Let me start by saying that all these other reviews are flat out wrong. Everyone hates their car getting towed. I know I did, but getting frustrated with the company doing the job given to them by the apartment complex doesnt make sense. The man we met and dealt with was one of the most humble, helpful, and patient men I have ever met. Having dealt with towing companies in the past, I wish most companies were more like them. My GF car was almost flat (it leaks air in the heat), and the guy noticed, asked if he could fill it for us, and got down in the dirt to do it without a second thought. Cons: Difficult to access Dangerous to park (if the gate is closed) Little difficult to get ahold of Pros: Cheaper than competitors Quick and effective service Kind and humble employees Answered the phone after a few attempts, BUT communicated extremely well Well kept yard free of tire popping debris Good drivers (zero damage to our vehicles and we were in tight spots when we got towed) If they weren't a towing company, I would be requesting their services often. These guys deserve way more credit than they get. So next time someone goes to leave a review, think about whether or not you're leaving it because you're upset or because of a valid complaint. After actually going there and dealing with them, 90% of these reviews are unwarranted and filled with people complaining about nonsense that is their own fault.

Horrible experience within the last 24 hours — completely unacceptable business practices. This company is by far one of the worst I’ve ever had to deal with. Within the last 24 hours, my family and I experienced what can only be described as predatory, unprofessional, and unethical behavior. To start, there is no safe or accessible parking anywhere near the business. You’re forced to park on the main road, turn on your hazards, and walk through rocks and gates to reach a tiny 1x2 ft window located far above eye level — completely not ADA compliant and absolutely not handicap-friendly. My 18 year-old son had his car towed at 5 a.m. from an apartment complex — his first harsh lesson in how these towing companies operate. When he called to find out how to retrieve his car, he was told payment could only be made in cash or a card in his name, and that he must call one hour in advance before coming to pick it up. When we arrived as a family to assist, we knocked several times with no response. We even called the number listed on the gate and were told to “keep knocking.” Eventually, someone came out, asked for my son’s license and title, and was told the license was in his wallet — which was locked inside the impounded car. Despite this, they refused to allow him to retrieve it. My husband offered to pay with our card, which they accepted immediately — contradicting their earlier statement about only accepting payment in my son’s name. The employee took his time, never verified ID, and still did not allow my son to access his wallet. We finally got the car and receipt and thought the ordeal was over — but it wasn’t. When my son went to get gas shortly after, he realized $20 was missing from his wallet. On top of that, after reviewing the receipt, we discovered they charged for towing and one full day of storage even though the car was only there for six hours (impounded at 5 a.m., released at 11 a.m.). This is nothing short of double theft — money missing from his wallet and unjustified fees on the invoice. It’s no coincidence that when you search this company, the BBB listing appears immediately. Their response history shows zero accountability — they respond defensively and never take ownership for their actions. The company lists a TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) number for complaints, which feels like a dead end rather than a legitimate path to resolution. I will be reporting this business to every proper channel — including BBB, TDLR, and local consumer protection agencies — for unethical, noncompliant, and predatory practices. What happened to my family in the last 24 hours should never happen to anyone else.

Dude is very rude, doesn’t answer the phone and had an attitude with me. He illegally towed a car with a valid pass and is blaming us. He better hope all his liscense and paperwork is up to date cuz I already filed a complaint against the buisness

They have an app to register a car when visiting, which ii doesn't work all the time. I had a friend who visited me and I couldn't register his car and they towed it. Very unprofessional and unfair. How it is possible that comoanies like this still operate when there are so many complains.

I got my car towed in my friends apartment complex, saw them hook the car up so I ran down and they said they would drop it for a drop fee. I told them I would pay it but needed to go up to grab my phone and the dude said ok and that he’d wait for me to come back down, but before I even made it up the stairs, he took off with my car.

This company needs to be shut down and sued. They towed a friend's car today on a public street with no signage and when we reviewed the paperwork it says it was Authorized by Elizabeth Hair 6625 South Flores Street. They also claim that was the pick location. This was false information and we were parked 109 Crane down the street across the road. They were also actively painting the curb to try and tow other cars on the public street. They are currently being reported to 311 by serval others who witnessed these crooks. Also reporting Elizabeth hair Co who seem to also be in on this scam. I understand towing is legit and needed at times but this is wrong and we have photos that are being shared with 311.

Very unprofessional, rude and lazy service. Besides the fact that I had made them aware we were in a hurry with our relative in ICU, person locked inside trailer took forever to attend us purposely since we kept calling for assistance on how to get there because road was closed.

My car was gone. After dealings with the police, I learned that my car had been towed. The hotel manager showed me video surveillance of Big State "Wreckers" towing it away. He said that he dose not even do biussiness with these people!! They had no permission to be on his property or removing vehicles. This tow company claims that I was parked on the street. In the hotels security camera, you can see the tow truck driver leave with my vehicle, and immediately drop it in a no-parking Zone across the street. The driver then gets out of his vehicle, and takes several photos of my car that he is now placed in a No Parking zone. He hooks back onto my car, 5 minutes later he is gone. I tried to get the police to come look at this comma but they are busy and do not take these matters very seriously. So I went to go get my car. Towing with the overnight storage fee came out to $757.92!!! I asked why, and they said because it was parked illegally and they can charge whatever they would like. A member of the congregation stepped up to Pay my bill as I did not have the funds. As I get to my vehicle, we noticed that the steering wheel is missing! The towing company said that they "had to remove it" to safely tow the vehicle. Absolutely absurd! Better yet, the only person allowed to come in their yard is the mechanic across the street. He was actually a nice guy, and said that this happens all the time. Talk about a racket! $187.53 for that.

I’d give zero stars if I could the property I work at hired this company and they have terrible communication skills. They have a terrible staff upfront. Everybody is lazy. We definitely had to go with another towing company. Feel free to ask me if you need a different towing company.

The person on the phone will leave out info required to get your vehicle back so that your car will have to stay there longer. So make sure the vehicle is in your name, as well as insurance and you also need to apparently give them an hour notice so that someone can be on site to give you your vehicle back. Terrible company, very ghetto. Wish I could give zero stars.

Had my apartment sticker and handicap placard in front of my sun shade on and they towed me for supposedly not having it on. I had family in the car and they saw me place the placard on the rear view mirror before put my sunshade up. When I went to pick up the car you could tell someone had moved the sunshade in a way that it didn’t just fall on its own. The placard was clearly removed to make it look like I didn’t have it on in the first place. They wouldn’t give me my car until I paid. Extortion at its best. The woman who answers the calls leaves out important information you need when you get to the rat hole of a business once you can find it, It’s located right in the middle of the ghetto just like this company.

This company needs to get out of business. They are very unprofessional. They told my mother’s vehicle at her apartment complex where she lives when she had a valid permit That was visible in her vehicle. They clearly don’t know how to have a conversation. When I was there they were straight, cursing at me they Don’t know how to speak to people very immature I will be reporting them to authorities

This place illegally stole me and another guys vehicle while staying at Brooks Town homes. Woke up at 4:00 am to go to work and my car was missing so called the police thinking someone stole it just for him to tell that this place picked it up. I called and asked the guy why did my car get picked up when i didn't park in a reserved spot and he told me i wasn't suppose to park there and i didn't live there. Confused asked him what he was talking about because i have lived there for 2 years now and i know where i can and can't park. The guy was trying to argue with me about the rules but i am the one that signed the lease and they gave me the lease agreement but it was a lady didn't like that i took her spot but she never paid to get it reserved so like the front office said it was first come first served. Doesn't matter she was shortly kicked out and so i bought her spot and never used it for doing this to me and 6 other people. She probably knows this guy and just part of the scam but the owner wanted me to pay $350 to pick up the car. I said no talked to the front office and told them i will just take it to court since i had video of them picking up my car at 1:30 in the morning they were even confused why he was stealing people's vehicles when they didn't have a contract with this place and they had they're own tow services they pay for. They ended up arguing back and forth in til the tow company told me to come pick it up at 7 pm. Went to pick it up lady in the window was nice but wasn't shocked on what happened so i guess this happens alot? Inspected my car there was a dent in my driver side door and whoever drug my car out the parking spot screwed up my tire rods in the back because they rigged it up wrong. I missed a days worth of work and almost got fired for this company to damage my car over some scammer trying to make a quick buck is scummy. Take it to court and fight these people is the best thing to do

So my review is about Vincent & Renee. I was parked in a space that I’d thought was ok for me to park in at an apartment complex. Heard some noises and realized my car was being loaded up , I quickly ran outside and showed Vincent my identification and conversed with him a bit about the mixup. He calmly explained to me why I wasn’t allowed to park there, and what documentation I needed to get so that I may park in said spot. Because of the documentation I did have, he spoke with Renee and they agreed to put my vehicle down . I was so happy & grateful that they were kind and compassionate. They had a job to do, and it was an honest mistake on my part. I believe that if more people treated folks as human beings and produced a calm conversation, things would go much smoother for everyone. I’m not sure why the reviews for this company are so low, but I will certainly be saving this company and calling them for any future towing necessities. Thanks again Renee & Vincent!!! I’ll never forget you guys

This towing company is honestly a POS. They towed my car after they stated (via email) that my car wouldn’t be towed. Well guess what, my car got towed. The guy on dispatch said “if the apartment complex can confirm you’re a resident than they should give you back your car” awesome right! wrong! the oompa looma female working the window said “that’s not our policies, someone did you a favor”. When it comes to giving back someone’s car, they want to follow policy, but didn’t follow policy from the get go when i sent them an email to not tow my car. Now let’s talk about when i picked up my car. Unfortunately, i now have to be late on my rent to retrieve my car, and when i went to go pick up my car i signed 3 forms of documentation, one of the forms says “i inspected my car before taking it off the lot” when i asked oompa loompa if i could see my car like the paper says, she said “i can’t let anyone back there without collecting a payment and receiving their signature”. My car was not scrapped before, it was now! whoever was driving the tow truck with my car attached must have hit every pot hole in the road brining it in. This towing company is horrible and i’ve raised my concerns to my apartment complex in hopes they find a new one because this one is breaking rules, and i don’t know how far i can take this matter but i will do research because this was unprofessional and such an inconvenience to someone who got towed WHILE BEING A RESIDENT! (edited after their response) maybe if all your associates were trained properly instead of being inbreds you would have an actual business running instead of an off brand towing company. One verbally agrees to not tow a car and another person insists on towing. Guess yall really need the money for gastric by pass

Not really sure it's valuable to send a review of a company that illegally towed my vehicle. But, here goes. Around 3:21 am on Tuesday 8/1/23 my vehicle was towed from my apartment complex. I went to the city website to find out what was going on and discovered that my vehicle was towed by this company. I called to find out why they towed my pickup. The reason given was that I was taking up 2 parking spaces. This would be fine if there were any lines for the parking spaces when I arrived home at 5:38 pm but there was not. You can tell from the pictures attached that there is one partial line that sits back further than the others. This is because they painted the line behind my pickup since it was already parked before the "space" was created. So, now we have established that the lines were painted on the garage deck sometime between 5:38 pm and 3:21 am the following morning. This was explained to the company at roughly 8:00 am. With that knowledge most companies would do just a little investigating on their own and speak to 1. The driver patrolling the lot. and 2. The complex requesting that the lot be patrolled. This was not the case. I still had to go in and pay $232.55 to recover my vehicle. I am pretty sure this will be returned after the tow hearing. When picking up my truck the rear driver side door had a ding in it that did not exist before vehicle was towed. Still not a very big deal as even though my truck is excellent condition it is 10 years old. They tried to get me to sign without seeing my vehicle first but I declined. I went to my vehicle, saw the ding on the door and noted it on the tow ticket. I then asked for a copy of all of the documents that I signed and/or initialed. The woman working at the time said that she would have to check with her boss and came back 10 - 15 min later and said that she was not able to give me copies of the documents. After I picked up truck I called the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation the same day. It was already after 4:00 pm so after 20 min or so I pressed one to have them call me back when it was my turn in line. I explained to the woman there what the issue was and she even though it was odd. She told me to file a complaint with TDLR and that as long as it was within 14 days I could go and request a tow hearing in my county. This is a lot of work for $232.55 because at the end of the day it does not make a huge difference in my life and if it was legitimate I would take it as a lesson and a reason not to do the same thing again but this one is not on me so I can't give my money away. ***UPATE 8/22/2023*** Had tow hearing with Bexar County Court and won. I am getting back money for tow plus $54 filing fee. I will not get back the 3.5% CC fee or for uber on the day of but they will get a small fine from Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. If they don’t pay by 10/21/23 they will get an additional fine. Just to note none of this was about the money it’s about wrong and right. Illegally towing a vehicle is wrong. For some paying this type of fee is life changing and for some it’s nothing so they won’t follow through. Hopefully in the future they choose to see the totality of the circumstances before they illegally tow any vehicle. Also, be sure to take pictures of any document that they have you sign because they will keep and only give you the tow receipt in order to maintain plausible deniability.

Horrible customer service. It was truly a God given miracle that Gianna 'left for lunch' after giving me the hardest time because she would have gotten slapped across the face. She alleges that they did not receive my 1st Email and were silent when I showed them the receipts. They clearly state that you will receive an Email back however they called a number that was not even listed for me had they just been smart enough to read my original Email. I will check her every time since her mother clearly didn't do that very good of a job

They dont operate within the law. Texas law requires.. If you return to your car and it is being hooked-up to a tow truck but IT IS NOT FULLY hooked up and ready for towing, you can keep your car WITHOUT paying a CHARGE. You do not need to prove ownership of the car in this instance. If you return to your car and IT IS FULLY HOOKED UP, READY FOR TOWING, BUT HAS NOT LEFT THE PARKING LOT, you may keep your car but YOU MUST PAY A DROP FEE. You do not need to prove ownership of the car in this instance either. The driver hooked my car up while i was in the drivers seat. He would not release it. He ignored me when i stated the law to him and said nope, he didnt have to. They need to be held accountable for all tows that they denied drops to.

The driver damaged my bumper and without hesitation, the management took responsibility. They fixed my bumper and made sure all accommodations were made to make sure I was not without. I really appreciate this company for doing the right thing. Thank you Big State Wreckers!!! The staff was great, Gianna and Rene( sorry if spelled wrong) thank you.

I got my car towed due to parking in a reserved space where I'm usually not parked. It sucks that the apartment complex didn't even call, it was a patrol, but it happened. When going to pick up the car the staff were very friendly however don't go during lunch, 12 to 1 because no one will be there. They let me inspect my car for any damages before I signed papers, I just had to ask. I did find some damages on the exhaust and my fender was torn out, but that was on the tower not the company itself. I brought these issues with to Ricardo the supervisor and he was very will to help and work something out. Just know you get respect when you give respect! Was able to work something out with him making the best of a bad situation!

My car was towed 2 days ago while making an Uber delivery I was parked on a fire lane for a few minutes. I was told if I would of been parked in a parking spot it would have never been towed. Never the less I pick up my vehicle and the pickup driver stole $30 from my car. I complained on him and last night I was in the process of making a delivery I park in a slot and they towed it again. Now they are saying I need a parking permit. I feel this company or driver I complained on is now targeting my vehicle.

They towed my car from my complex because my permit wasn’t visible. The word visible means able to be seen correct ? They showed me that the tow truck person could see my sticker but they couldn’t see it good enough in their eyes. If it’s really sunny and my car is very tinted yes it would be harder to see but it is still visible because they took a picture and showed it to me. The manager rudely yelled at me saying I could go back there and show them it’s there but when I came down there the manager wouldn’t answer her phone and the kid told me I had to pay or it stays there. This tow truck company is very unprofessional and are just scamming people out of money. I’ve already called the better business bureau to report them.

I’m not going to lie, when I first discovered early this morning that my car was towed in front of my friends apartment I was HEATED and couldn’t tell up from down, left from right. However I will say that the guy working this morning (maybe the owner) was extremely nice. I spoke with him on the phone, we were both very plain about what was said and what was needed for the car to be released. At first I thought the appointment thing was ridiculous but they set me up for about an hour after I sent the first email. This gave me plenty of time to get there and make sure I had all my ducks in a row, etc. i will admit that the tow was my fault-though on accident -I was parked in a no parking area. They took care of my car, nothing was wrong with it and nothing missing. Which led me to wonder if the folks that had reports of missing things had their cars unlocked or windows down which is not recommended even on the nicest sides of town? They showed me proof that the car was towed correctly and there was no price discrepancy between the quoted and actual point of sale price other than the processing fee. This was as painless as could be for such a blah surprise. Thanks y’all for being nice and thanks for complimenting my cars lil horns.

Sold a car last year, the buyer never titled it and is in jail, so I received a certified letter from them saying my vehicle was picked up by them. I decided to get it back and resell it. Well there's no key, so the wheel is locked. They informed me that no private trailer could be brought onto the property, but they could move it into the parking lot for $65. Then I called back to ask if I could remove ignition so I could get it started and they told me they don't allow any maintenance (jump start, flat tire, etc) on the property and that I could pay them $65 to pull it out to the parking lot. I mean I understand the people I talked go are just following the rules, but cmon. People are already struggling trying to get a car out of impound, why make it worse by trying to extort as much money as possible. I realize they are in the business to make money, but if they had a little compassion they might have more than a 2 star rating.

I understand no one appreciates getting their car towed but come on, really?? I had to wait almost 6 hours to finally get my car back from them. They were extremely slow and very rude the entire time. I even had to CALL THE COPS because they would not let me leave!! I called back about a month later asking for an emailed receipt to which they rudely told me they do not do that. Why?? They gave no reason. I never leave reviews but they were so awful to deal with that I just had to share.

My stars are for the employees who helped me I had my car towed due to the parking permit not being visible which was my fault. The first lady that I dealt with was a nightmare but then I was able to call back and talk to a gentleman named Ricardo who answered and he did everything he could to help me get my car back. I also talked to a lady named Susan who was very helpful. The business is not the best but Ricardo and Susan were great. I even offered to tip or compensate Ricardo for his help but he told me to pay it forward. We need more people like that.

My car was towed by this place because the apartment tag was faded and the 9 looked like a 1 to the tow truck driver. I went to my apt the next day and told the manager what happened but no help so I called the tow truck place to see what I would need to pay the next day. Gianna answered the phone and gave me the price for the current day and the next day with no mention of making an appointment. The next morning I called again and again Gianna answered and i asked about payment - if I could use my debit card or did i need to bring cash. She told me I could use my debit card but there would be a charge. By this time what is another $10 dollars. Again NO MENTION of making an appointment. My son and I get to this place and I tell her I need to get my car "do you have an appointment?" no I didn't know I needed one. She becomes hateful - my son says he's calling the cops. She tells him to go ahead and tells me I will NEVER get my car back if my son doesn't leave the premises. I'm crying by this time - which she LOVES - and I tell him to leave. She finally gets my paperwork to me after she emails my insurance info to herself from my phone - even though I tell him my insurance is in my car where it is supposed to be. She tells me to go through the gates - no mention of "YOU BETTER CLOSE THE 2ND ONE". All of a sudden she comes barreling out the back door "I told you to close the f'ng gate - you won't leave if you don't close the f'ng gate b". I tell her to leave me alone and that she is an ugly person and she said I was ugly. This is a professional business? A licensed business? Really???? Gianna is a disgusting person who should be ashamed of herself for treating a senior citizen like she did. And it was all a lie - my car should NEVER have been towed.
