I stopped here with a friend whose truck was overheating. The owner of the shop came out and looked at it and gave him some water to put in the radiator. A hose had come off, and we fixed it in his parking lot. He gave my friend a quote to put a new water pump on the motor, and it sounded like a fair price to me. $530

I was stranded in the middle I26 with no median in the heat of the day when my car started smokin and choked down. I looked up the best mechanic near me on google and due to the reviews i gave Chapin Automotive Repair a call and Greg worked me into his already busy schedule and within one day i had my car back. My car was diagnosed with a cracked radiator which was the reason for the wait. Down to earth honest mechanic. Thank you so much for your service. Greg has definitely retained a customer.
Greg is the best mechanic in Chapin! He's direct and tells you like it is, and he is very reasonable and most importantly honest. We call ONLY him for anything car related, and if it's not something he does he'll recommend someone else. But, so far he's done it all!! Definitely recommend calling him first before you go anywhere else... or I promise you'll be calling him later wishing you had taken this advice the first time!
Good service honest and they don't fix stuff that you don't need fixing if you have any problems go to them and let them check out your automobile I highly recommend it if you haven't car trouble
Was very impressed with there service. My wife had her transmission go out in downtown Chapin. Greg didn't hesitate, he went and picked the car up. I was worried about getting transmission rebuilt. After talking to Greg I went ahead and did it. He did it within a few days. 15k miles later the transmission is still perfect. Highly recommend them.
Greg, the owner is fantastic, honest, and will call you if he finds another issue with your vehicle before he repairs it. He guarantees all of his work.
Debbie and Tony were FANTASTIC. My boyfriend and I were on a trip home and had another 450 miles left before we got stranded at a rest stop. She was extremely friendly, knew her stuff, and she made us feel safe about the decision that we made to go to her. She and Tony made it possible for us to make it back to Florida. If you want a very reasonable price, a comfy stay, and amazing service, I HIGHLY recommend going to her. Tony is a master mechanic and they were both very knowledgeable. Thank you Debbie and Tony!
Very good and trustworthy. Clearly has plenty of business, so he is not out to milk anyone--actually talked me out of an unneeded repair. Very knowledgeable, fair pricing. Very pleasant to work with. Only drawback is that he is busy, so it can take a bit to get a car worked in, but I take that as a sign of a lot of people trusting Greg.
I have no repair rating to offer. I went into the shop to discuss a series of repairs. I am knowledgeable about my van and what I want done. The mechanic showed little interest, I was promised a phone call that never came. I called three other shops in the area and they were VERY diligent in getting me estimates and willingness to work with me.
Needed a lot of work on my truck. Gregg made it a priority and knocked it out the next day. Drives like new. Only mechanic I've ever recommended to friends and family.
