Just got my scrap liscene the other day and came to Charleston steel and I left with more money then I did at another scrap yard!!! Honest people and that's rare to find these days!!!
I do go to this scrap yard to haul off my scrap metal but today they really made me mad when all I had was fence post with concrete on the end of them and I try to explain to the guy that I'm in need of the money to be able to get stuff for my son so he can have his formula when he's only 9 months old and the guy goes on saying how he gets it well obviously he doesn't so now I'm trying to figure out how to come up with the money to get my stepson some more of his formula now he's got to have so that's the reason why I gave them a one-star rating
Awful scrap prices... go somewhere else. Today they gave me .33 cents on the dollar compared to other scrap yards in the area.
3,120 pounds of electric motors for .05 per pound. Everyone else is at .15 per pound and I had to unload it myself.
I went here today and the service is ok but it always seems like i get shorted on weight or 1 or 2 things left off my list to get money for. Give me a like if you know what im talking about or if it has happened to you....
Phones don't work as of 2-19-19. Then when you call the main office in Charleston they tell you that's just the way it is. What kind of answer is that? Terrible customer service.
Every time I go here they always short me or try I will have bare bright copper and they say #1. I have been to this scrap yard numerous times and will not be returning. They are not honest and will rip you off! I brought them cans one day and they did not pay me for them.
we would always carry our scrap metal to sell and recycle, but they started being dishonest about our weight, trying to show we brought in less pounds than what we have,under paying us in order to gain,like cheating us ,Now I'm hearing other similar stories about them,,we decided to take our metal to another business thats honest,and will give us a honest and fare price
Terrible! Called and was told they had a lot pipe etc to aid in the build of my son's tree house. Drove 45 minutes and when I got there gentleman said they didn't have anything and didn't want to leave his office to help do anything. Ended up leaving without getting what I needed. Unreal
