I have lived in the area for more than 5 years and discovered Barbee's. I have had repairs made to different vehicles over the years and have found these folks to do honest work. They don't do unnecessary repairs. If they can fix it, they will, If not, they'll refer you. David and the guys are good, honest people, and I highly recommend them.
I moved here a little over a year ago and needed a trustworthy mechanic to work on my car. I asked around and found barbee. And I’m so thankful that I found them. If you’re looking for a good trustworthy mechanic I’d highly recommend them!
I took my truck here upon recommendation after I couldn't diagnose the problem with my vehicle.
I called three seperate business days after dropping it off and no one knew what was going on with my truck. Then suddenly it's "finished". No one bothered to call and tell me what they diagnosed and whether I'd like to get my own parts or have them get them, and if I'd like them to work on it (standard procedure with every other mechanic I've used). I'm told the truck has been driven two days in a row with no issue, charged me $135 for two coil packs and spark plugs and I'm on my way.
I drive five minutes down the road and the truck begins to drive worse than it did before I took it to Barbee Auto Garage. I barely get it home and I begin tearing into the truck and I notice the coil packs and spark plugs that were supposedly changed looked the same as what I had previously installed myself around two years ago, the coil packs even had the mild surface rust on them from the age and the spark plugs had carbon on the ends from long term use.
When I go back to the mechanic to verify what was done and to see the original parts that were removed, because there's always that chance I'm wrong, I'm accused of calling him a liar and I'm told to get a lawyer and sue him in court. He quickly became very defensive after I simply asked what all was included in the service and to see the original parts that were removed. I was not hateful, I was not nasty, I did not curse. I simply asked questions and requested some answers because I'm trying to figure out what's going on here.
The fact that he was not understanding of my concerns as a paying customer and so incredibly defensive, and the fact that he even told me to sue him, causes me to distrust this mechanic and garage even more.
These guys were awesome! Friendly group of people working here, reasonably priced, and thorough repairs made to my car. So grateful to the guys at Barbee Auto Parts for the concern they showed for me and my car's safety and getting me back on the road to enjoy my visit with family. A little off the beaten path, but the drive is lovely and totally worth it. I definitely recommend their services.
