Customer service is extremely poor at this company. I loved this business but when a customer is disappointed in their order and asks for a refund you just need to tell them your refund policy or deny a refund instead of sending long paragraphs about business practices. This business sells antiques and salvage so to see it selling mass produced items from Temu, hobby lobby, wayfair and other retailers at a higher price is very disappointing. One item is a branch wall hook they’re selling for $15 that’s literally $5.99 at Hobby Lobby. They’re selling hinge toppers from Temu for $6.50 to $13 a piece, which is what I wanted a refund on once we found out where they came from. They also made a post about our situation on Instagram with dismissive language and used it as an opportunity to include a discount code “LIARS” for their shop which I find extremely unprofessional. We agreed we’d speak over the phone on Tuesday when they were open and yet they made the post on Monday, during their closed hours. I’ve been shopping here for years and have gone to all of their art markets. I love to support small business but I cannot condone this behavior. Take your business elsewhere as they do not treat customers with respect here.
This is a goldmine of architectural pieces. So many doors and windows. Beyond the doors and things like that, it's not organized -or tidy, but what a great place to discover things
I have yet to take something home from Orr Reed but that’s mostly because open hours are incompatible with my work schedule.
Great people and cool selection.
We were in need of antique casement window cranks, and Orr Reed was the only place we could find that could come up with a solution. Hannah and her mother helped us, and did an exceptional job! They have an extensive inventory of antique and vintage cabinet/window/door hardware, light fixtures, etc. and it is very well organized. They were able to put together a custom solution for us at a reasonable price. If you're looking for interesting vintage or antique hardware, Orr Reed is the place to go in DFW!
Fabulous shop! Always find cool antique treasures. Their Artisan markets in the spring and fall are always super fun and filled with amazing makers. Hannah and the staff are always super helpful in helping me find what I need. Love the reorganizing they have done, the store looks amazing!!!
I ordered a great lamp online and said I would pick up. We had a death in the family and I called asking for a small hold extension, it was no problem. When I got there my stuff was ready to go and I had so much fun looking through all the salvaged treasures! I went home with a vintage Christmas box, a China creamer, and some art glass. I previously purchased a mid-century candy bowl. If my house had room I would have gone home with furniture. Good thing I live 2 1/2 hours away I guess.
This place is amazing. It's organized and th workers are funny and friendly. This place is my go to for antique hardware like knobs, pulls, and light fixtures. Plus they have so much more. I love that its family owned and they staff friendly folks. They also host the BEST Xmas market every year.
Great place. Staff is super friendly and always helpful. Fairly priced and we loved this place before we discovered there's a whole second building after going here for a over full year without realizing . We always bring our kid here and they're always so kind and caring towards her.
My mom bought some beautiful stepping stones from this place. It was really neat looking around at all the stuff they have salvaged. The ladies working there were nice and my mom was very happy with her stones. They look nice in her front yard.
OMG! This place is an absolute treasure, literally! If you are looking for something a little bit different for your home and have the time to invest in the hunt (plan no less than an hour), you will find more than you bargained for. Be sure to ask for the “first timers rundown”, that alone is worth the trip.
Found this place while we were looking for an old pantry door. They have lots of reclaimed salvage. If you are looking for old reclaimed doors etc, give this place a look. Plan on spending some time as there's a lot to go through.
I’m blown away by the customer service I received from Orr Reed! I ordered some items online, then called the next day to see if they had anything similar in-store they would ship to me as well (I wasn’t even sure this was something that could be done, and wasn’t getting my hopes up). I had a great phone conversation, texted back and forth with her all morning, then all my items were shipped and arrived so quickly! They were packaged with great care, and it’s obvious the family at Orr Reed is passionate about what they do and about serving their customers. I love a well-run family business! I will certainly be returning!
Love it! The people who own it and work there are nice and immediately asked if I needed help. This place is HUGE, and anyone who thinks it is small hasn't stepped outside the building. On my second trip I went outside to see exactly how large this place is and to spend time looking at as much of their inventory as I could. If you take your time, you will see things that will inspire you and also things you want in your home. I don't mind the mask requirement at all! I will go again.
Our family of 4 borrowed a truck and drove an hour to get here. A sign on the door said something handwritten (badly) about wearing a mask and said “employee” underneath. We walked in and a woman yelled at us so rudely about leaving if we didn’t put on a mask, “my door says it,” that my kids didn’t want to go back in once we went out and got masks. We were not being offensive; we haven’t been anywhere that required one in months and were just surprised. Not a single person offered to help us search through the Ross of doors/trim/mostly junk. We left disappointed and found several other places to get what we needed without the blatant rudeness. Most of what we were looking for was in really bad shape.
Love this place!!! I have some beautiful pieces that I know I wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. Highly reccomend adding the store on facebook, they do a fantastic job of uploading all the treasures they salvage!
Love this place! If you are looking for a unique piece this is the place. Very friendly, helpful staff, they leave you alone to browse, trust me there is a lot to look at, but if you have a question or need to have a piece pulled out for you to get a better look at, they are only too willing to help you. Nothing seems too much trouble.
Thinking about seeing if they will let me build a lil shed out back n move in...just for a couple years...that's how much i love that place. They give me great deals....and cookies...TWO days in a row.
This was a fun place to visit. I was surprised that the young guy helping me knew so much. I learned a lot today. When a kid can teach an old man, it gives me hope for the country. Also they have a great selection of wood and stuff... Lots of stuff.
I've been going here for years and may not ever go again. Useful selection and reasonable prices are gone. A door that was $25 two years ago starts at $175 today. Most of the doors are junk as far as building material. May be more useful as art projects .It really saddens me to see this happen. Its the end of an era .
Hannah and her crew and the best bunch of people! Super nice, very helpful and reasonable prices. It was great fun looking for and finding the treasure I wanted for my home improvement project.
Such an interesting place. Great source for old doors, Windows, tubs, and maybe most of all, reclaimed wood and wood flooring. I recommend bringing your own tools if you need to chop lumber.
