I do not typically leave reviews, but I wanted to take time out to celebrate the staff going above and beyond. My daughter had training scheduled all week and her vehicle broke down the night before. We had it towed to the shop Sunday night and they diagnosed the issue on Monday. Repairs were not set to be completed until Thursday, but they checked around and was able to obtain a water pump from a vendor. It was the last one left. They worked diligently that afternoon and the vehicle was ready before 8am the next day. It seems routine, but that kind of service does not go unnoticed when your daughter has just started a new job and can't afford to miss training.

Went here for an oil change, and boy definetly was impressed by the professionalism, they took videos of the car, pictures, even did a courtesy check on the lights on the dash, a battery test was done, a test on brakes to show how much mm's you have left, and to show any other minor or major problems your vehicle may have, nice clean work spaces and the inside was homey and calm, the best part of my experience was being able to read a bible they have lying out, and to hear 107.1 radio Christian music definetly was at peace and could feel the warmth of the Spirit being there, definetly will come back when my next oil change needs to be done!!! Thank you for the service and politeness and honesty about my vehicle!!!

Truck wouldn’t start, and so I contacted CBA about taking a look at it. Spoke with Cole on the phone who asked questions, and was upfront about pricing. Called me next day to let me know it was the Fuel Pump control module. Told me the price, and had it finished a few days later. Very good service, and appreciate Cole being upfront about what needs and pricing.

The curtesy inspection was a transparent and straightforward inspection. They provided an electronic report full of real videos and explanations of the current state of my vehicle. CBA will be my go to whenever things go wrong!

They sent me a detailed report with pictures, gave me updates, and got the warranty claim started for me. I've never had to have a transmission replaced before, but this was just as painless as it could be.

I came in for an oil change. Melinda helped me through the process. She was very friendly, she helped me with all of my needs. I was in and out within an hour. The tech conducted a thorough inspection of my car. I really appreciate the attention to detail.

Always the best. Esply for my recent 2002 F250 oil change. Took my keys with me by accident. They tried to call me. Then went to the cafe to track me down and get the keys. Thks for being kind to this old man. Great effort that exemplifies the marvelous car care you will also get from CB College Station. Thks Grady Pennell

I had taken my car to the Nissan dealership the day before four different services and they tested everything and came back good. However when I went to Christian Brothers the next day for oil change they tested my battery supposedly and told me it was dead or I needed a new one that would cost $600 how is that possible when I had the documentation from the previous day my battery was fine? Leads me to believe I was getting worked over. I've had no symptoms are problems with my battery yet.. and have since taken it to other places like O'Reilly to have it checked and they tell me it's fine. So my advice would be get multiple opinions before jumping into a big purchase!

The people are very nice and good at their jobs. They had the shuttle take me home and pick me up when the work was done. Very impressive. Would recomend for shure.

Update: Shop gave me a call to explain the distinction between the "recommended actions" versus urgent fixes, which I appreciate, but I would still maintain that recommending new filters, belts, etc based on mileage instead of eyes-on confirmation of an issue is going to leave a bad taste in a lot of folks' mouths. I would strongly suggest changing that approach, as the folks it applies to aren't likely to spend as much over their lifetime as people who are checking basic car maintenance. Moving things to a kinder number as I don't want folks to lose out on work over what is probably a bad corporate policy. Old review: If you know exactly what you want done the people are perfectly cordial, but they also recommended a new cabin air filter to my wife like two weeks after I swapped it out, so either College Station has 3rd world air quality or the recommendations are suspect.

None too happy. I brought car in. Charged 3000 to repair oil leak. Picked it up and the car was lurching at stop signs. Brought it back in. They said your ac needs a charge it has a leak. Ok it was fine before but I figured it probably did. Paid 700 for that. Came in to pick it up again. Fixed lurching issue but blowing hot air. Left with them again. Now they say I needed ac core for 4000. They could do the heater while they weee in there for 5000. Car is only worth 11000. If I had known this originally I never would have paid 3000 for oil leak. Just not a happy experience. Picked up car unfixed. Now deciding what to do

In keeping my car all day for repairs they provided me with shuttle service. Everyone was very considerate and kind. My car repairs were done and with warranties. A very good experience. I am older and I consider this one of my best experiences with my car. I highly recommend Christian Brothers Automotive!

Cole was very helpful in getting my car into the shop and getting it visually inspected before I hit the road for a long trip! Amazing service, they even recommended me to a nice collision center to get my work done when I had time!

I had several issues going on with my pickup which needed to be addressed. This was my first time using Christian Brothers College Station. They got my vehicle in promptly, identified all the issues, provided me with itemized price quotes for each repair, and discussed each item. They performed the repairs, and I had my truck back sooner than expected. They were courteous, thorough, and communicated well.

Pros of this place: -LOVE the shuttle service. The driver is super nice and has made it fantastic. - Love the convenient evening drop off and ability to text about the car. Works great for me. Now for the bad: -For how much you pay I feel like attention to detail isn’t there. One minor example is they lost/didn’t put back my engine cover clips. Very minor, cheap and easy for me to fix…but annoying. And then there was the incident that is the reason I won’t be back: I took my 2016 Honda Odyssey (120,000 miles) for an oil change. This was the 4th or 5th in a row with them because of how convenient it was for me (see pros!) and I didn’t think much of it. I got their inspection report that said my pan was leaking a little and they recommended a replacement. I declined, planning to take it to my Houston mechanic to have another issue resolved under warranty and would just have them do the pan while it was there. I asked if they had already completed the oil change - replacing the pan means dropping all the oil out and needing to essentially do another oil change - so if they hadn’t already done it I didn’t want to waste the money at that point. The receptionist said she needed to ask the tech and I would get a call back. Not long after the tech calls and says they can’t safely get the oil bolt to hold because the pan threads had stripped and their recommendation was to either replace it there (almost $900) or tow it to another shop. Talk about a gut punch when you go in for a $50 oil change and that’s the answer to get your car out, no? So I do a little research of my own (and encourage others to look at this as well, I’m trying to keep my bias to a minimum) but the threads stripping is often (not always) caused by the mechanic. There is also the ability to do a repair which in theory should be cheaper than replacing the part. Armed with that knowledge I call them back and ask me to walk through what happened. From my view, the car wasn’t leaking any oil before I took it in…but suddenly couldn’t hold oil safely. Got the same basic answer that it was caused by fatigue and it just happens. Then I asked about doing a repair instead (here is the real reason the car will never go back) and was told that wasn’t a possibility, such a repair doesn’t exist for oil pans. At that point I told them to leave the car, do not touch it again, and I’d schedule a tow. Either they straight up lied, or the person was incompetent and didn’t know when to ask someone else. That’s absolutely unacceptable to me. So next day I go in to get the keys and brought my dad along - for reference I’m a woman, and while I sincerely hope that doesn’t make a difference I felt like my father held more pull than I did. The tech we talked to on that day again said it was likely fatigue, and said their shops sees this decently often. Take that answer as you will. BUT this tech said the repair was an option, and ended up pricing reasonably enough that it was cheaper to have them do the repair than it was to try to tow it anywhere else. His ability to at least try to work with me (plus the pros I stated) is the reason I can’t give less stars. I did appreciate that aspect. The whole ordeal took from Wednesday evening (I dropped off assuming Thursday pickup) to Monday evening. I get things happen, and cars are expensive to upkeep, but I can no longer trust them to give me honest options when they recommend repairs.

Great service, great people like Melinda. Jeep was running rough, they diagnosed it, repaired it, and was reasonable cost. They can be trusted to do professional job.

I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile from Melinda. I explained to her that I was coming in for an Oil Change appointment for my Company Fleet Truck. She took my keys and got the guys in the shop to start working on it right away. She then offered me a cold beverage and told me to take a seat in the office/waiting area. Christian Brothers have extremely comfortable seats for you to relax in while waiting. Before I knew it, the job was done, very fast service; they even performed a complimentary filter check for me! Melinda also helped check me out, I was very appreciative of her kindness and attention to detail. Excellent work from all parties involved. Thank ya’ll!

I thought it bold of CB to request a review from us after our experience, but since they asked, here it is. We have used CB a couple of times and the service has been fine (the silly flower notwithstanding), albeit more expensive than other places. In the past year we have had two bad experiences with them. The first happened when they replaced a battery in my car and it died less than a year later. We were told by the dealership that it died so quickly because it was the wrong battery for the car. The second happened when my husband brought his truck in for routine maintenance. It was working perfectly when he dropped it off. They replaced a few parts and turned it back over to him rattling. Less than a mile down the road the engine failed and now we are looking at having to buy a new car. They claim it was just bad timing and they have zero responsibility (despite having just inspected the car and giving it a clean bill of health). Maybe it was a coincidence, but we won’t be trusting them with our cars again.

I recently took my car to Christian Brothers Automotive for a check-up. They provided a ride back to my house, and the woman who drove me was kind and down-to-earth—she wouldn’t even accept a tip, which made a great first impression. CB provided a detailed list of recommended repairs. Initially, I felt cautious. The business seemed almost too clean and professional, and I tested them to see if they were trying to upsell unnecessary work. Despite mixed reviews from third-party sites, their conduct seemed professional and honest. The quote they gave me was consistent with what my family of mechanics estimated. However, I chose not to proceed with the repair because my Corolla is at 200,000 miles, and it wouldn’t increase the car’s value. While they didn’t point that out, which felt a little off to me, I eventually realized they operate like any business—they aren't a charity. This highlights one of the key issues with Christian Brothers Automotive: the name and branding imply faith-based values like honesty and altruism. It’s easy to expect a more charitable or service-oriented approach, but in reality, they function like any other profit-driven auto shop. Their clean, polished business model sometimes feels like an attempt to justify premium pricing, even if the costs are on par with competitors. Moreover, while they do provide thorough repair lists, they could benefit from prioritizing critical repairs or giving practical advice instead of listing everything. For customers who rely heavily on trust, this can feel overwhelming or like upselling. The franchise model is also something to consider—while some locations may reflect Christian values and professionalism, others could fall short, affecting the brand's overall reputation. In the end, my experience was positive because they treated me fairly and offered competitive pricing, but I see where some of the criticisms come from. If you’re considering their services, it’s essential to view them as a well-run business—not a ministry or charity.

It's hard running an automotive repair facility. I did it for over 15 years. Something very important with this difficult task is good communication. I called several days in advance to set an appointment for a basic maintenance service. I was told I could wait for the service and that it would take up to three hours to perform. (Way under promised, probably a good thing in case any problems arise. Gives them an opportunity to over deliver.) I was also told they open at 7 am. What expectations would you have after a similar conversation on the phone? Upon arriving at 6:55 am, I was told that technicians don't get there until 8 and I would have to drop off my car and leave it with them all day and maybe they would work it in because they didn't have any open bays. Don't get me wrong; I understand the trials and tribulations of running an automotive repair facility. But don't tell people on the phone that they can wait for a service, and you do not have the capacity to fulfill the service. It is also very deceptive when you tell people that you open at 7:00, but it is for administrative purposes only. If you don't have technicians in production until an hour later and you're scheduling a waiting appointment, you need to set proper expectations. In this day and age, in a world filled with deception and misinformation, we all know the kind of reputation repair facilities, mechanics, used car salesman, and politicians have. It's hard to find somebody you can trust. I will keep looking.

I took my car here to get a diagnosis of a single problem. They did a great job, and not only diagnosed my problem from the issue I was having, but inspected many points throughout my vehicle. Then supplied me downloads of video, images, and animated mock ups of those other issues I may have to address if I chose to. These items they sent to me via email and text. The staff was very courteous and attentive throughout my experience. I would not hesitate to use them again.
