afternoon. Unfortunately the repair lasted little more than a couple hours. Second time I took the vehicle out of park the bushing broke again and it is now stuck in reverse rather than park with just the parking brake to hold it in place. So down over $750 and have to start the repair over. at least the initial repair got us back to our home city.
I've been dealing with Don for 10+ years. I'm a pretty good "shade tree" mechanic, but when I need a real mechanic I go to 36 Auto.
They have always done great work and been very fair with me. Tish is great in the office and Charles is a top notch and hard working mechanic. Great people. Good work. That's a hard act to follow.
I used to think this was a 5 star location as I have taken my vehicles here for years, but I am now rating it 1 star.
They had my truck for over a month to repair the ac/heat,defrost. First time they said it was fixed I pick it up late afternoon and it did work, sort of. The next morning, no ac. Took it back and they said the part they put in was defective so they had it a couple more weeks. Went to pick it up after they said it was all repaired, including this time I had them go ahead and replace ac/heat parts behind the dash. After picking it up I didn’t even leave their parking lot and the ac still didn’t work. The. They tell me the ac/heater control module was bad. After picking it up from them saying it was now fixed, as I turned my truck on the abs light was on, then the electronic throttle system light, and the speedometer doesn’t work.
After 5 weeks and thousands of dollars, I can say that I have zero faith and trust in this place anymore. While they are friendly, if it takes more than a month and multiple repeat visits and thousands of dollars to fix an ac (and the defrost portion is still inoperable when the whole point was to repair ac/heat/AND defrost) and they cause more issues with the vehicle than when you brought it in to begin with and they try to say they didn’t cause the issues.
I had to take it to another shop where upon their examination they found that when 36 Auto did the ac work that the wiring behind the dash was simply butt connected and some wires were broken and shoring out causing more issues; presumably caused when they put the dash back on. So, now after paying 36 Auto $2600 to fix my truck, only to make it worse and not fix the issue, I am having to pay thousands more again to have someone else do it right.
I will never take my vehicles here again, not even for a tire rotation.
Had my timing belt and water pump replaced by them spending around $900 and now the timing is off on the car and doesn’t run tight so I take my car back the next day and they tell me it’s because the car is old and has some mileage on it. The car ran perfectly fine before I took it to them I was just doing preventative maintenance on it so It didn’t get messed up and and now I’m out a bunch of money and a broken car. They also stripped the water pump bolts on my water pump and probably didn’t fix that properly either. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone unless you want to get your car back in worse condition than you dropped it off. I wish they would have just done the job properly or fixed their mistake instead of just blowing me off like they did
Self made business man Don Perez has state of the art equipment and tools along with dedicated and knowledgeable mechanics that can get the job done. The overall experience is that they treat your vehicle as if its their own because it reflects on the shop and Mr.Perez. The shop is well maintained and organized and I would recommend this place to anyone that asked.
They do great work in a timely fashion. Always concerned about your car and great on Diesel engines been using them for several years highly recommend them
Very good work, fair and honest. Brought in an old Chevy work truck that had some big issues. They got it up and running great at a very reasonable price! They were recommended to me and now they are my mechanic of choice.

Great service. We came from San Antonio for a wedding. We needed a state inspection. All the Rosenberg spots were 2+ hour wait. Happened upon this place. Helpful, quick and courteous to us. Would use this service again if we lived in the area.

I brought my truck to Don about two weeks ago after the carrier bearing and driveshaft U joints were nearly gone. Even though he looked completely busy they got me in as soon as I called and fixed not only my main issue but also several others. They were professional and very good at communicating to me what needed to be fixed or replaced. I would recommend this shop to anyone and will definitely take my vehicle there again in the future.

I would post no stars but that isn't an option. He worked on our truck knowing that we not only had a flood claim but had extended warranty. He decided to do the work without either adjusters which cost us $250 out of pocket. He didn't take any pictures or anything and will not give us a letter for the flood claim. He is avoiding our phone calls also. I will never recommend taking your vehicle over there because he does what he wants to do knowing it's not right.
Don is the man with the plan. He's not just some mechanic looking to get peoples money. He understands that we are all working people and he makes sure stuff gets done. Been going to 36 auto for over 5 years now and not once has he said "we can't do it." With reasonable prices and speedy top of the line work, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
This shop is the best ! I wouldn't go any where else ,from day one I was taken care of and no matter what it is I need 36 auto gets the job done .. Don is one heck of a master tech! He has worked on all my vehicals including my 86 mustang. Haven't found something he can't do.
