I purchased a vehicle from Copart on January 22 that was listed as AUTOMATIC, but when I received it, the car was actually MANUAL.
This is a serious misrepresentation. I opened a ticket immediately and have called multiple times. Today is February 9, and I still have no response or resolution — only repeated promises that someone will contact me within 24 hours.
Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.

Ended up getting in a wreck car was totaled and went to go pick up personal belongings and couldn’t find my backpack, which was about $300-400 dollars worth in that bag, be carful with these tow people here don’t trust them or this company.

They tow vehicles without the owners permission or insurance knowledge, from other lots while it was waiting to be totaled but had not yet been and while the owner still owns the vehicle and is currently making the payments for it, they go through that said personal vehicle and collect personal items out of it again without the owners or insurance’s knowledge or permission. They are so lucky I didn’t get the police involved and the lady wanted to act like she didn’t know anything, again so lucky I did not get the police involved. This place is sketchy and weird!

I don't know why getting cars here is so slow. No other auction has this insane levels of wait time, not to mention you gotta schedule pick ups, and they also don't matter, even if you come by on time or 2h earlier, you are still gonna wair about 3h of your work day. And you'd guess this olace would be packed with cars coming in and out, but you can count on 2 hands the amount of cars that would come out in a period of 3h. I have no idea why their system is this bad and borderline disrespectful to car haulers, but maybe they should call IAA and ask how they do it, as their servicr is almost instant.

Copart has to be one of the worst businesses I have ever worked with. From the dispatcher Christy to the General Manager Gina Campos. When I bid on a vehicle it had ~90,000 miles on the post. When I received the vehicle it had close to 300,000 miles. For two weeks I was given the run around. I was told by Gina Campos that we were waiting on accounting to approve the process the they would issue a check to me. Then the very next day Gina says a complete lie that she told be there would be a “sale reversal” instead of a buy back. A huge difference because for the last two weeks I was being told I would receive my money back in the form of a check. Now instead I will only be getting a credit with no way of getting cash. I will definitely be reaching out to the State Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division because this is ridiculous.

I had an appointment at 12:30 it is about to be 3 pm and I'm still waiting to get loaded with about more than 8 people ahead of me. They need to get it together because if I would of been late to my appointment they wouldn't of loaded me anymore. They need to get on top of their game and stop making people wait so long. There is a reason why people make appointments.

Worst copart in country and ive been to many, they have at least 5 forklifts but only one is used to load cars over 12 trucks waiting to be loaded, at least a 2 hour wait after appointment. This is the second time they have taken over 2 hours to load 1 car.

Was involved in an accident that left me without a car for days. After getting a rental I Went to get my personal belongings out of my totaled car and wound up missing 15-20$ in change.

If I can leave 0 stars I would. This place picked up my son’s car for an estimate and returned the car without his license plate, registration sticker. They dropped off my son’s car with a dead battery and radio and electronics not working. To make it worse I reached out Gina the general manager, who never called and only replied with an email saying she will call end of day. Never received a call or email with them trying to resolve the situation. Had to report this license plate as stolen. Police report was made and even after sending numerous emails to all managers at the site, we never receive a call. This place is horrible with communication and doesn’t care to fix an issue that they created. Will be seeking legal action since all my emails and calls are leading to nothing! Not even a simply call from Gina saying she is trying to resolve this!!!!

Copart manager, Brandon was awesome. I had 2 pick ups one day and 1 pick up the following day late in the day, because they had no available appointments. He allowed me to pick up all 3 cars at the same time. Thank you very much Brandon

This location does not follow the listed policy for viewing a car on the Copart website. They do not respect your time and will make up excuses to keep you from getting into the lot. DO NOT GO HERE if you are looking to buy a car.

The lack of customer service provided to patiently waiting customers is unacceptable. I waited nearly 90 minutes without acknowledgment or even eye contact. When I inquired about my vehicle's availability, the receptionist, who appeared to be deliberately avoiding me, was surprised and stated that the vehicle was, in fact, ready for viewing. Clearly, there was a failure of communication/organization. No apology was offered.
Improved customer service procedures are necessary, including regularly checking on waiting customers and fostering a proactive, welcoming environment, rather than one where customers are treated as an inconvenience. My experience here contrasts sharply with the other Coparts I've been to.Jun 03, 2025 -
If you expect to have anything done in a timely manner, this is definitely not who you want to work with. It’s sad that USAA pairs with such a trash business. Been without a vehicle for a week now due to an accident and they have absolutely no sense of urgency to help you out.

I have been buying from Copart for over two years. I will NEVER buy from San Antonio copart again. It took almost 2 weeks to get a car I purchased and hired copart delivery tow to have the person lock the keys in the car. Gina the manager has yet to communicate over a week later. So stuck with a locked car. I should not have to pay to have someone unlock it or waste my time.

Because of this place. They screwed up and I have to wait an additional 2 weeks to collect my money from a car accident. The only reason I’m giving them a 1 star is because there’s no negative number I can give them. Allstate insurance company is at fault also. Stay away from them. These people are trash. Allstate insurance and Copart stole out and never paid us for it. They sold the car. There all crash. Every single one of them. I’m pretty much over it know. But they came for our car that was totaled and we never got paid for it. They sold our car. Gone. No money received. Junk company.

Inefficient at it's finest. Was there for two hours. The only person working the front desk took care of only 2 people while I was there, would tell the rest of the customers to scam for an appointment. More concerned in chewing her gum and gossiping with the staff in the back rather than helping customers out. She would tell customers she didn't understand Spanish but then forgot and got in a full blown conversation with someone over the phone.

To sum things up, your stuff will be stolen here. I got in an accident on July 25th. I was in shock and in a rush to get my things out of the car since it happened on I-35. One of the things I forgot to remove from my car was a Uniden R3 Extreme Long Range Radar Detector that I paid exactly $290 for. It was mounted on the windshield. I was told that my car would be taken to Copart and that I can retrieve anything else from it there.
I didn't have transportation for a while so I didn't immediately go to pick up my stuff from the car. However, the Geico insurance adjuster had to go inspect my car at Copart and in his report he stated that there was a radar detector in the vehicle. When I finally went to Copart on July 28th, the radar detector was no longer in the vehicle which means that either 1. an employee stole the radar detector or 2. a client was on the lot and opened the car and stole it. Either way, Copart is responsible because they have cameras.
I emailed the GM, Gina Campos, weeks ago about this issue and I never got a response from her. Gina, what is taking so long? The insurance adjustor put in his report that the radar detector was in the car on your lot. So where did it go???
This company should not have a partnership with Geico. Read the other reviews, others have also had their belongings "disappear" from this company's lot.Sep 07, 2024 -
Unfortunate experience here with reclaiming the items in my totaled vehicle and communication with this company. Their hours make it extremely difficult to drive an hour after work to grab my belongings, but I guess I can't blame them for that. However, it took them about 2 months to ship back the items in my totaled vehicle and several valuables were "missing" once I received. $300 longboard, $200 sleeping bag, tire repair / compressor kit, other smaller items. No communication from them as well on whether or not the items were simply too large or what. Most everything else was returned, but I can only assume the valuables were stolen by this company. Otherwise, I guess the title transfer went smoothly so one star for that.

I received outstanding service from this location when retrieving my belongings from a wrecked vehicle. I followed the instructions posted outside the building and I had my lot number ready. I worked with two receptionists and they were both pleasant to work with. My car was brought up within a few minutes and two other workers noticed I needed help getting into my Tesla, so they brought over a battery to open the doors. Everyone was so nice and made it an easy process.

Be aware not to deal with this guy's, had froud 4 months ago $500 charged my account, i called central office was told to call this specific location to speak to manager of this location Gina Compos, called 7times now trying to speak to someone who can look into it, all I'm getting back is "we will call you back".

Unfortunately after my wife’s car was involved in a vehicle accident our car insurance company insisted we have it towed to this location to undergo an inspection. We received news that our cars inspection was completed on a Tuesday but unnecessarily sat at the lot for an additional four days before CoPart bothered to dispatch a tow truck to transfer to the shop. The ladies who work reception seem friendly and nice enough, however they do not work with any sense of urgency and I’m convinced they straight up lie when they tell you things are “being handled.” For four days, I called two times each days to inquire about why our car was still sitting at the lot when it had been cleared for transport. Each time they responded with “It has been dispatched and will arrive today.” Well. That’s actually not entirely true. After one call, Christy was prompt to inform me that even if the car is ready to leave the lot, they’re “allowed to hold for an additional 10 days.” Makes no sense other than for greed why this company would hold cars on their lot much longer than neccessary when your vehicle is ready to be released to begin repairs. Luckily our insurance company provided us with a rental but not everyone is so fortunate. Some people are paying out of pocket costs while this company takes their time holding onto your vehicle. Some people can’t afford a loaner vehicle at all. Point of this review is to say, CoPart does not care about providing satisfactory and timely service to their patrons. I sincerely wish we never have to encounter them again.
