We tried to donate stuff and know one would pick up the phone every time I go in there they are rude

We had a terrible experience at the Charlestown location today. We had a number of pieces of furniture that we were donating. We called ahead of taking the 45 minute ride down there and spoke to the Director. We described what we had and he said it all sounded good and to come down. When we arrived we met a guy named Jason who was about the rudest, most belligerent, condescending, person imaginable. Without even a “hello” he pushed his way onto my truck and said he would only take two pieces. No explanation. When I explained that we had called ahead and described each item and were told that all was good, he made a condescending comment that the Director doesn’t know what he’s doing. He then rejected the second truck full of excellent pieces and told us he wouldn’t take them and we could take them to the dump! We will never donate to this group ever again! Absolutely horrible experience!

Bad experience today. I can accept the fact that Restore won't accept certain merchandise, including new building materials. But I also expect to be treated in a polite and courteous manner. This didn't happen today. I won't name names, but the gentleman at the loading dock certainly had an uppity and condescending attitude. He seemed entitled and privileged. That's no way to treat a donor. I wonder how he would behave if I offered to give his organization $1,000? I won't be back under any circumstances.

Friendly employees, but not too quick to help load your purchases, so if you intend to purchase something of size, bring help

We called Habitat for Humanity to donate literally tons of "furniture": tables dressers, sofas, beds, end tables, hutches, chairs, desks, and more. They sent a driver and an assistant over. They were impersonal and unprofessional. They refused to engage in any dialog. They picked through our furniture as if they were scavenging through trash. They ultimately chose two maple dressers. The majority of furniture they refused sold by the end of the day which is an indicator of their desirability. Worse they took items that were not "furniture" including a WWI British combat helmet valued at $100.00+ and yard tools. I doubt very much that the helmet made it's way back to the H4H store. Certainly not what I anticipated from a charitable organization with Humanity in it's name.

Seem like it's changed. Much more furniture than in the past. Good place to get remodeling stuff cheap but the selection is not as =goo as it'd been in the past. I'll keep checking. I've gotten lots of good deals there.

Great place to find some treasures. I've found a number of roughed up antiques that have refinished beautifully.

What a great store! The South County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is designed for you to find little deals everywhere. Unlike other ReStores, this one is located in a house, and has a homey feel with the way volunteers are working around the area Be aware of the requirements for each ReStore because each one is different based on staffing and volunteer ability. This one is a ton of fun because each room has a different theme, from furniture to electrical, to hall filled with tile, this place will be fun to browse. I recommend!

I love this place! I bought the pictured cedar chest for $50 - amazing! Staff are always helpful and polite and I love the randomly rotating inventory, it's great for picking up unique pieces.

Had an antique china cabinet with complete shelves and pieces but it was taken apart and they refused to accept and automatically took a bike that is worth $1500 out of the back even though it wasn’t for sale. I do love the place and travel here often from NY

Decent selection of used couches, chairs, and various large appliances. Prices are very good. When I was there they had Couches as low as $80-$300 and chairs as low as $29. And a standard selection of "stuff" like you might find at Savers or Salvation Army.

I am a home owner on a budget and hence have to be a do it "yourselfer". I have had to buy things, found no were else, at Home Depot and Walmart; however I have saved my family much money by shopping at the RESTORE. Each time I go I find a change and variety of items they offer. It is like Christmas, you never know what things you will find on hand- because the items there are donated. Over the time of one year I have bought things that included, paint, lumber, windows, doors, kitchen appliances, washer & dryers, table saws, plumbing supplies, hardware, VHS movies, phones, housewares, furniture, bed frames, yard tools and yard furniture, tools, lawn mower, snow blower, things for my car, my garden, and my dog. The folks there are very helpful and the prices are very fair indeed. They have light fixtures, and supplies as well. It is a handy man/woman dream. I hope I get to a point when I can afford to donate to this fine organization. God bless the persons running / volunteering at this store.
