After coming to this location for years with my car, wife's car, son's car, and work car I will no longer be returning. Very disappointed in my last few times at this location with service, prices, and experience. I miss the small time mechanic who treated a person as a person and not just a money grab. Dissatisfied and disappointed.
I use Exeter towing for all of my towing needs. They do my personal and business towing. They also have towed my tractor out while it is stuck on the farm. They also tow for the state police and every time I have been towed, they have been on time and courteous. Their prices are always very reasonable and they are a nice family owned business.
The staff here is amazing, I had no issues with them,and they were of great assistance to me during my car's inspection. I would definitely recommend them if you needed such services.
Always trust that they never recommend unnecessary repairs, but if repairs are needed, We trust Slater's, to do them expertly and reasonably priced and on time

Recommended by friend, was from out of state when gear shift column broke on f 250 truck . I called and dropped it off. They gave a breakdown estimate and approval via text message with link to forms , approval papers and payment authorization forms. When notified it was ready picked up with truck ready to go . Smooth professional work
Awesome Experienced Diagnostic!
Although the advice was not the best news, it was expected and I got confirmation of another noise that I wasn’t sure that it was an issue. In the end they charged me only a diagnostic fee and verified I was on the right path to fixing my car. I will absolutely use them in the future. The dealership charged me 5x what Slater’s did and I didn’t feel the dealership really understood what was happening.
Terrible experience. We took our truck and horse trailer for repair. The quote was astronomical so we waited on the truck repairs but went ahead with the trailer because it was more urgent. They returned the truck with major scratches and dents even though they did no work. They admitted fault and then told us we had to use their auto body guy to fix. Nice little insurance fraud going there. The trailer apparently needed new tires, one of which popped within one trip after purchase. When I took it to another trailer servicer, they told me that the tires were not graded for my trailer, were the cheeapest money can buy, and were at least 8 years old. When I took their estimate for my truck to our own mechanics they said "this estimate is fiction." Needed none of the work listed at $4k. Total scam artists and unpleasant to deal with. Stay far far away.
Slater’s Exeter Auto Repair helped to get my family back on the road when we were having car trouble while traveling. The front desk staff were so kind to us and had us wait in their spotless waiting area. The mechanic who helped us diagnosed our car issue quickly and they helped us to get back on the road. If you are traveling I-95 through Exeter RI, or live nearby you should go to them first!

Had some work done to my vehicle brought a vehicle there three or four times for the same issue my car land up coming back with more issues more lights on destroyed the hose that goes to my air filter under the hood very rude and they rip people off call went in with a low coolant temp. Now my car is overheating and they tell me my engine is blown. People do not know what they’re doing. The lady Shannon behind the desk is very rude, ignorant and stunk. I do not recommend bringing your vehicle to this place I have six other codes on now These people are trash pretty sad when you have their own employees tell you don’t bring your car here because they will rip you off now that’s pretty sad. Shouldn’t you have told me that before I brought my car that dude Andrew is a joke. They hide a lot of the reviews so people don’t see them. Ask me numerous times to take my review down and that’s probably why my car is still messed up, but they are by far the worst garage I’ve ever been to in my life.
Highly recommend. My thermostat went on my jeep and si ce they were not able to get the part right away and it was a holiday weekend they gave me a loaner car till mine was ready. Very helpful ?
Traveling thru RI we had a 2am break down on I-95 towing a livestock trailer. Guys from Slaters showed up with a flat bed for my F350 and another truck to safely take our trailer and livestock to where ever we wanted. They were back at the shop at 3am running scans on the truck trying to diagnose the problem and back at the shop first thing in the morning working on it. Slaters had us up and running in no time and were nothing but a pleasure to work with. Cannot say enough good things about this family run business! The front desk lady Shanon is very aggressive and loud. She gave me an estimate and rushed me to pay prior to any work being done. Also, she sent me an invoice through phone and when I refused one of their services they increased the price of another service. When I asked her why the price changed she said she didn't want to go back and forth with me. Assuming I didn't catch that. When I went back to the invoice to verify it was no longer available on the link. After paying $800.00 for a leak repair my truck is still leaking. Waste of time and money.
Far away from home, towed in by AAA, the experts at Slater's got me back on the road and to a happy ending. The team was knowledgeable and supportive; and the cozy livingroom environment made waiting easy.
I trusted them with my truck that I have a supercharger on and thousands more in aftermarket suspension and other engine modifications. I never drive it when there’s salt on the roads and they let someone joyride my truck around in the last snow storm for 216 miles and now there’s salt everywhere on my truck! I had them change the gears and instead of breaking the gears in properly they just drove it around like it was there shop truck for 216 miles. I can’t say that enough because I am extremely disappointed with their decision to drive my truck around like they owned it. I paid them top dollar ( $7800 ) to install gears thinking it was in good hands but I was wrong! They may have been a nice family run business in the past but it seems they got to big and obviously don’t care anymore!!
